This thread is definitely better with pictures! Not that I have any good ones. My craft room is our third bedroom, and it's another teeny tiny one. I can't remember the precise measurements but I think the main area of the room is only around 6x6. This is DH working on it when we did it up a few years ago, as you can tell I'm literally standing in the dooway: Work in progress by Jenny, on Flickr On the right hand side you can see the corner of some (very useful) built in storage. It can't really be removed as the stairs actually come up through the room in that corner a bit, so the floor slopes upwards! Most of my paper and cardstock is in there, vintage books/maps to use on my pages, some cross stitch supplies and projects, and the magazines I still have. We moved the radiator under the window, and along the left hand wall I have a 5x5 Expedit which pretty much takes up the whole wall. That holds albums, some papers and sticker sheets, all my Sizzix alpha dies, the Big Shot, boxes of stamps, stickers, ribbons and other assorted embellishments, some tools, boxes of memorabilia, etc. The bottom row has large boxes which contain sewing and knitting supplies. Opposite that, we put a built in work surface. I have narrow shelves on the wall towards the window, and a large bulletin board this end. There are I think 3 assorted drawer units underneath which hold tools, inks, small embellishments, card blanks, and the like. I found a pic of that side (even this is just after it was done so a few years old, it doesn't look so neat now!!) P1010307 by Jenny, on Flickr If I stand in front of the Expedit it takes a single step to reach the desk, so there really isn't a lot of room to move in there. I love it though! Now I have a wide angle lens I ought to be able to get a better pic of it - although I would need to do some serious tidying first. I've done some reorganising lately but it needs a thorough purge to be honest.

My scrap room is in the basement so the only negative thing is no natural light. Other than that I love it. Two people can scrap together in there comfortably although it's not really a big room just what was a small bedroom. It's 10ft x 11ft. But I designed it and my husband custom built everything in it. The walls are a darkish brown and everything is made of birch so it's really cozy. I wish I could show you a picture but I don't know how to add a picture. Can anyone help me out?

There is a recent picture on my blog www.craftbrained.blogspot.com but if it's not obvious from the photo, my space is in the middle of our downstairs between the kitchen and family room, in what would be an informal dining room if we needed two dining rooms... To the left is the kitchen, to the right is the sliding door to the backyard. It's not the greatest space in the world but it has a window and it's not isolated which means I get to use the space once in a while.

A project table sits in the middle of an extra bedroom upstairs. Paper trimmers, punches, & other tools with blades are stored in its drawers, while two stackable paper trays that sort scraps & an oval planter serves as a recycling bin on the lower shelf. On the opposing wall two leaning shelves hold scrapping supplies & flank a flat file that houses stamps & inks. Next to the wall of windows is a side table & oversized, slipcovered chair & ottoman where I journal, sketch, & relax. Memorabilia, extra supplies (e.g. albums, page protectors), & holiday decor are stored in its large walk-in-closet. The walls are painted a pear green (SW Hearts of Palm); triple crown/baseboard/door/window moldings & plantation shutters are white; floors are hardwoods with a pink/orange/green/white area rug; & all furniture is from Pottery Barn (except the white slipcover is Ikea).
Happy scrapping everyone!

Mine rarely looks neat and tidy because I'm like a tasmanian devil working at my desk (the Bugs Bunny version.) Papers fly, ephemera spins, and it all lands in a giant pile on the desk. Kind of looks like my work desk.

Mine is in a spare bedroom that has no built ins (and would probably be listed as a study if I were to sell my house). My scrapping space shares with my computer - I have a standing height desk that is long enough to hold my laptop, a second monitor and my cameo along the length. I have a set of shelves lying on their side underneath with albums that are currently in progress (along with a pile of other stuff I need to sort out and either find a home for or throw out). I have an old 3 seater couch along the wall between my computer and scrapping desks. It belonged to my grandmother and is one of the old lie flat click clack sofa beds. The original upholstery has definitely seen better days (thank you cats for turning it into an oversized scratching post) but I love it just the same. My scrapping desk is on the wall straight inside the door but that does not mean I keep it clean. I have two sets of old metal tool drawers which I spray painted red for most of my embellishments and a set of two black drawers that I picked up in Target that are the perfect size for holding all my pp and cardstock. There is a timber set of drawers that stand about waist high next to my desk. I have my Mum's old typewriter on top of these as it's the perfect height for typing. I've shared this (rather large - sorry!) photo before of my desk:

It is my living room. It consists of an IKEA Expedit Entertainment center and a 1x4 Expedit. I have baskets all along the bottom. The rest is open.
There is also an old wash stand/hutch type thing that used to sit in my grandparents furnace room. There's 2 smaller drawers on top and two below. Now that my son is no longer doing therapy in that room, I'd like to fit a small desk in the corner for putting together pages.
When I do decide to work on things, I use a 6 foot folding table and a folding child's picnic table for holding my Cricut. If I'm going full force, I use my kitchen table that is not far away.

Mine is in my downstairs 4th bedroom/den. It has double doors and a very large window.
On one wall we put in upper and lower cabinets, painted black. In the middle is a very large black island with shelving on 2 sides.
The floor is laminate and the walls are red. I have an expedit cube for my albums, plus a couple more cubes on the walls for more albums and to hold paper, plus some fabric.

Mine is in a corner of the finished basement. I wish we had egress windows but no luck! So not a lot of natural light. But I do have 2 Ikea desks - one attached to a small Expedit and one attached to a very large Expedit. Here is a picture. It has changed a bit since this picture...the table at front left is gone (sold it, was an old kitchen table). The tall cabinet on right is now on back left and the cabinet with doors on back left is on right side where the sewing machine is in picture. Area is about 8 ft side to side x 10 feet front to back. Oh and I have a neat purple chair at the desk on the left now! Attachments:

It's a small rectangular shaped spare bedroom at the back of the house that's used as a combination sewing/craft room and guest room.
One of the short walls has two shallow but wide closets that I keep most of my supplies in. One closet has all my sewing stuff and fabric, the other has papercrafting and knit/crochet stuff. The other short wall has a big antique armoire where I keep clothes that need to be mended or sewing projects I'm working on, and it doubles as a guest closet. One of the long walls has my work table against it, the other long wall has a big window (3 feet tall by around 6 feet wide) that lets in a lot of natural light. Underneath the windowsill is a futon that I can use to sit on and work on hand sewing or needlework, and it's a guest bed when we have company. There's a corner shelf stand that has a small stereo, a clock, some decorative things, and an aromatherapy reed diffuser. I also have a magazine rack on the wall to hold current pattern books and magazines I'm interested in or working from, along with my sketch book and pencil case. On the wall above my table I have two clothesline type photo holders (wires with decorative clips) where I keep cards and other small things other people have sent me. I've got a shadowbox that another Pea made from a swap up on the wall for decoration and I am hoping to get more swap projects up for decoration to brighten the room and inspire me. My work table usually has an organizer caddy with my basic papercraft supplies and then another with my basis sewing necessities, along with whatever I happen to be working on. The back of the door has a way cool hanging scrapbook cabinet I got to hold supplies and tools I use more often and projects I'm working on or planning to work on.
The only thing I really want to change is the decor. The closets don't have doors, and the window has really ugly old miniblinds. I put some fabric curtains up on the closet doors and a valance on the window, but I don't like the print of the fabric much. It's kind of subdued and boring. I want to swap out the fabric in the near future for sure and make an afghan and some pillows for the futon, and put a curtain or Roman shades over the window. I want a new work chair too. Right now I have a generic office chair but I'd like something a little more comfortable to sit in for long periods of time, and a foot stool to prop my feet on.

My scrapbook room is a small room off the master bedroom and it would make an awesome walk in closet. But it is called a sitting room and has a window. DH used it for his office for a number of years and he built a wall to wall bookshelf that is unfinished (wood is unfinished - just raw wood) He still has a large number of books and role playing games on the shelf.
I cannot walk in the room without stepping on bags and boxes of stuff. I have set about organizing it but would need to dedicate an entire week that I don't have to get it functional.
I do have the albums on shelves and bins of stuff by theme on a shelf, but other than that my bedroom and that room are overflowing with bags and boxes of scrap supplies and memorabilia I want to scrap.
It's kind of like Pompeii. You can see that there was once a organized scraproom in there but it is covered with volcanic ash and has to be excavated to see its former glory.

Purple. Organized. Utilitarian. MINE It's fairly large for a bedroom (about 16' x 11' I estimate) with a small walk-in closet (4' x 5'). The shelves and desk are the Skandia wood from the container store. The only other piece of furniture is a changing chest that I used to hold my sewing supplies and will hopefully have to give up in the next year or so. The entire back wall of the closet is Elfa shelving from the container store. I will be adding more shelves and drawers later this year. I'd love to install custom white cabinets and quartz countertops with hardwood flooring but we are hoping to move in a few years so I am holding off. For now it is all very functional and purple and I am happy.

I have what was formerly an in-law suite...small bedroom, living area and bathroom that family members had been taking turns living in. After the last moved out, dh said I could have it for my scrapping area IF I did not have it overflowing throughout the house (like it was) So it has all been corralled into one area of the house. I did post some pics in this blog post link last year. I have a series of 'work stations' on the outer walls, the inner walls have my Ikea cabinetry that was in the former room (what I called the scrap closet) and I have an old Ikea desk in the center as a holding place for current projects. The former bedroom is all storage, closet is 'travel' stuff for crops and some misc craft stuff. 2 Ikea Expedit shelves sit right in the center and take up most of the room One thing I've added since the last year, is a kitchen cart in the hall next to the bedroom area, it holds my Christmas embellies in the cabinet part...and the top is my Cuttlebug embosser and embossing folders. (in the blog post it is where you see the keyboard) And a better kit organization. Love my room, just wish I could spend more time in it.

I have a section of the family room that I use for scrapbooking, sewing and my computer desk/genealogy.
The scrapbooking section is a 6ft table against a wall in the corner. It has three Recollections organiser cubes (with the shelves) on top horizontally to hold my paper/cardstock (sorted by colours). On top of those is a 3-drawer unit with GS, Military and Christmas papers/embellishments; sideways magazine holders with my scraps and idea folders. My Cricket is next to the cubes and hooked up the computer on the desk adjoining the table. Under the table is a file crate with embellishments in folders and an iris cart with album stuff (photos/memorabilia/embellishments). I have a 4-drawer unit nearby with tools, adhesive, stamps/ink pads.
Next to the desk is a 3 shelf bookcase with my QK and cards as well as genealogy, sewing and crafting books.
The computer desk is adjacent to the scrapbooking table and has my printer and 2 monitors (the CPU is on the floor). I have a smaller 4x2 table parallel to the desk (chair is between them) with my sewing machine - it has a 3-drawer unit on top for notions/tool and a bigger 3-drawer unit underneath for interfacings and batting and polyfill. Next to it is a 7-drawer unit for wovens (a 3-drawer for knits is under the scrapbooking desk.
Overall my space is just shy of 10 ft long and just over 7 ft wide

Mine is located in the downstairs guest bedroom. I have half the space to use. I have 9 Target Kids cubes that hold all my paper and misc kits and sizzix alphabet dies. I love the size because it fits my iris boxes perfectly. On the top I have two Michael's half size storage pieces that hold markers and pens and have two drawers on the bottom. The center piece is the same size but is 2 shelves. I found it at Goodwill. It holds my embossing folders and larger rubber stamps. My desk is from Costco. I love it! Holds a ton of stuff. Under my desk is a microwave cart without the wheels. I have rectangle wicker baskets that hold all my large sizzix dies. I've kept my older scrap table that folds up in case I needed extra working space. My closet has a few other storage pieces in it and on top of those are my two, two tiered clip it ups. Behind my door I have a shoe holder that holds my punches.

It's the office space on the main floor of our home. It has a big window looking out to the front yard, which lets in a lot of nice light. I have a couch in front of the window, heaped with soft blankets and pillows, and I often sleep there when my back is acting up. I have a nice big Ikea Stenstorp kitchen island in the other half of the room where I do all my work, and an Expedit unit on one wall for storage. On the other side I have a large solid wood, glass-door bookshelf for more storage. The bookshelf is a vintage side-of-the-road acquisition that my husband brought home for me, and only needed a little TLC to be pretty again. I'm also currently fixing and painting a 1950's sewing cabinet, that sits alongside the bookshelf and is perfect for my machine. Everything is done in white and soft aqua and pinks. I'm really happy to have my own space .

Mine is on the second floor of my old house (circa 1907 or thereabouts). These photos were taken several months ago but the space looks much the same, with the exception that I have now added a black Ikea dresser to the left/behind the vantage point of the shots. So far it remains empty because we bought it in November and got it assembled (by that I mean my husband) and then the holidays and some other stuff hit. Right now, the TV and my large format printer sit on the top of it. It has four smaller drawers and four large drawers. It's the Ikea Hemnes dresser. This is standing near the edge of my desk. The upstairs also includes a guest suite with a bedroom and a full bath and has a set of kitchen cabinets with a sink, mini fridge and microwave. I've taken the kitchen cabinets/counter area over to use mostly for rubber stamping/card making pursuits: Another photo showing the orientation relative to the staircase and bedroom. The entire scrapbooking studio space is approximately 15 x 22 feet. One more:
