I have this tendency to buy produce because it's just so darned pretty, and then get it home and have to figure out what to do with it. My last purchase like that was a bag of beautiful yellow mini peppers...today it was a bag of beautiful yellow Meyer lemons. I know I could just Google, but I'm curious to know if any of you have any favorite recipes, savory or sweet, either for general lemons or specifically for Meyers.

Lemon Meringue pie! Lemon drop martinis, pasta salad dressing. We used to have prolific Meyer lemon trees. I miss that yard.

Ohhhhh, my mouth is watering just reading this thread! Meyer lemons are gorgeous but it's very rare to find them here. The first thing I check when going into the store is whether they have Meyer lemons even though I know the odds on that are minimal.

OMG, I was JUST thinking about that recipe the other day! It's been several years since I made it, but yes, it is fantastic.

I make strawberry lemonade all the time, i squeeze about 6 lemons and put 2 cups of sugar in water to boil. I blend about 12 frozen strawberries with the lemon juice and then blend with ice and the sugar water. I put it in a 96 Oz juice container from Costco and fill the rest with water. I make this when i get lemons from my inlaws asks have just finished a Costco juice and remember to save the container.

This thread is timely for me. I've been debating this question for the last two weeks. My husband gave me a small potted Meyer lemon last February for my birthday and right now I have 11 ripe lemons that need to be picked and used. I kept my lemon tree (all 18" of it) on my sunny deck this past summer and then brought it in when the temperatures dropped into the 30's and kept it on my unheated sunporch over the winter. It's back outside now and getting new blossoms already. Looks like we may have another nice crop of lemons next spring too. BarbaraUK, perhaps you can locate a potted lemon tree and grow your own lemons also.

These 3 are my favorite tried-and-true lemon recipes: Lemon Meringue Pie (the recipe is from an old cookbook, it's not on-line) Divine Lemon Squares
Lemon Yoghurt CakeIf I have more lemons than I will use I grate the rind then juice them, and freeze both the juice and rind (separately of course). ETA: You can also freeze whole lemons and use the juice after defrosting.

Great ideas thanks. I have 2 lemon trees and 1 Lemonade tree (kind of like the Meyer lemon it's a cross between lemon and mandarin) so am always looking for ideas. I do freeze extra juice though, and I love to make lemon curd/honey.

Many years ago, my grandpa brought some lemonade fruit and a lemonade tree home from Queensland. They were delicious. I'd forgotten all about them. I'm not sure a tree would grow too well down here in the southern states:

I have an entire tree full of these lovelies. At least 150 meyer lemons all getting ripe at once. I give them away to neighbors and friends.
