Hey everyone! Dh is a realtor and has an open house today so he will not be here to grill like we usually do on Sundays ... and I am terrified of the grill I think I will be cooking up (frozen) lasagna and garlic cheese bread ... No, the lasagna is not homemade ... it is from Costco because I am lazy What is cooking at your house tonight!

We are having chicken Parmesan and spaghetti or Lombardi Chicken and roasted green beans. We will have a side salad with either. I need to see where my mood takes me a little later in the day.

I cooked a pot of rice last night and stuck it in the fridge so I can make chicken fried rice tonight. The 6yo will be here and fried rice is one of his favorites. Because soy sauce.

Been missing in action on this thread this week. I'm on kitchen/freezer strike (a long story) and DH has been in charge of evening meals so I haven't known what was on the menu each day. So far we've had hamburgers, waffles, pizza, tomato soup and cheese toast, a fried potatoes, green beans, and applesauce meal, and baked potato soup last night. I can't wait to see what's up for tonight... if I know my guy, it'll be some sort of breakfast or pancakes, though I have put in my bid for a salad... jeez, give me something green!!

I went shopping this morning, bought a ton, spent a fortune, and we're having......crescent dogs. Maybe chips too. After spending the time making a menu and grocery list, shopping, then spending the day packaging and freezing meat, prepping vegetables, and putting groceries away, I am not inspired to cook, and end up serving a lame dinner, with items/ingredients I didn't even buy that day. marianne, interesting idea. You'll have to update us and let us know if you get the results you're hoping for. ETA: Holy comma, Batman! 7 in one sentence!

We went to Denny's for breakfast with our neighbors (senior citizens). We cut their grass and they take us to breakfast on Sunday - sweet deal for DH (because he loves breakfast). I do the pancakes because I'm not an egg person. Anyway, he is always too full after eating one of Denny's skillet breakfast and I'm always wanting more because I only ate two pancakes. So this will be snack night around our house. I'm still hung up on Kraft Green Onion dip and potato chips.
After breakfast, we did go by Walmart for a few things and I do mean a few things the bill was only around $150.00 (that's low for us but we only shop every two weeks).
Just give me my drink - a diet Sierra Mist with Cranberry Splash along with Vodka and I will be happy.

We are headed around to a friends house for Southern Soul Food!! Homemade Fried chicken and southern sides. I will update later on what the side dishes are. She is an AMAZING cook, so we are in for a treat.
ETA: The side dishes were so, so good, as was the fried chicken. She made the following sides; sweet potato souffle with a candied pecan topping *TO DIE FOR*, mac and cheese, collard greens with bacon. Then for dessert Sweet potato pie with ice cream and whipped cream.
I've never had anything bad from her kitchen! she is one amazing cook, and a great friend.

DS has come down with something I fear is the flu, so he didn't want anything for dinner, and DD was at MIL's house for dinner, so DH and I just had some fishcakes (with potatoes, broccoli and melted butter).

Hope your DS isn't going to feel too poorly with whatever bug he's got and will be fine again soon. Ohhh, fish cakes - so tasty and we haven't had those for ages so must put them on the meal list!

DH has been here this weekend, so I made the gorgeous chicken noodle soup I first made a couple of weeks ago that the kids did not appreciate! It was so fresh and healthy, lots of pak choi, sweetcorn, spring onions and fresh coriander to perk up the basic recipe. And then I poached some fresh peaches and had them with homemade waffles and ice cream. I bought a traditional waffle maker from Amazon on Black Friday, and this is only the second time I have used it.
