I was bad and Bit the bullet and bought this in Turquoise.
I know, I know. I've been talking about downsizing the number of kitchen appliances I own on the pressure cooker threads, but I got suckered into hoping I will get crispy fries and onion rings with hardly any oil. And the turquoise will go perfectly with my turquoise Keurig machine. LOL! It's it's my birthday on Tuesday and this is my present to myself. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyone have any good air fryer recipes and tips to share?

Well be sure to let us know if it works as advertised.
ETA...you're a bad influence. I just bought one in black. The 5 easy payments did it. LOL

I'm intrigued by this appliance, but I think I'm going to pass on it this time. If you guys love yours, maybe I'll get one another time.

I really thought about getting one as I'm so bad at frying things in a pan/skillet - but I just don't know where I'm going to put it. I wanted the turquoise. Please do post about how fabulous it is so I can be swayed later!

I ordered one in Turquoise too. I have been curious about them for awhile and finally gave in. Meredith is working on a cookbook for them. It's due out in the fall. I hope I love it.

I'm so confused as if I need this or not. I've watched it be presented 3 times today! I'm lured by the turquoise one! LOL! My DH can't wrap his head around what it does...

I,too, caved and ordered the red. I hope I use it often enough to justify the cost. Hearing Meredith say she would have a cookbook for it pushed me into ordering.

Oh, the Peas did it to me again!!! I just ordered the Cobalt Blue... DH has been wanting a Fry Daddy and I just can't get on board with one of those. Hopefully this will give the results he is looking for when he craves something crispy.

I don't have one but I'm not sure that it is everything we think it is. I also watched it for a L-O-N-G time today. Mostly, they talked about foods that already have a crust on them. From what I can tell, it just a big glorified oven type thing. You shake a bit of oil on your already pre-made food and heat it up. I'm very suspicious because they never talked about coating your own foods and then "air frying" it. Please follow up and let us know how it works. I was tempted, I'll tell you.

I am curious about these too. They seem like just a small fan forced oven, what is the advantage of using one over using your oven?

I'm very suspicious because they never talked about coating your own foods and then "air frying" it. Please follow up and let us know how it works. I was tempted, I'll tell you. They did coat and air fry pork chops while I was watching. And they have this recipe book that comes with it. Most of the recipes involve making things from scratch. I do think it is similar to a high temp convection oven, but if it is able to get things like potatoes or breaded fish crispy without submerging them in oil, I'm good with that. The only way I cook my turkeys now is in an oil-less propane "fryer" on the deck. Turkey comes out crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and no extra oil is used other than to rub the bird down before I season it. So, I am familiar with the concept of "frying" using intense heat and very little oil - just what you coat the food with. But, who knows - it may be a bust. My boys will eat almost any vegetable as long as it is oven roasted. If I can do that faster and easier in this, that will make it worthwhile. I will keep y'all posted and if it is a success, it may have to join our weekly pressure cooker/ninja 4-1 thread!

II am curious about these too. They seem like just a small fan forced oven, what is the advantage of using one over using your oven? It takes 15-20 minutes to heat my oven to 400 degrees. This should hopefully be faster and also not heat up the kitchen in the summer. It definitely isn't a "can't live without" appliance, but I'm hopeful I'll use it. I'm planning on spiralizing sweet potatoes and air frying them as my first venture when it gets here Friday (it shipped already).

I couldn't remember which Pea was loving the Kitchenaid spiralizer attachment awhile back. I'm now the proud owner of that too. Love it though so thank you!

Did I hear kitchen gadget???
I've posted before about my weakness for kitchen gadgets. I have to store all of mine in big plastic zipper containers on shelves in my garage because there is not room in my kitchen. And I don't go for all kitchen gadgets, it has to be something cool. Air frying? I haven't heard about this before. Crunchy spirals of sweet potatoes sounds so good. I have to go watch some YouTube videos to get a quick education on just what an air fryer does.

The QVC page has a link to of one of their on-air presentations so you can see them use it for a number of things.

I forced myself to pass on it. even tho I think it would be great for 1 person who doesn't really cook much and doesn't like to dirty up dishes to cook for 1.
I figure it'll be around again sometime soon. or another brand of it will pop up on HSN. might have already and I missed it.

Gah. I caved too. I got it in white. I just thought I heard them mention there are "extra recipes" on the product page, but I'm not seeing a link. Did anyone else hear them say that? I'm hoping it works for french fries because my DH LOVES french fries.

I saw the email for it this morning and decided to go to Best Buy and see if they had one. Since I hate waiting, I went ahead and bought a Phillips one, like they have on HSN, along with the grilling pan. Made fries for lunch. Nice and crispy. For dinner I cooked pork chops on the grilling pan. They were nice and brown as well as tender and juicy. I do believe that I am going to like having an air fryer. Went to Amazon and ordered a pan to go with it and it will be here Tuesday. If you are on the verge of getting the one on QVC, I would say go for it. I don't think that you will regret it.

Thank you so much for sharing! It is good to hear you are happy with yours so far. The QVC one ends up being $21 a month for 5 months, so it wasn't as much as I have spent on many appliances, but I still hope that I will get my money's worth.

When I made pork chops in mine tonight, I just put dry rub on them then sprayed a tiny bit of olive oil on the top. They turned out like they had been grilled. There are FB groups with recipes that one can join and get a lot of ideas. I would imagine that there are a lot of recipes on Pinterest too. I haven't checked there yet. ETA: When I watched some of the presentation on QVC this afternoon, they made sausages with onion and peppers. There were also some Cornish hens with roasted vegetables. During the night, a couple of days ago, I saw a small amount of an infomercial on the Phillips Air Fryer. They had a whole chicken cooking in the XL one. Then I fell asleep. I must find that infomercial and watch the whole thing.

I watched it on and off all day as I was purging my closet and cleaning the bedroom. So tempted but I resisted! I love kitchen gadgets so it wasn't easy. I have a fairly small kitchen and am really out of storage space, I finally had to change the channel.
