How does their sizing run? I have heard that UK sizes are 4 sizes bigger than a US size - i.e. if I am a US 8 then I should order a UK 12 from Boden. Has this been true in your experience? Or do Boden clothes run a little larger or smaller than that?
Thanks... even though it's a sale item, it will be an expensive purchase when all is said and done, and I don't want to mess it up!...

I've heard on SML to order a size up. But don't know about that specific line or numbered sizes.

I always check the measurements chart, not the sizes when ordering because there can be large variations between different companies. I just placed an order last month. The blouses I ordered ran small, the jacket I ordered ran large.

I really do love their clothes. I just wear more scrubs than anything else these days. Their children's and teen clothes are also really great. m

I've ordered a few things from Boden and I think it runs a tad small, but nowhere near two sizes small. I agree that you should check their measurements chart.

I have to try their stuff on. They hold an annual sale at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks PA, where I buy their clothes. Shoppers told me they have an outlet in the Poconos and the prices are rock bottom. I have not been there, saving that for when I ever manage to lose weight.

There's a comparison sizing chart here: US/UK Size ChartIf you use that in conjunction with the Boden size chart mentioned by @dottyscrapper it should give you a good idea of what size to order.

I have referenced the Boden size chart - what I find confusing about it is that it shows the garment dimensions rather than the body dimensions (isn't that how most size charts work - if your body measures these dimensions then order this size of clothing?) Obviously I wouldn't order clothing smaller than my body dimensions, but it's tough trying to figure out how much wiggle room there should be.
The UK/US size conversion chart is helpful - thanks!

I order a size up. I love their clothes and have a LOT from them.
Don't know where you live but they have a warehouse store in Pennsylvania....

The blouses I ordered ran small, the jacket I ordered ran large. They have specified measurements for each piece - and sizing does vary. I have quite a bit of Boden in very different sizes that all fits at the same time. I love Boden, the quality and the style. Just check the sizing chart for each thing before you order

I'm in Canada so unfortunately the warehouse doesn't do much for me. I will keep that in mind if I ever get down there though!

The problem I have with boden, and pretty much any British clothier is the bust. And this goes way back to my first trip to the UK 30 years ago. I'm 5'3 1/2" and a US size 6, but most of the U.K. tops I've run across are made for a B cup or smaller. I'm a D. So really I can only buy knits that stretch a bit. Anything woven (unless it's a loose style) won't work for me.

That is interesting... because when I lived there I thought the women were generally very large chested and I found tops loose in the chest and tight in the arms.. I do not have skinny army but I found it tough to find tops. That said, I love Boden and have found for bottoms (skirts) to order at least a size up... in pants I go two sizes. (fat thighs to go along with my fat arms!) I wear my regular size top in Boden.

I agree with BarbaraUK - use the comparison chart and the measurements for the pieces you're interested in. I love Boden and have bought a lot in the past. Unfortunately, the sizing is perhaps not as consistent as it used to be, but I think the clothes are still great and good quality.

I just received a large order of lightweight (primarily) linen tops for a trip to Cuba that I leave for tomorrow. While I sized up and now the shoulders aren't quite right, they fit in the bust and arms
