We're going next week. I know it's winter in the US but is Hawaii as cold? Thanks in advance. I know I could google but I'd rather some advice from people I know & trust, well, you know what I mean!

This time of year it will be low to mid 70s during the day and low to mid 60s over night unless you are at a very high elevation. I'd pack summer wear (shorts, tshirts, sundresses, bathing suits) along with one pair of long pants and a light jacket for everyone to wear in the evening. The wind off the water can make things feel quite cool.

I pack two swimsuits and a swimsuit cover up, shorts, sleeveless tops, sundresses, a pair of good walking shoes and flipflops. I have been 3 times in the past 4 years and the only time I have worn long pants is on the plane. I have never worn a regular t-shirt, only sleeveless, and never worn a jacket.
If however, you are going somewhere like Haleakala, you will want something warmer.
Have a great vacation. Maui is my favourite vacation spot!

check KHON for the week's forecast to get as accurate as possible idea of what it will be for that week.

Yes it will be freezing in Hawaii. Take heavy winter coats, snow boots, scarves, gloves, and snowmobile helmets in case that is how you need to be transported to your hotel. Also a GPS tracking device for each member of your party in case of avalanches.
Have fun!

This time of year you will definitely want a jacket, and make sure it's waterproof. There will probably be rain at least once. I would definitely check the forecast. You may want a pair of long pants and a sweatshirt just in case.

I just came home from Hawaii (Maui and the big island) two days ago. It was quite warm, in the low-mid 80s every day, but the evenings were cooler and breezy. You'll want a sweater or light jacket. I wish I was still there ??. Enjoy!

If you are coming from somewhere that is normally tropical, it may seem a bit cold, especially at night. If you are used to cold winters, it will feel warm. Have fun!!

What part of Hawaii are you going to? A light jacket or sweater for when the sun goes down would be good. Otherwise, shorts and flip flops and a few bathing suits. Most of Hawaii is pretty casual.
If you are going to be on the Big island and visiting Volcanoes Ntl Park - you will want a jacket or heavier sweatshirt and possibly pants. It is pretty chilly up there.

Last year we were there in early February and we need a lot less clothes then we brought! We found it very warm and needed a thin hoodie only late in the evening. We did the morning Halalekala sunrise and though we thought we were prepared with our heavy jackets, toques and mittens we still froze but was so well worth it.

We just got back from Maui less than 2 weeks ago. It was low 80s every day.
I packed swimsuits, cover ups, shorts and t-shirts, summer dresses, walking clothes, a pair of Capri pants, 3 silk tanks, 2 wraps and a sweatshirt. I never needed the wraps but sometimes wore my sweatshirt. I didn't need the Capri pants. I spent most of my time in swimsuits and cover ups and in t shirts and shorts.
We had a condo and in 11 nights we only ate out 4 times, so if you're eating out more you might need more clothes. We barely left the beach/ pool. Have fun!

Mine. You should pack MY clothes. Then I would have to go with you. I wouldn't be any trouble, I promise.
Seriously, if I were going to Hawaii, I would need no other excuse to go out and get a bunch of cute, new outfits, and pray for sunshine during the day and warm nights. Have a great trip!

Right now, we have the air-con on 24/7, so anywhere below 100, yes I'll be packing my winter woollies for sure.

Motorcyclists don't wear helmets. Why would a snowmobile require one? Be realistic here. A tuque is sufficient.
