This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sorry to be late in getting this posted. I have missed you. I had planned to get back to this thread before we left, but just didn't get it done. So many things going on. But we are home and had a wonderful trip. We owe our children big time for providing this trip for us. We left a beautiful, warm Hawaii and came home to snow and it has snowed constantly since we got here. Brrr. Apparently we had a bunch of power outages while we were gone and neither of our computers would turn on when we got home. Something to do with the Auxiliary Power we have them connected to. Both were turned off, but didn't want to turn back on. Tonight we have them both running. I haven't caught up on the old thread yet except that I saw the # of pages maribeth did at her retreat. Wow! I am so impressed! I'll be back to chat after I catch up with what has been going on around here.

Kelly, congrats on 10 years together! Happy Anniversary! You need to hold on to a man who will go to a Michael's class with you!!
Cindy, how was the Pinewood Derby? I hope Bobbie's car did well. That's something I will really miss every year since we aren't doing Cubs now.
Mary Ann, I agree with Cindy. I'd go nuts if I had 3 big projects going, even with a "down the road" deadline. You are superwoman! Congrats to your son! I'm sorry you had to make that long scary drive. Glad you are all OK.
Lisa, I love the page you did for the scraplift challenge. What an adorable baby! Love your colors and layering.
Maribeth, I can't believe how much you accomplished at your retreat. Your pages are wonderful and so original. Keep them coming.
I need to finish laundry before school in the morning, so I need to run. I'll be back later!

Oh Nylene so glad to see you back! We did miss you! Bobby won all but one of his races and got two trophies and a ribbon, and Maggie won the family trophy!!! Bobby's one was for overall and the other was for the Weblo as he is the only one! Sorry to hear you came back to snow-we are in the 50's and will be 60 tomorrow but snow Thursday-wacky weather is making everyone sick!
Maribeth-you scrapped your fingers to the bone! I meant to get on here last night but fell asleep in my chair shortly after 8 and finally went to bed at 10 since I could not stay awake. I had been up since 3:30 as there was some confusion going on across the street.
Kelly-sounds like you and Ron had a wonderful celebration of your wedding anniversary! I am so happy for you both- It seems like you are the couple in the song Tea for Two! If you don't know the words let me know.
Waving a big Hi to everyone going to get ready for bed. See you tomorrow-I have been making cards and need to post them.

Happy Wednesday! Thanks Nylene for the new thread and so glad you are back. Continuing some projects around here so I hope to have fun. Waving hi to you all! Nylene- Welcome back or should I say Aloha! So happy you had a great trip. Can't wait to hear more about it and see some pics. Hopefully it was a restful time for you too. Maribeth- How are doing after your fabulous retreat? I am glad to see you blogged too. Wonderful challenge to post your first every lo. Cindy- LOL! Yes, my dh and I are a "tea for two" mushy couple. LOL! I guess that has helped get us through the good and bad times. I just watched the Doris Day You Tube movie clip of the song and I do like that movie too. The Superbowl is almost here. I have been watching some the pregame tv coverage and the game should be good. Also, I heard Johnny Manziel is being let go by your team. Then I heard the Rams were thinking about him. Hummmm, no sure about this.

Welcome back Nylene -- I'm glad you thought that Hawaii was wonderful! I can't wait to see a layout. Marybeth-- My only advice would be to break up the paragraphs a little more to make them easier to read. I like your blog -- your first post resonates with me. I've been frozen for about 2 months, and I think it's from my stuff not being perfect. I need to start getting those memories in the books, and stop trying to be too artsy. That will come later. Happy Anniversary Kelly, I wish you and Ron many many more. My son is doing his traveling for college auditions. He was in Baltimore this weekend and loved the Peabody Institute of Music. Next week he heads to Ohio for a week, then a week later he's off to Nashville and Montreal. He's doing all these trips himself -- he even organized them with minimal input from me (except from my credit card.) So I got to hear his chamber trio recital last week, and they were WONDERFUL. The music was really beautiful. So I finally have a layout to share, yay! Here it is: Iditarod Trail

Keep Thos MemoriesSee you later, I hope! Have a wonderful Wed! You first post was spot on. I have* gotten caught up in trying to make my layouts too much like ____ or ____ instead of just making them look like MINE! I have scaled back a bit. I still mat my photos. I like splatters and textures and stuff but my layers probably only go about 3-4 layers deep (if that). There is no one particular person who is my style but I do lean towards the ones that have a more simple look.

wvbeetlebug - I am so glad you have found your scrapbook "sweet spot" I hope you will participate in the challenge and share your first layout with us. That first layout that we all made was the beginning of this wonderful journey of Memory Keeping. I think everyone has a special place in there heart for that very first layout.

maribeth, you did a wonderful job on your first post. So spot on! Congrats on getting it started. I don't remember my first layout. I started scrapping when I was in High School, pretty much like the CM way. After finding CM, I scrapped our trip to Japan so I could probably pull out the first one of those I did. My style hasn't really changed much. I try some of the fun new stuff, but always fall back into my comfort zone and prefer to tell a story so I usually journal a bunch. BTW, the reason you write like you talk is because you don't have TIME to take a breath! I don't know how you keep going, girl! Hang in there. Hi, kellyr21, glad you are getting to do some fun things today. I am still recuperating. I want to make some more BINGO games for some of my little readers so I will work on that today. I had one little boy yesterday say, "I really missed you. Now what is your name?" LOL! They don't really call their tutors anything. We pick them up from class and take them back to class so they don't really refer to us except as "my reading teacher". LOL Hi, sweet Cindy, ( scrapincin). Congrats to Bobby on his Pinewood wins. That's so fun for boys and their dads. They had a family category too? What a great idea. I always felt sorry for our girls who sat around watching the boys win. The girls would have loved to make a car and race it. Congrats to Maggie too. I am sure you are excited for the Superbowl. I plan to have that time alone in my scraproom to just scrap away. DH usually just watches it here and we don't have anyone over. Very low key. We do buy him some treats, but he may not want to since we ate so much in Hawaii! Somehow I didn't get home from Hawaii with my cell phone, charging cord, cord to my camera and a fanny pack. Can't imagine where they would go. I was so tired and half awake when I unpacked and DH thinks I just put them all in a weird place, but I've looked everywhere. I can't download my pictures from my camera without the cord, so I may have to go find another. My cell phone is an old flip phone which was never used or even turned on while we were there. So it is no big loss, but I wish I knew what happened. Our luggage was searched and had a card inside saying so. The last time I saw my camera was in the fanny pack. Discouraging! I hate feeling like I was irresponsible or inept! Well, off to get something done. Have a great weekend if I don't get back!!!

Happy Friday Pokeys I am in Santa Fe New Mexico today, tomorrow I am attending a Scentsy event, but I am really here to see my BFF who also sells Scentsy, and I haven't seen here is several years. I have been taking photos today of National Register of Historic Places for my project. nylene Thank you for your kind words on my blog and for following. Please upload your very first page, my blog is all about celebrating our scrapbooking journey. I hope you find your cord, would love to see your photos. Gotta go, but hopefully I can be back later.

Hi everyone. I'm doing a drive by waving. I will catch up on all of the goings on around here soon. I started rearranging my craft space last week - ugh, I forgot what a chore it is. The contractors finished their end Friday and now our Work has begun. Hopeful to have painting finished by Tuesday or Wednesday and then I'll have some time to come catch up. And my daughter was referred to an ENT and a pediatric GI specialist. Still trying to figure out what the heck is going on. But January was a horrible month. The nausea med that didn't work for her is the same meds given to cancer patients for nausea. Thus the 2 referrals.

Good Monday morning Pokeys. Sorry I was unable to get back to you this weekend, it ended up being quite busy. Friday morning was soooooooo cold while I was out taking photos, I had to hoof it on back to the hotel and warm up. Luckily they had a huge fire going in the fireplace so I warmed myself up before returning to my room, where I worked on my Valentines cards. SF HH Fireplace-1 by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr I got them close to done, just a few finishing touches and address the envelopes and I can send them out. Will have to work on that tonight. (The hubby needed a bit of attention when I got home so I couldn't seclude myself in my scraft room and get them done). I went out again in the afternoon, and the wind had stopped. It was not "warm" but the sun was shinning and did provide a bit of relief from the cold. My BFF from high school arrived at about 5:30 and along with her Scentsy team members that came with her we went to dinner at Olive Garden (not my pick, I don't do Italian), it was a 45 minute wait. Santa Fe on a Friday night.....not a surprise. Saturday was the actual Scentsy event. It began at 7:30. It was a day of Rah! Rah! Rah!, Sell! Sell! Sell!. I have to admit I don't really work my business the way I should. I became a Scentsy consultant mainly to get a discount on what I buy. I love the product soooooo much. But I do wish I could be like the other woman and actually be able to obtain customers. Scentsy is pretty much like scrapbooking to me, I have such a passion for both, and I am so disappointed that I can not find others in my area (Scentsy customers could be further away) that share my love for these things that I could bond with. After the event my BFF and her sister went a got a Pizza and had a couple of drinks and talked for hours about our childhood we even walked our old neighborhood together using Google Maps. It was really nice. Sunday I started home at 7:00am and was home around 8:15am. It's funny, Santa Fe is really close, but for us it always feels like we are going on a big trip when we go there. Going to Albuquerque which is not that much closer (different direction) to us is a routine drive. I hung out with the hubby all day, made some guacamole for the Super Bowl (I was rooting for the Panthers, so I lost again), and then went to bed. Now it is back to the arduous work week. Hubby's BDay is tomorrow so I need to go get him a little something today during my lunch hour. Get my cards done tonight so I can get them in the mail, and I am already dreaming of the weekend. LisaDV glad you are getting close to completing your home improvement project, that will be a great feeling for you when it is stamped DONE! Did you take before photos so you can share before and after's with us. I trust all the Pokeys are doing well, and I hope you all have a wonderful Monday.

Happy Tuesday to everyone, I'm still in house work mode, but breaking to catch up a bit here. Going back to January. maribeth, I laughed out loud about your keys. Totally something I would do, especially right now. And your husband rocks! So sweet to prep all those meals for you. AND WOW! for all of your fabulous layouts completed at your retreat! I always feel so good when I get a day to scrap and get 2 layouts done. I'd be on cloud 9 for a week with that many. scrapincin, I love your birthday layout. Is that a purchased title or did you hand make that? kellyr21, happy belated anniversary! Glad you enjoyed your day inspite of the rain. nylene, sorry you had to come back snow, misplaced items, and your computers not working, but really glad that you had a great time. maryannscraps, love your layout. Your son is so responsible. It will be a tough decision.

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are having a nice day today. I got a little cold that is almost over. Yeah! It did interrupt some of my weekend plans but life goes on. Last night, I was so glad I was able to go to my class at M's. It was to make a Valentine's banner. There were four of us gals and the banner turned out cute. I will share some pics. Next week there will be painting and drawing classes. I can always learn something new so I hope to go to one or both of those. Thanks for all the anniversary congrats. We did have a good time and still have one more place to go to finish our celebration. Maybe this weekend we can go to that lovely mall I was telling you about. Maribeth- What a fun time you had with your bff and friends. What did you make for your dh's birthday? My dh's bday is coming up too, in March. I gotta plan for that too. You have had some nice outings lately and I hope you feel refreshed and rested. Happy for you. Lisa- Sound like you are making real headway on your home. My home deco is coming along. I still have lots of small improvements to make and that will be fun. Nylene- Snow??? I an sending you some of our warm sun today. It is almost 90 degrees today. Waving hi to you all!

Hi Pokey Folk! Happy Wednesday. I'm kinda pokey this morning since I shoveled snow for two days in a row and feel it. So here I sit with a nice cup of coffee and a cat laying across my wrists (please excuse any typos, they belong to Percy.) I'm done with winter. We had Friday and Monday snowstorms and school canceled. Now it's just cold and dreary. Blah. LisaDV I'd love to see pictures of your home renovation -- are you scrapping it? When we built our house 20 years ago, I started taking video of the progress. But I had to stop when my video sessions started into "#$%^ foundation people aren't here again!" and "stupid framers almost burned the house down before we even had a house." It was too painful a process for me to document. kellyr21 I'd love to see your banner. You always have such beautiful projects. maribeth I'm glad you had a fun trip to Santa Fe, and the hotel looked beautiful. That's a destination I've always wanted to see. nylene Hope you found all your cords and connectors so we can see some Hawaii pictures. I sure could use that right now. I'm sick of the white stuff already. Well, it's an empty nest week with DS gone. So quiet here. I'm very glad I have two cats and a dog to keep me company while I'm working this week. I just got another project added to my list that's due in April. I'm glad to keep busy with work -- I have college tuitions to pay! I'm slow on the scrapbooking -- I'm taking journeygirl's scrapbook organization class and my room is a little upside down at the moment. Have a great day Pokeys.

maryannscraps, I started reading your comments to me and thought, "oh, videos would be a great idea!!" and then kept reading... I really laughed out loud. Yep. that's how it works. We were supposed to have started and been finished before Thanksgiving. I guess I should have specified 2015 not 2016. Silly me! Also, our winter has been so mild compared to last year, and yet, I too am SO DONE with it. It sounds like you know how to relax and beat the cold with Percy there. One of ours frequently walks across the kids laptops and occasionally has been known to get toggle buttons turned on that take us forever to figure out. kellyr21, we want to see the banner, please. I saw that my Ms had a free painting and free drawing class next week. I was really hoping to go to one, but... we'll be leaving next Tuesday for a short jaunt to a larger town (2 hours) as the GI specialist already got my daughter in for next Friday. Don works there 2 days a week, so we're going down with him. I think we're going to try to hit a museum or something on Tuesday and then we'll get to relax at the pool on Wednesday and Thursday and give princess a chance to recover from the drive. And since the dogs (read new puppy) will be at the sitters all week, we're hoping to see Kung Fu Panda 3. We know how to live it up!, I tell ya'. We're doing Sibling Cooking Wars at our house on Saturday. Our own rendition of a mix of cooking shows. We gave them 3 ingredients they have to use: pork loin, sweet potato, and pineapple. All ingredients have to be used in between their main dish and side. One has to be used in their choice of an appetizer or dessert. So I'm off to the grocery stores this morning to get anything I don't have or am running low on from their shopping lists. Hope all the Pokey's enjoy their day!

Good Morning Pokey's I have been kind of MIA lately. I have been working on the February sisters/BFF mailing, and getting back in the grove with work. Busy week trying to get all the documents organized to ship to the CPA after our day long meeting on the 3rd. And since I was gone on Friday it set me back a bit. But I am not complaining, I am so thankful I am getting some time off. The Bosses leave today and will be gone tomorrow for hunting pigs.....okay I guess they enjoy that kind of thing. I am caught up at work right now so I may have time to play a bit on the computer, maybe get my next blog post out, organize some of my photos on Forever, gather info for February challenges around the net, I hope I hope I hope, I can get those worked in somewhere. I watch the National Register of Historic Places weekly list where they list the recently added places and they just added the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs. We were there in 2008 and I have a photo of it. Too bad they already put a photo on Wikipedia, I was hoping to get mine on there. Oh well, at least I can print it for a scrapbook page in my NRHP series. 100_1000 by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr Will share the page after I get the photo printed. I just wanted to share something with you all today. Have a great one!

I have not been a very good hostess so far this month. I'm sorry. I am just having a hard time catching up with everything around here and keeping up. I am still feeling really lousy and will see an allergist on the 18th. Just the nurse practitioner, because the wait for an allergist is into March. Each day it gets harder to breathe.
Our son came over and spray painted a floor plan on the snow in our back yard. He is going to build a workshop for Steve so the woodworking will not be in the house. That's got to help a bunch! Steve was resistant at first, but now is really excited. DS is contracted to build a home a few blocks from our home, so he will be around often and hopefully it won't take forever. (Wish I could send him to you, Lisa!) He's having his subs put together numbers to see how costly it will be. Hopefully it will be something we can afford.
Maribeth, I love the photo you posted. What beautiful historic places you are finding. I still haven't made it to Provo to get the Tabernacle/Temple photo, but will soon.
Lisa, I hope the GI doc can be of help to your daughter.
I finished 2 layouts during the Superbowl weekend, but haven't even had time to scan them. I am determined to vacuum up every nook and cranny upstairs today to get as much sawdust out as possible. I run out of air just doing half a room, so I'm sitting down to take a breather between rooms. I promise to check in more often. Sorry I've been so flaky!
Waving a big "hi" to Kelly, Cindy, MaryAnn, and all the rest of the Pokeys. I hope you are each getting some "me" time to scrap or play.

Happy Thursday! Hope you all are having a nice evening. I wasn't feeling that great this week but glad today is better. So I will be playing on my craft table later. I want to finish my banner and work on a few cards. I really am in the cardmaking mood and wish my lss was still here. The pp I get at M's is so thin and one-sided and I miss my double sided paper. I probably will shop online for some but I like to see it in person. There are a few lss around so I may have to make a special trip. That does sound like a fun trip! LOL! This week, I went back to the beginning of my blog post and have been reading them. It have been awesome just going back down memory lane. I started my blog in 2010 and I remember how you Pokey Pea gals cheered me on as I took that leap. Now after all these years I am still going. I do want to remodel my site at some point but for now I am good with it. Nylene- I am sending you some warm wishes. I hope you start to feel better and give yourself permission to rest, play or do whatever makes you happy. And maybe this will make you giggle, my Christmas tree is still up! LOL! This is the longest I have ever kept it up and I still love it! LOL!!!! Maryann- Oh you are not alone! You got your fur babies to keep you company. Good to see ya too. Lisa- I wish you could take the M's class too but check the schedule because there seems to be more in March. I hope you have fun on your trip and hope your sweet little dd feels better. Hang in there! Maribeth- Girl, you are on a crafting roll and that is so great! Glad to see after your recent scrapping events you still enjoying and finishing up the February projects. Go Maribeth!!! LOL! Also, that hotel looks magical up in the trees. Awesome!

kellyr21 , I am glad you are feeling better. Hope you are up and ready to craft or scraft so we can see your work. I totally agree about the paper at Michaels being so thin and not double sided anymore. I really miss the beautiful papers we used to be able to buy. Our closest LSS now is in SLC and I don't get there often. The AC warehouse has nice papers, but you buy either a paper pad or 50 of the same sheet. (which really is OK for me) maribeth , you are doing a great job on your blog. I think it's like anything else, you do what you can, when you can. I wouldn't worry about a scheduled post for a while. I will go check out the Scrapbook Challenge. I struggle using sketches because they are usually 12x12 and my 8.5x11 brain has a hard time translating! My Christmas page fits the simple with a story layout. Actually, those are my favorite layouts to do. I still have more vacuuming do do upstairs, so I'll post my layouts and get back to work. Have a great day, everyone. Our Heritage Tree by Nylene Budge, on Flickr Hello by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

maribeth, I can't seem to get your 2nd layout on your blog to pull up so I can comment. Did you post it here in the gallery? I found the other one, but not the black-eyed peas.

Good Saturday morning Pokeys. I am planning on a productive day today - wish me luck. I want to finally get all the household items I removed from the house for holiday home decorating from the RV, and get the RV linens washed and put in. It has been so warm here we are thinking of going to a nearby campground next weekend (that is if the weather holds). I want to organize, organize, organize, today. I love to organize. So wish me luck I hope I can get everything done that I want to, it will free up my other time so I can feel free to work on projects. Here is my official first project for February. I put it on my blog yesterday, but for those who don't visit there, this is a page for my Project 365 spin, where I document those wacky national day of...., or On This Day In History, that sort of stuff (by the way you should see my typing this post, my cat is sitting right in the middle of my monitor and I have to keep looking around him to make sure I have not made any typos - LOL). Back to the page - So this is the first time I participated in the tradition of eating Black Eyed Peas on New Year's Day. I am including the recipe in the album as well. This page also serves as my challenge entry on Scrapbook ChallengesIMG_0806 by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr nylene - off to leave some love on your beautiful pages. Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.

Happy Saturday to all of the Pokeys! maribeth , oh, that hotel is magnificent! wow. And yes, I am blessed with my family. I went to your blog and commented there, but didn't tell you how much I love your black eye pea layout!! It's gorgeous! I can't even fathom going to a campground. It was 8 yesterday and is about that today. Even the dogs go quickly out and don't play. That's cold. Good luck organizing. kellyr21 , I love your blog, what do you want to change about it? Those butterflies on the side are super cute (I have a thing for butterflies!). Glad you're feeling better, hope that continues. nylene , LOVE your pages, as usual! Will leave you some love after this. Hope the allergist can give you some relief too. Your husband having an outside workshop will be awesome! Hope it works out for you. I'm cleaning a bit in the craft room, and enjoying the Sibling Cooking Wars. They've done a fantastic job on creativity. DS needs to work on timing: his side was served at 3:30ish and his main dish had to be sent back to the oven. (The goal was meal at 6pm). But flavors have been great. And they have to clean up too. Win-Win for me!!! Off to the gallery and then off to clean a bit more.

Hi Pokeys Wow, I can't believe I skipped posting yesterday (Sunday). I worked my booty off this weekend. But everything is out of the RV, almost everything is in it's place (my scrafts room and hall bathroom are the only rooms still in disarray) The beds are made up in the RV, all the extra towels we take (we are a bit obsessed with taking extra towels ?) are folded and under the couch, much of the kitchenware is in the RV, but I have to wait for hubby to put the new shelf liner he wants to use. Hubby serviced the RV being sure everything was in working order and ready for travel. While working on the RV, we also tackled garage organization and cleaning. It feels really good to have gotten all this completed, but I can't believe I didn't even say Good Morning to the Pokey's yesterday before I started. I decided I should share a photo of me from yesterday: house cleaning by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr LOL! Well it is 3:24 so I have a little time before I have to start getting ready for work, so lets see what I can get done in this mess of a scraft room before I go. Have a wonderful Monday Pokey's!
