Only halfway through, but it is another keeper, IMO.
I am creeped out by the trash golem.

Loved it! Can't believe it's almost over. Surely they'll do more.

I thought it random to show her mother dying in the middle of the episode, then she runs back to work to find the trash golem. But I guess they needed a segway for them to discuss their child. I forgot about that. Can someone recap, were they romantically involved? Why'd they put him up for adoption?
Did they catch the trash golem? Or was it like last week where it just resolved itself? I think I turned my head while they were calling the last guy he was after and then the episode ended.
This episode made me wonder, do cities ever hose homeless people like that?

Yes, they were romantically involved. They put the child up for adoption because he had alien DNA and was showing ET abilities. They didn't want the authorities to find him.

This episode was a little confusing for me. I think after last week, anything would have been a bit of a let down.

What did the mom say to them? I couldn't hear. I know it was about their son.
One of my top 3 favorite episodes was the HOA golem episode. Classic!

Scully running off to work after something traumatic happens is not unusual for her. When her father died in season 1, she went back to work and Mulder was concerned she wasn't giving herself time to process things. Then, after her alien abduction she quickly returned to work again. She was abducted by a crazy killer soon after the previous alien abduction. It was only after that, she broke down. I'm not at all surprised she felt the need to go work again after her mother died. It's a character trait. Scully powers through her trauma, whether that's healthy or not.
As for the monster of the week wow, I hate golems! I loved the murder to Downtown. It's a flashback to the old episode Home, where a couple was killed to another cheerful old song, can't remember the name.
I loved the way Mulder referred to not doing stairs, and Scully saying she used to do stairs in heels and Mulder saying " back in the day? Scully, back in the day is now!" It's hard to think there are only two more episodes left. It's been a real nostalgia trip!

This one really bothered my daughter, I was more concerned with her, than actually watching. She's seen me in those circumstances that Scullys mom was under. Not good for her.
I really didn't understand the whole creature thing. Cliff notes anyone?

Mom said "I have a son named William too".
I loved this episode too, felt like it flew by though! Always loved the MOW episodes the best. I am so sad that it's almost over. I am really hoping the response has been big enough for them to consider bringing it back for another season. Does anyone else have the feeling that they'll be back 'together' before this is over? I really hope so. At the end when she was saying how she knew he would get the answer to all his questions and she would be there for it, it made me think it was a declaration of some kind. I was crying while she was talking about all of her unanswered questions though, very well acted!
AH! I love the X Files!!

I just binge watched to catch up. OMG. They have done SUCH a good job! So far my favorite is the horny toad lizard man, will watch that episode a million times. I got teary a couple of times last night though. If you watch Supernatural at all, there's a ton of cross-over from X-Files. Maybe that's why i love both shows like I do!

Mom said "I have a son named William too". I haven't watched last night's episode yet. But does anyone else remember that Mulder's father and Scully's father were both named William/Bill? It's a natural that they would have named the baby William, too. I remember getting excited about that at the time. (My late husband and his grandfather were also named William, and that's my grandson's name, too.)

If I remember correctly they first got together in season 7 and though Mulder was mostly off the show for the next two years I think it was implied they were on and off during that time. Then in the first movie they had been living together since the season finale in season 9. I think that took place about 6 years after the final so that would mean their romantic relationship lasted 8 years. They put William up for adoption because Scully did not feel she could keep him safe. They had been told he was part alien and aliens needed him and would come after him. I remember being really upset at the time because Scully had already lost her daughter that she hadn't even know was hers. I am such a nerd!!!

The first movie took place between season 5 & 6 in 1998 and the final movie took place in 2008, Seven years after the series ended

Such a goood episode! Good ending! Hard episode to watch for Scully. I was a little confused on the creature thing this time too. Glad I wasn't the only thing. Dh had to explain it to me. I thought about the name William for her dad but I wasn't sure..

I loved the murder to Downtown. It's a flashback to the old episode "Home", where a couple was killed to another cheerful old song, can't remember the name. The song you are trying to think of is Wonderful, Wonderful by Johnny Mathis. "Home" was the most disturbing X-Files episode ever. I only watched it that once - I couldn't bring myself to ever watch that one again.

Absolutely awesome episode. And if you're an original XFiles hipster, you will have noted the homage to two things:
1-The tombstone Mulder leaned against was that of "Kim Manners," who was an original producer of The XFiles; Manners passed in real life; he died in 2009.
2-The outfit the lizard guy pulled off the dead guy and wore? TOTALLY an homage to Kolchak: The Night Stalker; it's the exact type of clothing Darrin McGavin wore the entire Kolchak series. Chris Carter is a huge fan of that series and acknowledges its influence on his creation of the XFiles (headless motorcycle man, anyone?).
