DH often goes a week or two without shaving and then trims it all off before he comes home off the road. He keeps his nether regions trimmed but that's about it. He's got a bit of hair on his chest but leaves that alone. Not an overly hairy person at all. DH bought a new trimmer. I think he got a bit carried away yesterday with it as I felt like I came home to one of those hairless dogs. He trimmed his beard, buzzed his head (he normally keeps it relatively short anyway, trimmed down below, then kept going. No more chest hair, no more armpit hair. Fortunately, he stopped just short of shaving his legs. Anyway, he says his new thing is that he's going to continue to shave his man pits. Says maybe he won't have to use deodorant as much since maybe he will sweat less. (Uhhh no) I think this is weird. Is it weird? Smooth man pits?

uhhh, yeah, I think that's kinda weird. Unless he's a professional swimmer, or something like that... but that's just me.

He has facial hair, not a full on beard, just scruff and I love it. He also keeps his chest trimmed up, he doesn't fully shave it, he just trims it. If he didn't he would have a forest going on! I don't want him talking about the status of my nether regions to others so I'll just say no comment to that one .

My husband is one hairy man but if I suggested any shaving below the collar he'd look at me as if I had 2 heads. Luckily I love him just as he is, closely trimmed beard and all lately

But mine just has a 'stache. Sometimes he lets it go a little more down towards his chin than I am used to. But he would very much be WTF if I ever even so much as mentioned shaving anything below the neck.

Mine shaves his neck. A profession does his hair and beard. I had no idea men did their "belows".

my BF only goes max 2-3 days in between facial shaves. If his beard gets too long, it gets itchy for him, and it's a weird reddish color that doesn't match the hair on his head, so he doesn't like that. Granted, he buzz cuts his head with his trimmer on, like, setting 1, because he's thinning on top-- think Captain Picard (which I LOVE, by the way)-- but he still doesn't like that the hair colors don't match.

He hates shaving--has a beard and mustache and goes to the barber to have them trimmed. Neither of us are interested in him shaving anywhere else.

Ya, the only men who need to shave anything other than their faces are swimmers Dh is a blonde so he can go a day or three without shaving ... then I start to complain because he looks like a homeless person

DH doesn't shave shave his armpits or nether regions but he does use a clipper to keep things trimmed up. He admitted that he used to shave his chest and armpits because he didn't have a lot of chest hair and felt like it was weirder to have patchy hair than a smooth chest. I told him unless he's a professional body builder, there's no need to shave his chest. He trims his armpit hair because he doesn't like it peeking out when he puts his arms down or even out of a sleeve. He's so damn pale that he rarely takes his shirt off so no one sees his so-called patchy hair. He started trimming his bush after I did it for him one time and found that he enjoys having less hair. It's a close trim, not a clean shave.
The only clean shave he does is his facial hair.

DH shaves his face about 3 times a week. His beard is slow growing and he's in a relaxed profession so it's not a big deal. He has shaved his chest off and on in the past. He's got this idea that when he loses all his excess weight then he'll start keeping it smooth. I don't care; there are pros and cons to both smooth chest and hair (but not bear hair. There are no pros to that.)
It's interesting he said what he did about deodorant and under arm hair. It's actually true. It's why women tend to not have as much body odor as men. It's not because were are cleanlier or sweat less. It's because the underarm hair keeps moisture in the area longer. Moisture=more smell.

My ex shaved his pits and his parts. He was quite athletic and didn't like how he smelled with all the hair. That and he said he didn't like looking like a man with a hamster in a head lock when he wore a tank top.

Well armpits is new to me, and I have lots of friends who shave other parts of their body, like their chests. The only person I ever knew who shaved his pits was a swimmer.

My DH is 1/2 Sicilian. He's a furry little caveman type creature and wouldn't ever consider shaving below his neck. It'd be a part time job. He grew a beard this fall. He trims that once a week. When he was in the military, he sometimes had to shave twice a day if he was on a long duty shift - once in the AM before early morning PT and once around the end of the regular work day before beginning guard duty at the gate.

Under arm can definitely add to more odor, and in some case more staining of the underarms of their shirts. Add that to whole "hair peeking out from short sleeve" thing, and I can see why men would want to trim it at least. i don't find it weird. Just because the majority of people do one thing doesn't make it logical or best for everyone. Honestly, I don't find it appealing when a guy raises his arms and he has 10 tons of fur under them. Yes, it's natural, and I'm fine with even women opting not to shave under their arms, but in terms of what I find attractive in a man, I'd like less under arm hair than some men have naturally. Let's face it, if a guy just let the hair on his head grow and grow and never did a thing with it besides wash it, I'd probably not be a big fan of that, either. I guess if hair grows, I like to see it trimmed sometimes. Man or woman, regardless of location.

I laughed at the thought it would be a part-time job. I am married to a bit of a hairy beast of a man - simple genetic trait - he shaves his face in the morning and we joke that he doesn't get 5 o'clock shadow, he gets 11 a.m. shadow. He truly could shave twice a day. Doesn't, but could. I would have absolutely zero desire to see him shave his body hair. It's just not something I would be interested in and it's definitely not something anybody would want to have to maintain.

I don't like beards, so he shaves every day/every couple of days. But I shave my legs every couple of days because I can't stand hairy legs! And he appreciates that! So we are both happy!

Dh isn't very hairy. He shaves every other day to every other other day. Little chest hair, like enough to be manly but not like a gorilla lol. Just a few stray back hairs. Doesn't trim down below. Light, thin leg and arm hair.

Now that we're older, there are times when I swear I'm married to a silverback gorilla! (Good thing I'm an animal lover, LOL.) He trims his beard and mustache when he starts looking like a mountain man and his barber shaves his neck hair above the collar when he gets a haircut. Other than that, there maybe should have been a "Never?" option in the poll. I wouldn't want him to start shaving elsewhere because he would probably need help to do it and I don't need anything else on my to-do list!

No below the neck shaving for DH. He even shaves his head on occassion. And, get this, he trims his eyelashes. They are so long, they start to bother him. I would love to have his long lashes.

My DH has extremely curly hair all over, and struggles a lot with ingrown hairs when he shaves. But his beard, if he lets it grow, is patchy and a mixture now of white and carrot-orange. He uses a trimmer every morning instead and leaves just a tiny bit of scruff, which I like, and only shaves if he has a really important meeting or an interview. On weekends and vacations he'll even go 2-3 days between trims.
As far as I know, he's never trimmed or shaved anything below the neck (oh, I take that back - he has two small random patches of hair on his back that he asks me to shave for him if he's going swimming). He has a lot of reddish-blonde hair on his chest, arms and legs - and other places - but it curls very tightly against his skin. I like it, and it doesn't get in his way or show in places that it shouldn't, so he leaves it.
