So we just got home from the theater. I did not think I would like this movie at all , I just wanted out of the house.
But, omg it is funny! Definitely not for kids and not for prudes.

My 11.5 year old wants to see it. We are pretty liberal with movies at our house but Deadpool seems pretty hard core for now, albeit extremely funny.

Got my tickets for Sunday. It is one of FHs favorite characters. DS is going with us but he is 19. I usually don't go to movies but since he was really looking forward to it I decided to go too; maybe I'll like it.

We are going to see it tomorrow. We are meeting DS at the theater. DS doesn't live very close so he insists on a "movie date" with his parents each month. We meet at a theater in the middle of us. <3

I read a review that said this will be the movie most attempted by teenagers to sneak into. (that's kind of an awkward sentence, isn't it? )

(that's kind of an awkward sentence, isn't it? ) Yes, my turning 15 year old wanted to see this with his friends, and based on the detailed description of the sex scene, I had to nix it. Definitely not your typical Marvel movie a family might go and see together!

This is our date night movie this weekend for Valentine's Day... Us too. Very excited. and yes, it's not your typical marvel film. Some of the geek podcasts I follow are saying essentially this is a risk Marvel is taking/personal project of Ryan Reynolds. The flip side of that coin is that the fans need to turn out and show Marvel that a darker/ R-rated marvel film will work outside of Netflix.

BF and I are going to see it on Valentine's day. From what I am hearing it earned the hard R rating for a reason. I still can't wait to go see it. Deadpool was never meant for kids in the first place, it's nice that they followed through on the movie.

DD and her boyfriend are going out to dinner tonight and then seeing it. It is the first date without parental drivers.

I saw a posting yesterday from DeadPool/Ryan Reynolds asking that parents not take their underage kids to see the movie. The reasoning given was that the movie wasn't intended for younger audiences and if kids went and the parents protested afterwards about how inappropriate the movie was, there would be no sequel. This would be unfair for those who were of an age to see the movie and wanted a sequel.
DH and I are going Sunday. I can't wait!

It's rated R, so no parent better complain if they take their kids and don't like what they see. Deadpool is a very dark comic book. I'm glad they are staying true to the comic books, and not giving a watered down version. Deadpool's sense of humor are a key part to his character. I just don't see how they could make this anything other than R. My husband is taking our 16 year old son. Our soon-to-be 14 year old son is begging to go, but we told me no for now. He's just not ready. In case anyone wants to read more about the movie to see if it's something your kid could handle, read here. I think this will be helpful. www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-reviews/deadpool

We saw it last night. DH was dying to see it. I was happy to go along for shirtless Ryan Reynolds and movie popcorn.
It was funny and kept me entertained. Not as naughty as I was expecting with all the hype, but definitely not kid appropriate. More graphic violence than typical superhero movies, and I really don't like violent movies, but it was funny enough to get past it.
My kids are huge comic book nerds and my 14 year olds are mad that we won't let them see it. My 17 y.o. will see it this weekend, but there are going to be some awkward moments for her! I was definitely judging the parents who brought their 10 year old last night.

I think there are going to be a lot of parents appeasing their pre teens/ teens and taking them and I just don't want to deal with it. A couple of recent experiences are the kid that asked his mom questions all the way through. The woman who had to loudly identify every actor on screen. etc... I'm not normally a snot about films but people - shut up already or wait until you can watch it in your own home and chat away! I seriously wish there were a Deadpool app to make him break the 4th wall and call out those sort of people. I'm going with DH, DS and some friends.

Now I know I am going Ryan Reynolds has said it's "mostly him" in the nude fight scene. I saw a blurb about the makeup artist who applied the scar tissue to the nether regions. Interesting!

So my DH is getting all "protective" and doesn't want me offended. I'm like "dude, I know there is sex and nudity and fighting, I'm good". I get that some people might be shocked but honestly I'm expecting it and I believe the humor will make it.

My 16.5 year old dd is a big fan of Deadpool and has been long anticipating the movie. She's read the comics so she knew it would be raunchy.
Her friend's mom took three girls out to dinner and to see it. She LOVED it!!! I think they all did. I hope mom knew what she was getting into.
