1) how long have you been coloring? Did you buy the supplies, start, then stop? Do you leave it for periods, then pick it up again?
I've been coloring 8 months. I started when I was all stressed out selling XH's equipment, and needed something to de-stress. I probably only work away at it a couple times a week, often when I'm watching tv.
2) Are you slow or fast?
I'm super slow. Some pages have taken me a month, but usually it's a couple weeks. It seems as I contunue, I'm developing a style, although that wasn't my plan, and it takes longer to constantly switch pencils and blend, etc.
3) do you finish every page you start?
I do. I'm not sure why, I think I'm just stubborn or something. Even when I'm getting tired of a page, and am excited about a new one, I make myself finish the one I'm working on first.
4) How many if any coloring books do you have?
I'm trying to stop at 3. They each have a lot of pages, so at the rate I'm going, I won't need any more for decades.
I'm pretty picky about what pages I color though, so I'll have no problem getting rid of the books when I'm done with the pages I like.
5) do you download pages to color? If so, do you pay for some or stick to free ones?
I've only printed off three, and these were free. I have a bunch of free ones on my Pinterest board.
I've seen some beautiful pages for sale though, and would have no problem paying the artist if I decided to use one. At the rate I'm going, one page could be a week's or more enjoyment
6) What, if anything do you do with your finished pages?
I'm actually kinda proud of some of the results, and would like some ideas for using them that wouldn't be weird or show offy .
7). Do you ever color with children?
This has been great for me. I'll sit at a table with my grandchildren and we are all contented. I happily share my books, tearing out pages for them. I'm a bit of a control freak sharing my Prismacolors with them. I just make sure they know not to drop them. Now my granddaughters refuse to use the Crayolas, they like mine better!
8) have you gotten compliments from friends or family who see you as you work?
I must admit, I have a different situation. Most people who see me coloring away know about the issues I've dealt with these last couple years, so they applaud any activity that helps me relax. But some have been genuinely impressed by how some pages turn out. It feels good
9) Have you gotten anybody else started?
My DIL started a couple months ago. She is almost 7 months along with her first child, and has to rest more now. (Type 1 diabetic since early childhood)
10) have you been ridiculed for wasting time or doing something childish?
I was afraid of this, and I think some people have thought this, but haven't actually said it. I wouldn't really mind if they did, it's my thing. They don't have to like it.
11) what do you use? I know we've had threads on this, but more Peas may have started since then.
I love the Prismacolor pencils. I don't have the verithin ones, but I'm starting to think I might want some. I was lucky to already have a 128 pencil set from several years ago, so that helped. I also have a big set of Crayolas pencils. They're really not bad. Just don't lay down as rich of color. But I can get good results with them. I did a page with colored markers, but it just wasn't as satisfying to me.
12) do you watch tv or listen to music while you color?
I like to put on YouTube concerts or TED talks, as well as TV
Thank you if you answer my questions. I know this is fluff, but I'm curious.
