This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sorry to be so slow getting this posted tonight. DSIL fixed my computer so I can go view kellyr21 's new art video. Yeah! I am anxious to see all the wonderful layouts you have finished, maribeth . That is more than I do in an entire year, I think. Congrats on just sticking to it and keeping your pages of each album uniform. I read through your blog, but didn't get a chance to post. But I will. I got my quilting frames out of the basement for our meeting last night and they were covered with sawdust. (stored under the stairs the last 2 years) DH used his compressor to blow them off so I could take them. I should have left the basement while he did that! I don't think there is any question what my allergy is. Suddenly my throat is tight, my ears are full and my nose and eyes are drippy. I hope a few days of staying completely away from the sawdust and using all the allergy products will help! That's what I get for being in a hurry to load them as soon as they were clean. I will be back tomorrow. It's great to start another month! **Be sure to check out the last few posts for February. Some great projects.

Happy March and Wednesday! I hope your week has been good so far. I have been in Spring cleaning mode. Maybe Maribeth's cleaning bug hit me too. I got a lot done this week and still have some to do. I hope to get some good pics of my front room so I can show you all my window valances and deco. It does feel so much better and bright in here. Maribeth- Hey I saw your layouts and you are really on a roll. I read your stories and you lived here in So Cal. How neat! I used to live in La Palma so I know where Stanton is. Glad you have been able to get some time to scrap like this. SO fun! Oh, how was camping? Nylene- Thanks for our new thread! You really keep us going. All that sawdust sounds like it really bothered you. What a mom won't do for her kids. LOL! At least all that sneezing is for a good cause. So glad your sil helped you so you can see my art video. What a good man he is! Waving hi to you all and hope you have a terrific day!

Thanks for setting this up, Nylene.
I managed to finish 4 pages and a card today. Posted 2 of the pages over at Calvinball, one of them in the 2Peas Gallery. Two pages I can't post because the adoption of dd's son is not yet finalized, so I can't post any photos of him on any public sites.
Can't believe how much Maribeth is posting over there. I love to play with paper, but no way am I getting up that early in the morning to do it!
Won't be doing anything crafty for a few days. I have work on Thursday, and then on Friday I am driving to Calgary to visit with kids and grandkids for the weekend. Then work again on Monday.
Hope to get back into scrapping next week. it felt awesome today!

Good afternoon everyone! Hope all is well with all of you! Thanks to Nylene for the thread and the great care she takes care of the Pokey's!!!! Tell your DSIL Thanks for keeping your computer running for us too. I definitely think you know your main allergen /or irritant for sure. Good detective work GF!
Today is Maggie's 12th birthday. I have a gift for her when she gets here after school and then part of it will go to her Saturday at her family get-together. They are having a taco bar!
You are not going to believe where I was last evening. Went to a game dinner at the Izaac Walton League dinner. I do not mean game as in checkers. I mean game as in critters! I had walleye chowder, venison goulash, pheasant and dumplings and last but not least roast MOOSE!!!!! the one thing I did not try was barbecue beaver...I just could not go there. It was all very good the moose really tasted like roast beef.
I really need to get busy and get some of these things scrapped. I have birthdays, pinewood derby races, shooting awards and all to do.
Need to go over to the gallery and lok at all the creative things you are posting. Will be back later.

kellyr21, I don't have words to describe how excited I was about your Art Show. You are incredible. So beautifully done and so professionally put together. You haven't been painting for very long and you have really been bitten by the artistic bug! I'm loving it. I need to check out Studio 6. I've never heard of it before today. scrapincin, Happy Birthday to Miss Maggie! Wish she and Alyssa lived close enough to do things together. I hope her family party goes well on Sat. I had to laugh at your "game" dinner. I grew up on all kinds of game so I've never been squeamish about trying things. Beaver, however, maybe not! Dad shot a lot of ducks and mom would cook a roast, then grind the leftover in a grinder and add mayo for lunches at school. Other kids had tuna, I had duck. I loved it. It sounds like you have a lot of layouts in your head. Just finding time to do them is often the problem. I'm anxious to see your Pinewood pages. grammadee, I am going to check out the gallery here and hope to see the pages you can legally post. Congrats on the adoption of a new grandchild. I'm so sorry that life and work have to get in the way of this great hobby! LOL! Glad to see what you do when you get time. maribeth, I love your pages posted on your blog. I can't read the words, so I hope you will post them here too. Sorry I didn't get on the ball and get this posted on the 1st. I can't believe that you have accomplished so many pages already. I don't understand the whole Calvinball thing you and LisaDV and grammadee are participating in, but I can't wait to see all the results of your scrapping! Keep up the good work, Pokeys!

Hello, scrapincin, Hope Maggie has a terrific birthday. And I'm so jealous of your Izaac Walton League dinner. I've never had moose. My freezer usually has venison in it. And I've had or purchased everything but moose. Was it tasty? My husband wanted to join the group but I can't remember where we were that had a league close by. nylene, Stay away from that sawdust! Hope the meds get you through it quickly without any other infections. And the calvinball thing is really just to motivate you to scrapbook, like a crop. They'll talk smack on their boards, but I was really just trying to use it to get some layouts finished, since I haven't accomplished much with the house work. I'm fighting a cold. It's not fully developing, but it's not going away either and I have absolutely no energy (just going up stairs to switch the laundry requires me to take a break and sit down). And Even Worse is that I have no mojo for scrapping. It's getting frustrating and ticking me way off. I'm plugging away on my swap cards because they have to be postmarked by the 8th and I already had the plan in my head, but no time. I just have been working if small spurts. Although I should get sick more often, the kids have cleaned the living room and my son has been keeping the dishwasher emptied without my nagging. And when Don got home last night at like 8pm, he cleaned the kitchen counters and did the hand dishes. Once I feel better, I think I'll continue to be sick for a couple of days to really enjoy it. LOL. Not really, Don started laying the hardwoods out today but didn't have as many nails as he thought. He'll pick some up tomorrow and Saturday we'll be trying to see how far we can get. Waving hello to everyone. Waving hi to everyone. Waving Hi to everyone.

Thanks for the love in the Gallery, Ladies!
If you are interested in the Calvinball references, go over to Get It Scrapped and check out the Calvinball Gallery. I have 2 pages and a card over there, but it's a pretty busy place, so my items posted Wednesday morning are a long way down on the thumbnails. Maribeth has a ton of entries there too, also near the bottom.

Happy Friday morning Pokeys. LisaDV - hope your cold does not take hold. I was fighting one right before we went camping last week and I was so glad I beat it before it came on full strength. Everyone at my office has the sniffles this week, but nobody seemed to be down and out. So good luck, hope that is all that hits you. scrapincin - your dinner sounds great, I would love to do something like that. Not chapters here, I checked. grammadee - great start at CalvinBall, keep the momentum going, love seeing your work. kellyr21 - yes I was born and raised in Southern California. Spent my childhood in Garden Grove (I already had that page made so that was not in the group I posted. I will be putting all the pages once the album is complete on my website so you can visit all the places I lived in sequence. Lots of memories doing this project. nylene - here is a link to my Album on my Flickr page for the CalvinBall submission. You might be better able to read the journaling there. Everyone have a wonderful Friday. I am hoping to scrapbook all weekend, and keep my numbers up for CalvinBall.

grammadee, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend with your sweet grandchildren. If you get a chance to post your layouts here ( even after Calvinball is over) we would love to see them. I got lost in the Get It Scrapped site. maribeth, I so enjoyed seeing and reading all your journaling on your pages. All I can say is that I am so glad you are in better circumstances now and have a man who loves you so much....that he cooks for you! Keep those pages coming and thanks for the link so I can leave a note or 2. scrapincin, the allergies have tamed down again now. Not totally gone, but I'm wondering if Flonase once a day would be OK. I am getting so dried out that I'm worried about nose bleeds. I knew my "personal allergy nurse" could give me direction! I do use vaseline to help lubricate, and I'm staying away from the basement. LisaDV, I hope you are not getting a full-blown miserable cold. However, you may want to stretch out the symptoms for a while so your kids and husband will step up and help without being asked. How great that they will do that. That's good mothering, my friend. But....please stay well! How can you scrap when you are sick? kellyr21, how is the weather in your area? We have had some beautiful Spring-like days....I just knew you were sending me sunshine! But we are expecting a storm again tomorrow. This morning I attended the funeral of a young man (a neighbor) who was in one of my Church classes and my Cub Scouts when he was young. He took his own life. It has made me so sad. He was the smartest child I have ever taught and had such a fun sense of humor. Breaks my heart for his mom and sisters. There are some really hard things in life. Better run and get something done. Have a wonderful day tomorrow and a great beginning to a new week. Waving to Mary Ann, Jana, Dani, Tina and others we haven't seen for a while. Drop in when you can!

Happy Sunday evening Pokeys - Hope you all had a great weekend. Busy day playing Calvin Ball, completed another 26 layouts you can see them at my Flickr page. Total of 56 pages so far. And I also washed and detailed my Jeep Wrangler and did all the laundry so I feel I had a pretty productive weekend. See you in the morning.

maribeth , WOW - 56 pages!!! You ROCK! nylene , so sorry for the loss of your neighbor. I think suicides are the saddest deaths. It means that the person had absolutely no hope, and it always makes me so sad, even when I don't know the person. Hugs to you. Prayers for your neighbors. I finished my swap cards and I was able to get 2 layouts kind of completed over the weekend. One is for the Stash challenge here. But here is the swap and the other page for Shimelle's online crop. She posted the challenges over the weekend and you have until next weekend to complete. JournalSpotSwap by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr Themes in order from left to right: Spring, Summer, Winter, Anything Goes (valentines) MorningSnugglesw by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr That black die cut has been floating around my desk for over a year so I was super excited to use it. Hi to everyone. Hope you have a happy, crafty week.

Good Tuesday morning Pokey's I completed four more pages for CalvinBall this morning. No time to photo and post though. Quote for the Day: It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. Author: ~Charles DickensThis kind of sums up our March here thus far. Hope the weather holds for camping this weekend. A four-dayer!
LisaDV I have seem some of your projects over at CalvinBall. Great Job. nylene I am sorry for you and your friends loss. Suicide is so difficult to understand. I come from a family of those who battled (thankfully successfully) with suicidal ideations. I actually struggled with it myself for a brief time. People that know me now can not conceive that I ever once felt complete hopelessness.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

nylene , I am sorry to hear about your friend. I hope you are feeling better with your allergies. The cedar/juniper has been high in my area making mine act up. My eyes are improving little by little. My eye doctor is thrilled that I decided to have this surgery. She told me she was concerned about the health of my eyes because of my contacts. Everything is healing still and my vision has improved enough that I can read 20/25-20/30. It is still blurry but improved enough that I am back to driving my car! At night, I do let DH drive since lights are still bothering me a little. I am having to adjust to monovision. I told my doctor I want to cover my right eye to see close and my left eye to see far away. She said my brain has to adjust and to give it time. I sure hope my brain does adjust so I won't need reading glasses. I haven't needed them yet but since I am approaching 43 in a few months, they wanted to do this since I would need the in the next year or so. I have introduced DH to geocaching. He is addicted! That has been fun for us to do together. My sister let us have a bike she has had in her garage but it needs some work. Someday when we get it fixed, we will be biking and maybe geocaching!

Good Thursday Morning Pokey's knutschen - Glad your eyes are improving. Even though it may feel like slow going at least it appears to be forward progress. How fun geocaching, I have always wanted to do that, bu hubby is less than enthusiastic about it. Something about pokey around other's peoples property bothers him. Have a wonderful time and great adventures. Well I am off to my first 4-Day camping trip of the year. My poor bosses, even though my assistant is in place, the are still just devastated at the thought of me being gone. I really am not that integral to their business operations, but they sure think I am the only one that can take care of things. I guess I have spoiled them these last 20+ years, by doing just that, taking care of things. I guess it is nice that they feel this way, but it makes me feel so darn guilty when I want to take time off. Quote for the day: A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in. Author: Robert Orben
Well said Mr. Robert Orben!
Pokeys stay well and be happy and I will see you on Sunday.

maribeth, nice quote!! Enjoy your camping trip! I got up and went to the gym this morning. DH wanted to find another geocache but we came up empty handed. It was a mystery cache which you have to solve things to get the coordinates. I was excited to find it since this was the first one I had solved but we couldn't find it. Since it was raining, it was muddy so I just ended up with dirty shoes that I need to clean. I hope the next one is a success! I don't have to much planned today other than a camera club meeting tonight. I am coming up to working a crazy schedule of 2 12's, one day off and then 3 more 12's and then mandatory meeting on next Friday. Boo. I will be exhausted by then!

I finished and photographed the 5 pages I did at the LSS yesterday, and posted them all to the Calvinball gallery Wish Bonus points, added up to 15 points over there.
Tried to upload the same 5 to the 2peas gallery, but kept getting the message "Timed Out". Managed to get 3 loaded eventually.
That's all for today. My 2010 Ford Escape sold yesterday, so I need to drive to a nearby town to pick up the cheque, then back to our local town to cancel insurance and deposit the money.
May take another swing at the Gallery this evening.
Have a great Thursday!

maribeth, I love your quotes. I think your bosses must think you are indispensable. That is a great position to be in, but it means that you worry anytime you are gone. Twenty years of working for them...no wonder you know it all!! Did you hear a loud shout from my house. I was so excited to read that you are heading out for a LONG weekend of camping. I know you have been so eager! Hope it goes well and that you have a great time. Jana, knutschen, I am glad your sight is getting better. I struggled for a while after cataract surgeries. I have friends who have the mono vision and they love it but said it took some time to get used to it. I'm sure it will get better every day. Your geocaching sounds like fun. I'm sorry you got muddy and didn't find the cache. I'm glad that it's something you and your DH can do together. Good luck on that crazy work schedule. That would do me in! grammadee, did you get a new car? I will go look in the gallery and see if I can find your pages. Five pages takes me a whole month. You must be speedy like maribeth. Nice to see you. How was the visit with the grandchildren? I need to run. I am spending the day making cards for our Church auction. I have such a mess in my room. It will take a major overhaul once I finish all of these. Have a great rest of the week and weekend. We are digging footings for our shop this weekend, so I may not get back to the computer until Monday.

grammadee , did you get a new car? I will go look in the gallery and see if I can find your pages. Five pages takes me a whole month. You must be speedy like maribeth . Nice to see you. How was the visit with the grandchildren? I purchased a new Ford Explorer LAST year at this time. I put my little Escape on the market last spring, but just when I started to list it, the bottom fell out of oil prices and that drastically affected jobs and employment prospects in this region of the country, so no one was wanting to spend or borrow money unless absolutely necessary.
In June, I put the car on consignment at a local Ford dealership. They have had a few lookers, but no takers until this week. I had dropped the price in the fall, and had to drop it only another $500 for these people who LOVE the vehicle just like I did.
Thanks for the love in the Gallery, Nylene. I don't see myself as a speedy scrapper. Some days the time, opportunity and mojo all flow together and then things happen. It took me a whole day to pack for an afternoon at the LSS, and I ended up with 5 pages after finishing a couple of them at home. Nowhere near as speedy as Maribeth!
It was a quick visit with the grandkids, but I got to see all 7 of them that live in that area, go to a playoff hockey game, take a couple of kids shopping for bd gifts, go for brunch, and snuggle the baby. Pretty successful visit, I would say!

Just a quick note to let you know I am still a pokey! I have been under the weather for the past 3-4 days. Last night I started with a croupy cough and ended sleeping in my chair. I cough so hard I feel like I can't get my breath. The doc started me on an antibiotic hope it works! My ribs are so sore It really hurts to cough. I will eventually make it to the gallery to leave you some love. Getting off for now!

Hello Sunday evening Pokeys
Back from my camping trip. I got 27 courthouse pages completed on the camping trip. Hopefully I will photograph them in the morning and get the posted to Flickr and CalvinBall.
It was a great trip, we practically had the entire campground to ourselves. It is a campground we have been to once before (when we began camping in 2012). We had wanted to return as at that time we were not able to complete the hike because we thought sure we heard a (mountain lion) growling at us. This time we completed the hike and had a wonderful time (although the nights were very very cold).
See you in the morning.

Welcome back, Maribeth! You are a dedicated scrapper to take it along when you are camping!
I finished just 3 pages this weekend, and I was at home! Have another one laid out on my scrap counter, though, and Monday is my last day at work--forever I think--so I should be able to get crafty later in the week.
I didn't get fired: I retired from a full time job 11 years ago, and since then I have been taking on term certain contracts from a local college, delivering adult ed programs. But this contract is over March 14th, and I don't think I will be accepting any more. Works takes too much time and energy away from spending time with grandkids and then scrapbooking about it!

scrapincin , I hope you are feeling better! kellyr21 , I am sorry to hear about your computer. I hope you get things retrieved! I just went through that in January. nylene , I hope you had a productive weekend with your project. maribeth , It sounds like you had a productive trip! Hiking sounds like fun. I have been wanting to go back to HaHa Tonka to go hiking again someday. It is about 1 1/2 hours away. grammadee , Enjoy your last day of work and then having time for the grandkids. I am at the coffee shop relaxing. DH connected with a college friend tonight. I am glad he finally got in contact with an old friend. He is just in town for a few days and goes back later in the week. I am tired and will probably sleep till it is almost time to get ready for work again tomorrow night. Last night was a rather calm night at work which I haven't had in months! It was nice for a change. I am sure Monday will be a different story! It always seems to be busier with new surgery patients. I hope everyone has a good week!

Hi Pokey Folk-- I've been MIA with too much work and too many events with my son. All fun! I haven't even stepped foot into my scraproom, and have not unpacked from my Feb scrap. Things should be easing up after the 31st. Mind if I slip in a photo from my son's concert yesterday? I've been getting plenty of fodder for his scrapbook! This was his chamber music concert at the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, MA. I think it's the most beautiful recital hall on the planet. Oh, and the Mozart was excellent, too. maryannscraps, thanks for sharing that photo of your son. I remember how crazy the end of the school year gets when kids are involved in a lot of activities. We are glad to see you checking in. Good luck getting your scrap stuff unpacked and getting back into the mood...no rush. Just post what you do so we can enjoy it too. scrapincin, I am glad you are doing better. Have your ribs stopped hurting from coughing or are you still coughing? Sending prayers and hugs to you and hope you are considerably better this week. Tell your grands to help Bob take good care of you. knutschen, how are the eyes doing? Glad you had a slower night at work. I am glad you got some "me" time and hope you were able to sleep in. Take care of yourself! maribeth, I am soooo glad you got to enjoy the camping trip. I'd just like to know how you finished so many pages, completed your hike and still had time to have a wonderful time. You amaze me! Glad that it was great and that it wasn't crowded for you. grammadee, did you post your 3 layouts here? I'll go check to see if they are there. If not, why don't you do it when you get time. It can even be after Calvinball when you have more time. Oh, kellyr21, when I read about your computer I wished I could send DSIL down to work on it. Then I read that Ron's work gave you a laptop. How wonderful! I hope that will work out for you. I can't believe how lost I feel when my computer acts up. I didn't think I would ever be that dependent on it, but I am. We now have a big rectangle dug into our backyard. Our DS, Eric, came Sat. with a backhoe, a Bobcat and a huge dump truck. Getting into the space between the house and the neighbors' fences was a bit tricky but Eric handled those machines like a pro. He dug the footings for the wood shop and was finished by early afternoon. The dump truck took 2 loads to a close area needing fill dirt. I found out later that the dump truck driver was one of my little Cub Scouts about 25 years ago. I didn't recognize him all grown up! I'm still working on cards for our auction. I decided I might as well make 8 more of each set of cards so I will have Card Club cards made ahead of schedule. When things get crazy it's nice to know I have my cards already made. So I have made 60 cards so far. I am having a great time doing it. I'll post some of them when I get finished. I hope you all have a great week planned and that you accomplish all you want to do. Stop by when you get a minute!

Good evening Pea Refugees! Just a quick stop to let everyone know I am still alive. I was coughing so bad that my ribs and abs are so sore but on the whole I am improving. Today has been my best day in a week. I even had a little energy. So here's hoping I will be back to normal really soon. I have a lot ton read and catch up maybe tomorrow. I did see that Nylene has construction going on, Kelly had her computer crash and the rest of you are scrapping like crazy! I will get caught up and spread some love around those pages! BBl

Cindy, it is nice to know that you are feeling somewhat better. I hope the coughing is less intense today. Hang in there and don't overdo. We miss you but would prefer you REST! I have finished a layout for the March Scraplift/Sketch Challenge here at 2peas. I loved the example and the scraplifted layouts posted so I made one too. I've never braided paper on a layout before. I know it is bright and wild, but so is Alex! Taking him along when we go out to dinner is a riot. A Sweet Treat by Nylene Budge, on Flickr This was fun to do. I haven't sewn on a layout for a long time but my machine we set up from my card making so it really helped to hold the strips in place.
