Over the 4 day Christmas break we had a burst pipe in an upstairs toilet. By the time we all got back to work on Tuesday, the 2nd floor was flooded, and a heap of water had soaked down to the 1st floor. That meant everybody who worked in the flooded areas had to come over to this side of the building to work.
Anyway..... there have been some strange things happening in the toilets in my area, presumably by the people who normally work upstairs.
1. People keep turning on the taps too hard, so the mirrors and benches and floor have been soaked with water.
OK, this one is no big deal, but please try to be a bit more careful.
2. Someone did a poo in one of the toilets then dropped the empty toilet roll in the bowl. THEY DIDN'T FLUSH!
I guess they didn't want to flush the poo in case the toilet roll blocked the toilet. but still..... come ON! Who did they think was going to fix it? The cleaners are going to stick their hand in to get the roll out? Or perhaps they thought they'd leave the turd sitting in the bowl for a few months until it dissolved on its own?
3. Someone keeps putting the toilet seat UP in one of the toilets (there are 4 cubicles, it's always the second cubicle).
We are curious to know whether this is a man who has accidentally gone into the wrong bathroom? Or perhaps we have a "hoverer" who doesn't want to share bum germs with us First Floor plebs so hovers over the seat and it's easier with the seat up? We have been trying to catch them out but so far no luck.
What other reason could there possibly be for lifting the toilet seat UP in a women's toilet?
EDITED for Update:
OK, mystery has been solved as to WHO has been lifting the toilet seat, but not WHY.......
I put the seat and the lid of the toilet back down. One of my colleagues went into the bathroom and saw that someone was in the second cubicle. She went into the forth cubicle and bent down to have a look at the shoes of the person in there. Then my colleague went into the kitchen, waited a couple of minutes then went back into the bathroom. Sure enough the seat was up again. Then she did a walk-through of the area where the upstairs people have been sitting, and found the “culprit” in the pink sandals.
The woman is originally from our China branch. I know from other colleagues who have been to our China facility that the toilets there are holes in the floor where you have to squat over them to wee. So maybe she is in fact squatting over the toilet and it’s easier to do with the seat up?
I can’t believe how pathetic my colleagues and I are, and that I am actually posting this!
Oh, and I forgot one other thing - yesterday someone left a wet bunched up ball of toilet paper sitting on the toilet seat. What is WRONG with these 2nd floor freaks!!! The sooner they go back upstairs the better LOL!
