I started yesterday and my goal is to have the tree ready for DH and DS to put it up in the garage attic on Saturday morning. But I'm tempted to leave this guy out because he makes me smile every time I go up stairs.

Cute snowman. I'd leave him out as he's winter, not Christmas.

I have most everything put away except
1. The box with the tree in it. 2. A Christmas plate. 3. A broken ballerina ornament with a missing head.
I am hoping to wrap this up before the weekend.

Christmas stuff is put away and winter stuff is out. No snowmen this year... pinecones, greenery, and fuzzy white owls... but I sometimes leave them out for winter decor. Your cute guy could definitely pass for winter...though it must be terribly uncomfortable for him with that post up his butt! lol

Does having all the totes sitting in the foyer count? DH asked me to let him put them away in the garage so there they sit .

I'd leave him out too. I'd rationalize that it's Winter decor and not Christmas as suzastampin said. All of ours is put away, except the tablescape on the dining table. Except for the antique ornaments that fill the inside of the lantern, I'm going with "it's Winter decor". I really should replace them with pinecones, but that would require going in the basement.

My DH missed Christmas this year because he was overseas (military contractor), so it's all still up waiting for his return next week. The tree, his gifts, the dinner and baked goods will be ready for him. Can't wait, it's been a long six weeks! The outside decorations will come down before the HOA gets on my butt though lol.

I am having a little trouble putting away the baby tree. It is all sea shells this year-ones that I picked up off of beaches over the years that I made into ticky-tacky ornaments and put on the little tree. I want to put it away, but it is kind of fun with all the shells. Maybe this weekend.

I usually have everything put away by the 1st, 2nd at the latest. DH's 96 year old Grandma was suppose to come for dinner on Sunday and wanted to see our house decorated so I left everything. She then didn't feel well and didn't come for dinner and since I have worked long hours every day since, the only thing that has been taken down is the tree (but the boxes of tree decorations are still sitting in the middle of the floor). It is just sooooooo sad that I don't have a retired husband and a college kid living in the home who could help un-decorate while I'm at work...

No way!
Christmas usually lasts about two months here, middle of November til middle of January. I still feel such pleasure sitting here next to the glow of the Christmas tree, even though the gifts are unwrapped and gone.
I was late decorating this year, it was almost the end of November before I was finished. And I will reluctantly take down things this weekend.
There just doesn't seem to be much to look forward to from after Christmas til spring. We haven't even really had any snow yet. I like to prolong the lights and the decorations as long as possible to give some brightness and festivity to what will otherwise be a long, cold winter season.

Your snowman is adorable. All of our Cmas stuff has been put away, but I did leave out a couple of small burlap trees and my handmade wooden snowman on the harth. Those, to me, are more wintery than Cmasy.

Nope, my houses and nativity are still iut. I am going to start putting the houses away tonight. My houses come out as part of my winter decorating. I have not put anything away yet. Husband took down lights tonight since we keep them lit until the 6th. On Sun DH will bring in the bins and I am off work on the following Fri so I will try to get everything put away next weekend. Then DH can take down the tree and box it up. I will then have some snowmen, and my vintage putz houses out until March.

We'll put it away this weekend most likely. DH and I both had the flu over winter break so we got nothing done then. And we haven't wanted to mess with it after work this week.

He is very sweet, leave him be until the chance of snow has passed.
I have grown to hate the fuss of Christmas in the last 3 years so my decorations have to go up in 15 mins or they don't go up at all. I have a ready lit collapsible tree, fold up snowflakes, a few ornaments and a couple of pop-up nativities which come out plus some battery lights to put round picture frames. Job done.

We didn't put the houses out this year but those also stay longer 'winter village'
My entire set was made by my sister so it's very special to me.

We put away just about everything last weekend except for my Willow Tree nativity set, the wreath on my door and 4 Yankee winter/holiday candles. One candle is in a really pretty frosted class winter scene holder.

My outside lights and my two trees inside are lit right now. The lights in the windows aren't on. I'm just to lazy to plug them in. The outside stuff is probably coming down tomorrow. I might start on the trees this weekend or I might not. They are so cheerful and bright on these dark gloomy winter days. One year I didn't take them down until the first week of February.

I love your snowman!
All of my Christmas stuff came down and was put away on 12/30. I like having Christmas put away before my 12/31 birthday and the New Year.
