Do you ever get to a point with your Thickers or other letter stickers, where you are okay with tossing the remaining random letters? Or do you have any ways to completely use up a pack? I've never completely finished a pack, and I think I would have a really hard time tossing a pack that still had letters on it. But on one of the other threads, a few people mentioned only having X amount of space for Y, meaning they had to use up some product before they would buy more. Which I totally understand, and I am fine doing that with things like paper, basic embellishments, etc. But how does that work for letter stickers? Do you ever get to a point where you can for sure say there are not enough letters left to be useful? The basket I use to keep mine in is basically full...but there are still several colors and styles that I happily continue to buy, because I know I will use them, even though I don't ever seem to "use up" any of the ones I already have. Anyone else in this situation? Maybe I just need to buy a 2nd basket, and not worry about it??

I have been known to make a "background" paper (or section on paper) with random alpha letters, to use for layering. It's good for school layouts.

I used to want to use every last letter but I've gotten a lot better about tossing things when they're no longer useful. Now when I get down to the last of an alpha I look for words that can be made with the letters left. I'll write those words on the packaging and then actively look to include them in my titles. If the only words left are not ones I realistically think I'll use then I toss what's left without guilt.

I don't use any up either. I do need to do something about that, though. On one of my process videos, one person commented that she uses leftover Thickers instead of pop dots. This sounds like a good idea once you aren't able to spell any words with them.

I actually went through and got rid of some the other day. I was getting frustrated that I would have to look through 15 different packages each time because none of them had all the letters that I needed. My scrap time is limited and that wasn't how I wanted to spend it! I got rid of the ones that were out of both A's and E's. Some I kept the numbers if I thought I would use them for dates on my PL spreads. If I REALLY loved them, I made some words that I thought I would use on the packaging and then cut them out and put them in with my die cuts.
But, I agree...it's kind of hard to throw them away knowing that I cold probably have gotten more words out of them! I like the suggestion to use them as pop dots. I might have to do that in the future.

I will mix and match alphabet stickers to make a title if needed. Once I don't think I will realistically use them anymore I will toss them. I get a ton of use out of some of the tiny alphas. I am amazed at how long some of those last.

I know I have mentioned this, but if you use Prima inks on the mixed colors of letters, it unifies the look. The ink acts like paint and cover the letters really well. If you get the metallic inks, they look really cool.

I Frankenstein the letters (like make an "n" from an "h" by cutting off the top) a lot. I mix & match. Sometimes I paint or ink them all the same color. I've also embossed them with embossing powder to change their colors on a mixed alpha /font title. It looks really cool.
But even then I have tons of alphas that have been in my stash for years and years. It seems I rarely toss any!

I have gotten much better at tossing partially used packages. I use as much as I can, then trash it. It is way too frustrating to go through package after package and not be able to make it work.
ETA - I love tiny letters, too. My favorites are OA...I have a ton!

I have a bucket labeled "ransom notes" where I throw useless, oddball letters. The idea, of course, was to someday make a funky title mixing them up, but that's not really my style. When the bucket is full or I need it for something else, I'll dump it.

No. I even bought the magazine that came out years ago that was supposed to help you use them up. LOL

No, I never have. I like the idea of mixing & matching, but it never looks right when I try it, so I've given up on that idea. I will Frankenstein the letters, like alissa103 mentioned, but once I've exhausted all those options, I usually toss them. Definitely going to try LavenderLayoutLady's idea and make background paper. Love it! I have a ton of MM's alpha rub-ons that are now useless and I'm going to try that w/them. Thanx for the tip!

Thanks for all the ideas ladies! I have definitely frankenstein-ed letters before, and I've tried coloring, but I still need to look for the Prima inks and maybe a copic or 2 for this. I like the idea of using spare pieces for pop dots! Along those lines, I'm thinking I might start cutting up odd letters to use as small embellishments - almost like square Thicker "enamel dots". I think I will also try the idea of a letter background for a school LO. I'm thinking that might be especially nice for a LO about DS's kindergarten handwriting. Honestly, the more I think about it, I don't have a lot of letter sheets that are that close to being used up. I'm afraid maybe the problem is actually that I already have plenty, and should stop buying for a while!

of course not. hardly anyone does. and that's how the manufacturer's want it or they would provide you with extra letter "e"s to give you the best shot at finishing the sheet

I've never used up a whole pack of Thickers, but I do get to the point where there aren't any letters left to cut up or use so I toss them.

I never have. I'm currently annoyed with MM Pitter Patter stickers. I bought two sets so I had the chance to spell more words (they come with one upper and one lower case of each letter) and I am out of r's and I just opened the second set. Also it looks dumb to use a capital in the middle of a lowercase word...
I bought a die cut machine so I wouldn't have to deal with letter stickers but I still buy them...

Attach random letters in various fonts & colors to backgrounds, journaling cards, tags, etc. Use letters as a mask with mists or paint on backgrounds, journaling cards, tags, etc. Alter letters to form different letters (e.g. B becomes b, d, l, P, L, or E) Use individual letters to highlight first &/or other words in journaling (e.g. use a W letter sticker to begin the word "When") Challenge yourself to create titles using the remaining letters (e.g. ZZZZ) Donate used packs to daycare facilities, church preschools, after school art programs, children's hospitals, etc, as permitted
