It is really cold here for us... 18 this morning. I didn't make DD walk to the car pool.
I have seen others posting how cold it is... I heard it was really cold at the Golden Globes last night.
SO how cold where you are and please some of you southern peas give us some warm vibes.

It's currently 8 here with a "real feel" of -12. That's the wind chill actually. Gotta love that arctic air.

Uh...this southern warm vibe isn't all that warm this morning. Granted, it isn't in the negatives or teens, but it is 45 right now and frankly, it was in the upper 80's two days ago and this abrupt change to 45 thing is for the birds. I don't like it, it is cold and I don't do cold well. It makes me grumpy.

Yesterday was bitterly cold, stayed inside as much as possible. DH is happy because he will finally be able to drive out on the lakes for ice fishing. He has not been happy this winter because the weather has been so nice, no ice.

I have often wondered how I would fare living in the north...and when I hear about these types of temperatures I can pretty much guess I would never, ever leave my house.

We need more ice for lakes, and more snow for snowmobiling! We might be heading up to Fargo in a couple weeks. DS has been accepted to NDSU and there is an event we might go to. So what are some fun things to do in the area. We want DS to see what Fargo has to offer, not just the college. Whenever DS tells someone he is going to NDSU they say, "It gets really cold up there." Like we did not know that. DS just says, the cold does not bother me.

Wow, what part of the state is still so warm? I have had my hat, cloves, and winter coat out since the first of the year. I am in the foothills.

I always say I couldn't live where it was 100 degrees every day in the summer. Nope, give me cold any day!

have often wondered how I would fare living in the north...and when I hear about these types of temperatures I can pretty much guess I would never, ever leave my house. You get used to it and you dress for it. It was 9 below yesterday, but no wind. So the most common comment was, "Hey - it's not too bad out there".... The day before it was around 0, but with a very stout wind, and it was MISERABLE out there. You never travel without having plenty of extra clothes with you (unless you are an idiot). We keep hats, gloves, coveralls, etc. in the trunks of every car. If you have to get out of the car when it is sub-zero - you need to have everything covered up good. -26F - how do you insert a "deep sigh" smiley? LOL Oh my goodness! Where are you! It gets that cold here once in a while, but not every year. The windchill can get that low - but that's not the real temp. I get so friggin' tired of the weather people making it worse than it really is. We need to know the actual temps to regulate our barns. We need the real temp (not the "real feel") and wind speed/direction. It is getting really hard to get the real weather conditions, not the made for TV forecast! LOL

I have heated seats in my truck-and use them a lot in the winter. Funny how we are all are-I would rather have the 95 degrees of the summer. I wonder if it is just what we have gotten used to, or if it is genetically predisposed?
