O.k. all you Project Lifers convince me I can do it. I think instead of weekly I will do a spread a month. I know my biggest stumbling block will be getting my photos printed. I do not do that on a regular basis. I guess it's just something I need to get in the habit of doing. How do you all handling picture printing? Also how do you keep track of things you want to make sure you add into your layouts?
Help! Give me your best tips.

I think most of the peas agree this is the most unfavorite part of scrapbooking. Do you want to edit your pics? Do you mostly use your phone? Do you want to print them yourself or upload to a local store where you can pick them up? You might get some helpful responses if we had that info. I use my camera, edit them on my desktop and upload to a online company like shutterfly...whoever has a good sale and get them in the mail. Some times I have to bribe myself to sit down and do it.

I did monthly PL the last couple of years and printed photos myself for the convenience. My process was to keep track of photos/events with the Collect app and via Instagram then towards the end of the month decide what pics I wanted to use, edit and print them ready to go.
If you get into a bit of a routine that'll help.

When I did it monthly I just kept a word doc where I would type up journaling during the month. When it came time to do the lo I would edit the writing if needed then just print and add to my page.
I'm lazy when it comes to photos so I don't usually edit. I print at home for these projects to make the most of my motivation.

I do not edit photos other than size if I print at home. When I started in 2012 I did monthly, then I switched to strait chronological in 2013. For 2016 I'm going to try weekly just because I've never done it that way. I'm not committed to a 2 page weekly layout. One page will work if necessary. I keep track using my camera roll, Facebook, calendar and I keep a small paper calendar that I update every couple of days. I keep a 12x12 page protector in the front of my album and throw all my memorabilia in tat until I'm ready to scrap it.

Ohhhh! Good question! I am so glad you're doing PL! It's seriously the best I second that printing at home makes your like a billion times easier BUT I did an entire year printing at Walgreens (not recommended) and Costco (much better). I take all of my photos with my phone. At the end of the week, I would add the best ones to a folder on my iPhone called "to print." I could see them all together and edit if needed. Then I put the verticals as two 3x4s on a 4x6 (I can explain this further if you want) and sent them all off to print at Costco before we ran our errands on Saturday. Every week. Then once my errands were done, I had the previous week's photos in hand and I could start scrapping! It wasn't perfect or automated to be sure, but I always got the photos printed that I wanted to include! Then after I sent everything to print I added my photos to my computer through iCloud and deleted everything off my phone to start fresh next week.

I order prints from Persnickety Prints every 6 weeks or so. I do weekly PL spreads, but since I outsource my photo printing, I don't work on it at the end of every week. In the mean time, I make notes in a planner--almost more like a journal-- with what is going on each day, funny things my kids say and do, etc. That way even when I'm working on a spread from 6 weeks ago, between the photos and my journaling, I have a pretty clear memory of what was going on that week. A lot of times I copy the journaling from my planner straight into my PL.
Good luck! It probably took me 6-8 months to find my groove with PL when I first started, so once you realize what your hangups are, don't be afraid to tweak it to make it work for you.

Mostly phone pictures. I can print at home with my printer, but I usually don't because of ink cost and quality. I think I will probably upload to somewhere local to pick up rather than mail order. I feel I will do better at keeping up with it if I'm not waiting on photos to come in the mail. Photo printing is definitely my most unfavorite part of this whole scrapbooking process.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. Seems like I am just going to need to get a system going and adjust as needed.

I am a planner. I would probably pick the pictures and write which ones go on which pages. When I ordered, I would just go back to the pages and see what pictures I originally wanted. I get my pictures from Sams which is about 7 minutes from my house, so it isn't a big deal to go. Walmart is right next door, so if I have to wait, I do a little shopping.
