I seemed to have accumulated quite a lot of 6 by 6 paper pads. Sometimes it is the only way to get my hands on a collection (like at Tuesday Morning) and sometimes I want ALL the papers but don't want to pay the 12 by 12 collection price.
The problem is using thembup...since they come with 2-3 of each pattern.
So are you addicted to 6 by 6 paper pads? Have you ever used one up? They are often advertised as being "perfect for cards" but I don't think I've ever used one for that!

You're right. They are totally addicting and I have a heap of them to prove it. That said, no I have never used one up completely. However, I use them enough that I've used up the equivalent of several 6x6 paper pads. I rarely use them for cards, wish I could do better with that. I primarily use them as layers on my layouts.

I love 6x6 paper pads. For a long time I just collected them, but lately I've actually been using them. Last night I used several sheets of a MME Lost & Found Blush paper pad. The papers are so beautiful I felt like I could pull out random papers and they'd go well together. I'm working on two layouts with it and love both of them so far. I have used up an entire Echo Park Sweet Girl 6x6 paper pad up to two little strips. I felt so accomplished. I used most of it on an explosion box. Jen Schow's 6x6 paper pad series is great. I think Scrapbook Generation also has a class, but it's not free. Besides that there is tons of free inspiration on Pinterest for using up those paper pads.

I've never used an entire one, but I have some held together with binder clips. I use them for layering, using punches, or cutting apart elements. I especially love when there are little boxes to cut apart with saying or shapes to use for embellishing.
ETA - I really love the OA 8" pads...

I love them as well. Don't think i have every used one up yet, but I will. I do find them perfect for cards and use them a lot on those. Use them for layouts as well. Jen Schow's video series is excellent.

Another vote for Jen Schow's videos. They really helped me start using mine. I have used my 6x6 papers a ton lately.

I used an entire pad once by making sets of simple notecards for a group of friends.
Used pre-made card bases, cut the 6x6 into a 4.25 x 5.5 piece (a2 size) for the background of the card. Used the excess strips that were cut off to layer on the cards. Some had a strip going horizontally, some vertically. Lots of variation since all of the patterns in the 6x6 pad coordinate with each other.
Layered the branding strip on top of the other strip. Added a sentiment or other sticker on top of the "hole" in the branding strip.
Tied 4 or 5 cards together with a ribbon.
Fun way to use those "Oh I have to buy it because it's cheap at Tuesday Morning" pads.

I have 4 pads that have half a dozen or fewer sheets left. I don't have a articulately large collection and I keep them in with my scraps so I flip through them often.
I mostly use them for layering and in pocket pages.

I also love them!! I find they work perfect for making cards. They are actually about all I use for patterned paper on cards.

I have used a couple 6 x 6 pads down to the last few sheets (why oh why is it so hard to just dump the last sheets???), but I have *ahem* several more that have hardly been touched. I am primarily a cardmaker, so they are perfect for me - none of the large, unwieldy patterns that you find on the 12 x 12 pads.

I use mine for cards, too. I can use my CM slicer on them and put together cards while we're all watching a movie. It's a really good size for me.

I use mine up in pocket pages/project life. I like the scaled down patterns for PL and it only takes one quick cut to have a 4x6 pocket card.
I second the suggestion of Jen Schow's 6X6 paper pad class. She shows some really good ways to use them up.

The problem is using thembup...since they come with 2-3 of each pattern. Just so you know, sometimes they do not come 2-3 of each design, sometimes you only get one. And very often you do not get the whole collection because they include the B side as one of the designs. So there is a very good chance the design your really, really like will not come in the 6x6 pad at all. I usually try to check for any youtube videos of someone flipping through the pad, so I know what I am getting. Unless I am buying right when it comes out, I can usually find someone that did a haul. ETA: Well I just saw that you have some already, so I guess you would know that already. Oops!

I make cards, and have recently moved to the 6x6 pads. Its great. The design is scaled to the right size for cards, it's easy to use the pad up (I watch Kristie Marcotte blast through a complete pad of 6x6 in one youtube video), and I have a lot less craps.
I am careful what pads I buy. I do sometimes see that the company just shrunk a major scrap booking 12x12 design down to 6 inches and it's so small that it doesn't make sense to make a card out of it. So I do watch what companies I buy the 6 inch pads from.

So are you addicted to 6 by 6 paper pads? Have you ever used one up? I wouldn't say addicted (denial?) but I do love them. They are much less expensive, and the pattern's proportions for a 8.5x11" layout (my most commonly made page) is better than a 12x12 pattern paper. I have used several up. I think they are perfect for layering. I can easily use two whole sheets of 6x6 paper to cover most of a 8.5x11" sheet of cardstock, and then work from there, layering my photos. 6x6 pads also usually have sheets that I would consider embellishment sheets, that you can cut apart the separate images, pop-dot them, use them as embellishments on your layout.

I love them! I have a hard time resisting them when they're 1.99 or 2.99 at Tuesday Morning. This time last year I think I had 2-3 of them and now I have probably 15-20! But I worked my way through Jen Schow's 6x6 pad class and also the one by SG last summer, so I've used quite a few pieces of paper from them. I've only used one totally up. It was an Echo Park Simple Life one. I made 2 single pages, a double, and a ton of cards. And I layered, wallpapered and otherwise used a lot of paper on them. So it can be done! I think the appeal for me is the ability to get a collection without having to spend a lot. I can get the 6x6 pad and one embellishment packet or sticker sheet and feel like I have a lot to work with.

You guys inspired me! I pulled out my 6x6 pads last night and I'm using them for a layout. I also used one for some punched shapes.

Thanks for that, I was trying to remember this series, as my stack has been growing lately
I plan to use them in my pocket page style layouts, thinking the smaller scale would be a better fit in the 3x4 and 4x6 sizes...but for now, I am pretty much just collecting

I try not to buy a lot of them because I know that's not how I usually scrap and I just don't get into card making. However, I have used up an entire pad several times doing batch type scrapbook pages. You know... Choose several background pages from card stock or my other patterned paper, choose 3-4 6x6 to go with, divide out any matching embellishments I might have. Then I usually make pages and then find photos, but of course the opposite works as well. It works for me when I want to use up a line.

I probably have 6 or 7 6x6 paper pads. The intent was to use them more for divided sheet protectors, but I forget to look through them. I'll have to look at the youtube videos because I find them hard to use. I don't know why, it's just paper!

Jen Schow has a series on her YouTube channel about designing with 6x6 papers. Thank you so much for the recommendation! I had never seen her videos before, and she has some great ideas for using 6x6 pads. Currently working on my 2nd page scraplifted from one of her videos.

I'm sure I have well over 100 of these little suckers. I should count them. I bought a huge lot of them one time on Ebay and I think there were 70 or 80 just in that, maybe more (it was about $100 shipped). So I still have most of those, plus I have to have bought at least that many more since then. I probably bought the big lot of them maybe 4 years ago?
I use them fairly frequently, not as much as I should, though. I have definitely used up at least 4 or 5 pads completely, plus I sent about 4 or 5 to somebody who really loved and coveted a bunch that I happened to have.
I took the SG class, or part of it, and got a lot of ideas for using the papers from that. I also highly recommend the Jen Schow series.
Probably more than anything else, I use them to make cards.
I could probably scrapbook for the rest of my life with just 12x12 white/cream/kraft/black cardstock and my huge collection of 6x6 pads. I mean, I also have the rest of my hoard plus I buy stuff fairly frequently so it's not going to happen...but I could...

OK, I went and counted. There are probably a few lurking in kit bags, but I did remember to go look through my Christmas stuff, which I keep separate from everything else. I counted 136. I think I have more packages of Thickers, though.
