So it's not bad enough that too may people don't bother to yield (when there's a sign telling you to do so), today I encountered someone who actually beeped at me repeatedly because I was yielding to the oncoming traffic. That's right. This moron was actually furiously waving me on while cars were speeding by me. Yes, I'm going to risk a 10 car pile-up and my own death because you're in a hurry.
I can't.

My gripe is all of the people who have to check their phone at a stoplight and then don't pay attention when the turn light is green. Those lights are short enough that I need everyone focusing on the road. Sometimes just one car will make it through a light. Really, what text is so important that you can't focus on your driving?

That's sort of the opposite of an intersection right by my office. There's one direction where there is a dedicated right turn lane that creates a new lane on the next road. (Does that make sense?) So right as you're turning you have your own lane with a protected white line for 100 yards. You aren't supposed to yield. You don't have to yield. Just turn right and keep driving at speed. It drives me crazy to be sitting behind someone who is stopped in that right turn lane "yielding" to traffic that isn't even in their lane. Locals even do it and there is no excuse for that.

I hate that. I've noticed it a lot around here lately. It really makes me mad when people do not yield when I am exiting.

My gripe is with people who come to a stop instead of speeding up to merge on the highway. Those idiots are dangerous

Couple of my vents have already been mentioned.
I hate when someone absolutely needs to move into your lane right at the time you are next to them, making me step on my brakes, and then they stay in front of you for a few miles. You couldn't wait for a bigger space to move over into?

His time is way more important than yours, that's why you should have risked your life for him! Being sarcastic of course! At least it was you in the front. If it was him, he probably would have pulled out in front of someone and caused an accident. So, you may have saved someone's life today. I hate jerks on the road. We encounter them almost every day, just in our community. One of the major reasons I was in no hurry for my 18 yr. old to drive. I trust her, but not the others on the road.

You couldn't wait for a bigger space to move over into? I have noticed lately that more people seem to think you owe them that space in front of you just because they put their blinker on. I don't get it. When I want into another lane, I either speed up or slow down depending on the speed and placement of the car next to me. I also make sure I decide I need to get over in plenty of time so I don't just force myself in front of someone else.

I have to go through 3 four way stops to get to my house, it is rare I am not enraged after my trip home from work.

Yes, yes, yes to everything mentioned! My gripe is with people who come to a stop instead of speeding up to merge on the highway. Those idiots are dangerous Right? There is a difference between yield & merge. Learn it, people! His time is way more important than yours, that's why you should have risked your life for him! Being sarcastic of course! At least it was you in the front. If it was him, he probably would have pulled out in front of someone and caused an accident. So, you may have saved someone's life today. I hate jerks on the road. My father says this all the time, lol. That and "Well, they're busy, you know!". Last year, I had a guy pull up next to me at a light and roll down his window to ASK ME why I didn't let him get in front of me. The guy in front of him was making a left and he didn't want to wait, I guess. He had had put his blinker on & was edging out and was truly put out that I wouldn't slow down (thereby forcing everyone behind me to hit their brakes) to let him get in front of me. Seriously. You just can't make this shit up.

I have a couple of friends that do believe that their blinker on is to tell you they are coming, not a request. I hide in my seat when I ride with them.

I have two spots that drive me nuts. At the first, there are two lanes that come upon a railroad track. The right has a sign that allows people to stop on red then proceed. The left has a sign that tells people to stop on red. Period. People constantly honk when you follow the directions.
Coming out of my neighborhood, there is a new 3 way light. In the mornings, this backs up a good 1/2 mile. I turn left across on-coming traffic at this light, so I should wait until there is no on-coming traffic to turn (or possibly do some synchronized turning). I cannot tell you how many people who are turning right stop at this intersection treat it like it is a stop sign. They come to a full stop and seem surprised that I don't want to cross in front of them. I want them to get the heck out of my way! If I were to cross in front of them and they changed their mind and hit me, it would be MY fault for being where I shouldn't have been.

My driving vent is about speed...Dear driver - The signs that are along the roadside at regular intervals are for your information....they signify the max speed at which you may travel and, funnily enough, they change according to the road you're on. The upshot of this is that you are not meant to pick a speed and stick to it regardless because this inevitably means you are frequently speeding and sometimes dawdling!!!! Drives me batty!!

Oh, one more, there are a few parking lots that I visit that have 2 or 3 way stops. People don't realize that cars coming in from the main road do not have a stop! Aargh! I do blame that though partly on the developers of the parking lot. But don't the drivers remember that when they entered the lot they didn't have to stop?!

My only vent is the people who zip around and IN FRONT of a car then immediately turn right. I had a great trip to south Florida and back recently and didn't encounter anyone who was pushy at merge time. We all blended together without a single problem. It really surprised me.

I agree with most of these!!
My morning commute to work is city streets, to avoid the highway, and I would have thought that most people on that road are doing the same thing-- driving on that road every day to avoid the traffic jams on the highway... apparently not, though, because I go through one roundabout and it annoys the snot out of me when there's a car in front of me that doesn't realize a roundabout is NOT a 4-way stop. The person will just stop. and sit. and wait... and wait... and wait... and they take forever to finally INCH their way into the circle because no one ELSE is stopping!

I do blame that though partly on the developers of the parking lot. But don't the drivers remember that when they entered the lot they didn't have to stop?! My vent is actually related to that, as I just ran out for lunch and had to stop, when entering a shopping center, because the car in front of me decided to stop at the first intersection, where the incoming traffic does not have to stop, but every other direction does. Around here, it's fairly standard for incoming traffic to have right-of-way, I assume it's done intentionally so traffic doesn't back up onto the main road if the shopping center gets all eff'd up. But regardless, it causes all sorts of issues, mostly because people aren't paying attention and/or on their phones while driving (which most people cannot do well).

Our mall has that and they even have a sign on both of the stops that says 'incoming traffic does not stop' and people still pull out in front of the incoming traffic

We've had several roundabouts put into busier intersections in our neighborhood in the last few years. The people who don't live in the area are extremely obvious because they don't know how they work. I've been behind one car that was desperately trying to turn left instead of following it around, and almost caused an accident. A lot of times I get behind one who is so afraid that they wait until all the traffic has cleared out before they move into the circle. My favorites are the ones who are in the circle, but stop at all the yield signs to let the people who are supposed to be yielding, in!

Twice today I had my blinker on to turn into a parking space while waiting for someone to pull out and the person coming the other direction pulled right into the space.
I was very upset, like key their car or tell them off upset, but I didn't. And I wasn't able to find another parking space nearby either. Both times I had to drive some distance distance before I found a lot with a space.

Thankfully, I didn't enter it the wrong way, but I still hate them!

There is a strip of highway coming into the city from my suburb that has a 65mph speed limit that extends back approximately 80 miles. The highway passes my suburb, then heads into teh city -- still 65mph. When it crosses the city line, the limit goes down to 55mph and then in a mile, it goes down to 45mph. My vent is about the drivers who are apparently anticipating slowing down to the 45mph speed about 5 miles back. They abruptly slow down and go 40 mph in a 65mph zone. Why, why, why?
And then there are the weavers....

People who leave their brights on and blind oncoming traffic.
No one in my town seems to really stop at the stop signs. They do the Jersey roll instead.

my driving pet peeve are connector roads(you know the paved road piece in the middle of a divided highway, say if you are turning into a road to your left or turning all the way to go back the other direction)... people will go to the wrong side ALL THE TIME.. drives me crazy.. you are supposed to go to YOUR right hand side, which is the far side, that way you can see the oncoming traffic, but noooooo people do it wrong all the time, drives me batty.

My driving vent today (I seem to have them daily) is the guy that was driving a Porsche while he was playing with his phone. I honked him (I was next to him) but it didn't do any good. I'm thinking, whoa that's one expensive car to have wrapped around a tree. That wouldn't be the worse thing to happen though. I look at that he's putting other people at risk with being a distracted driver.

My driving pet peeve is people who see a green light, but there's already a backup of cars on the next block. No matter they block the box by driving up behind the last car then the light changes to red and they are stuck there.
