This crochet along looks like it will be amazing!
I ordered my yarn this morning from Wool Warehouse, because the shipping to the US from Jane Crow's shop was $28. For those of you in the UK, you will get a free exclusive pattern if you buy the kit from her shop and her shipping to the UK is free. I also decided to make it in Stylecraft Life DK, instead of Classic Cotton, because I need something that will take abuse and have a level of stain resistance. The Crochet Along starts on April 5th and the pattern installments will be available for free on the Stylecraft site. This crochet along appears to be geared for intermediate crocheters, not for beginners. What I have found working through her Lily Pond throw is that she doesn't always do things the conventional way and I had to rip out quite a bit on two of the earlier blocks because I when I read the instructions, I would do what all the patterns I've crocheted have done, but then I would find out that she wanted something slightly different - actually crocheting into each of the chain stitches in a chain space, for example, instead of crocheting over the whole stitch. So, her techniques can be trickier at times, but anyone with patience certainly can do them.

It is honestly one of the most beautiful crochet blankets that I've ever seen.

If you click on any of my pictures in the thread, they become larger and easier to see the detail.

It really is beautiful but much too advanced for me. I love her Mystical Lanterns scarf and wish you could just buy the pattern not a whole kit.

I consider myself pretty good at crochet, but I can't see myself tackling a project like that. It is beautiful though.

Gorgeous but I'm too much of a novice to take it on.

It's beautiful and I'm in awe of your mad skills if you can tackle this one. I think it's beyond my skill set.

Jane Crowfoot is amazingly talented. I like this one more than the Lily pond one. I have to wait to start it, though. Too many WIPs to finish before the babies are born. This baby boom needs to slow down.

This baby boom needs to slow down. I'm having fun with Lily Pond - I'm on Block 5 of 8 - it is a great color palette for me. But it isn't mindless, that is for sure. It isn't uncommon for there to be 3-5 switches of hook size all within the same block. I feel spoiled that block 5 uses just one hook all the way through. I'm bringing an attic 24 pack and going to work on a Cosy Stripe Blanket when we go to Florida over spring break, so I don't have to pay close attention. Do you know why she switches between Jane/Janie and Crow/Crowfoot? She uses one name on Ravelry and a different one on her blog and that makes me curious and never sure how to refer to her.

I still am left wondering why not name the company her legal name, but I'm sure she has her reasons that are none of my business.

I can basically do one thing, and haven't even tried about oh a million others. One thing I've learnt over the years is not to try walk before I can run. (Oh wait, was that me who did cabling on my second knitting project?! Ha.) I'm also a total flake so although I'm going great guns at the moment the crochet could easily drop out of favour at any time. I'm good with one day In the meantime I'll just live vicariously through/admire all the wonderful work of the Peas!

LOL You don't want to know what I would be tempted to charge for making something like that. ^^^ oh, I know what it would cost, lol-- or should cost, anyway, if people actually charged for their skills and time, as so many artisans can't do with things like this. (my mom hand-embroiders towels for sale in a specialty home décor store outside Kansas City; she never charges enough for her work, in my opinion...)
