Who is tracking you?
You could turn off gps location services.... I suppose that could help. However you leave a fingerprint every time you use the phone. And I believe this is true of any self Cell phone

Unless it's law enforcement, only people who know your Apple ID and membership number can track you.
If someone is tracking you via Find my iPhone, you can just turn off location services.

Yeah, you're going to need to be more specific.

It is a work issued phone. We want to go away this weekend but since dh is salary, they feel the need to track him. He is not a weekend employee but that doesn't stop them.

If it's a work-issued phone, you probably don't have any recourse. I am sure their agreement that he consented to (either explicitly or implicitly, by accepting the phone) allows them to do that. In fact, disabling the "tracking" (sounds like you're talking about Find My iPhone) likely goes against their agreement.

I thought of turning off wifi and changing the privacy and locations services but didn't know if there is something I'm missing.

Have they "tracked" him before? Why not just tell them? we are going away from the wkend. Turning off my phone. Is he suppose to be available for on call? the other issue would be, is he suppose to be using a work phone for private?

Is he required to take calls? Is he not allowed to travel? Is he supposed to be trackable?
I don't know if this is possible but can you leave his phone home with a forward to a phone you take with you? They track him at home but he still gets the call? Not sure it's possible.

Why would they care that he went away? Why do you care that they know you went away?

Why do you not want to be tracked this weekend? Are you going on a killing spree?

This is weird. Is your husband not allowed to go away for the weekend?

Not sure it's possible. this is what I do with my work phone. ( though I'm not on call weekends ) just make sure you change the incoming greeting on the phone you forward it to make sure you remove the number and say hello you've reached me klutsky so no one can tell

I have heard that a lot of company issued phones have apps that allow them to know where you are and (don't know if there is any truth to it) access the camera and microphone. I think that last part would be illegal, but they can certainly track you. Even if you turn off WIFI, it is a phone and will still be connected to cellular. Your best bet is to leave that sucker at home and give the company an emergency number to call, either his personal cell phone or yours.

The questions crack me up...specifically the killing spree! I love this place! He is a manager, so yes he is suppose to have his phone with him at all times. Usually we don't care if they know we are away but recently the owner has been particularly in everyone's business. One of the girls called out during the blizzard because the plows were struggling to keep up. The owner called her in the afternoon to tell her to come to work bc the website shows the plow just came down her street.

Ok, if he is suppose to have the phone and get calls on the weekend. Why would they care where you guys are? If you're leaving Friday, today and he isn't going to work, then I'd forward the calls.
IMO the owner needs a job if that person has the time to watch the tracking on a snowplow.....just my thoughts! Oh, and then the owner needs to follow the plow and dig out the end of her driveway so she can actually get out of her driveway.

We have work issued phones that have an app on them (required) so they can track us if needed but they won't unless here truly is a need to locate us, which I don't think there has been a case.
Your DH is not required to work, so it shouldn't matter to them where he is. If he us off, I doubt they will be tracking him. I wouldn't worry about it. If he really doesn't want them to know, leave the phone at home, then he can call them on your phone, tell them that he accidentally left his phone home and is out of town and if they need him to call your number. They can't track your phone

The owner called her in the afternoon to tell her to come to work bc the website shows the plow just came down her street. That's messed up!! That goes beyond anything a boss should do, IMO. I would just have the voicemail on his work phone set with a message to forward his calls to a personal phone for the weekend. Sorry he has to deal with such a prick of a boss.

Not sure of the type of business your DH manages, but this owner needs to find something better to do with their time! Geesh! Of course, unless they are saving lives or something to that magnitude, but I suspect that is not the case.

My husband powered down his company issued phone while interviewing with a competitor and I thought he was being paranoid. Guess not!

Does it have to be on to track it? If so simply turn it off and check it every couple of hours. They'll leave a message if it's important.
