Sigh
We have a group of friends that we often do dinner or drinks out with. Generally lots of fun.
The one couple (D&A) we are closer to than the other (E&J) - the husband in the other couple is a bit tiring after a while (kind of a know it all). But D&A and E&J have kids the same age who are friends, so they see a lot more of them. Our girls tend to babysit D&A's 4 when we go out!
D&A have been away at family town for the entire holiday. So we planned to go out tonight. In texting plans, I mentioned our girls gave us certificates for a steak restaurant (the Keg) and we hadn't been in ages, so we'd love to go there and use them. D thought that was great.
So late last night she texts and says "I may have forgot to mention I had made plans with E&J as well, and E was cool with the Keg. But now she's got a cold and wants to stay local." But D also wants the Keg - she said "I want to end my vacation as full as I've been the entire time, and I want steak and potato, so we need to convince her it is the better option"
I agree. E often dictates where we go, and it is tiring.
I'm just stomping my feet a bit - I want to go out with my friends, so we will go.
But I did mention we'd rather use our gift from the kids so we can have a really great dinner - I already have my dinner picked out!
I don't want to stay local! stomp stomp stomp whine whine whine
There. I feel a bit better now! LOL
ETA - I should add, I believe DH & I are the "add on" couple. D & I had texted while she was away, discussing doing something when they got back in town. But I believe she asked E&J first, then added us, then mentioned we wanted the Keg and E was cool with that as we all hadn't been in ages.
