We just started them for our kids and our family this past Thanksgiving. We drove out to Colorado from California and back. Along the way we hit Arches National Park and then the Grand Canyon. I drove dh nuts trying to get all the ones they had at the grand canyon - there were something like 6 different ones! Loving it!

DH and I do it. We purchased for our granddaughter, too.
If you forget it, just stamp a piece of paper and glue it in your book. I have done it a couple times.

If you are interested, go to www.parkstamps.org. It's the home of the National Park Travelers Club, they are all about the stamps! They even have a master list of where every stamp is located. It's a nominal fee to join ($10 the first year, and $5 after that) I've more than gotten my moneys worth out of it! Hope this helps out!

This is so cool!! For some reason, the pics won't load for me and I really want to see them, lol!! I'll try again later. I wish I had known about this a few months ago. I just got married and for our honeymoon, we went to a couple islands in Hawaii and visited multiple national parks. I would have loved to get stamps!! Thanks for sharing!

And thanks for telling me the fee was worth it. I may look into that later today.

My travel friends and I all got one last year & have been collecting stamps. Wish I had gotten it earlier. Living it Utah I can get quite a few stamps without even leaving the state. I like the little photos they have for the books too.

So precious! We are big National Parks and have been to 34 of the National Parks (heading to number 35 next weekend) and many of the other National Monuments, etc. We don't do the Passport program but I love the idea of starting one for our future grandchildren.

Your daughter is just precious! I love that you are instilling the love of travel from the beginning. It is something my parents did for me and I did for my DD as well. Thanks to your post, I found a perfect gift for DH's stocking this year! I've just ordered the passport. He does lots of road trips (I usually fly out and meet him for a few days) and loves to explore parks along the way. With retirement in the near future, this will be the perfect gift!

What a great idea - taking photos with the passports. I'm going to do that with our grandchildren.
We always take ours along and get it stamped.

We keep forgetting to take ours with us! It just occurred to me as I was typing that sentence to keep them in the car. We've visited quite a few without our passports. Makes me so mad at myself. I have done that a few times. What I do in that case is stamp on a piece of paper and just glue it into my passport.

I think I'll pick them up for my kids. I already have my own but they would make good stocking stuffers.
