Darn you, Elaine. Now I think I might "need" one of these too. Is it like a little portable super powerful convection oven? As a single person, it would replace using the big oven during the hot summer months. I would like to see more recipes than fried chicken, french fries, and onion rings. I don't eat french fries, although I probably would eat the sweet potato kind if they were done really shoestring thin on the spiralizer. Can you cook anything that you would normally cook in a regular oven? Like a chicken pot pie or spaghetti squash?
If it is like a small oven in use, I know a few people who could use one of these. I have a friend who is currently living in this little one-room stone house that was on the property he purchased. It has an older main house that he is fixing up to live in. The stone shack has electricity in it, and he bought a VitaMix and a portable single burner, thinking he could just live off protein shakes and soup or scrambled eggs until he gets the kitchen in the main house finished. With a little oven like this, he could eat a lot better.
I ended up passing on the one on QVC. I'm not familiar with the brand, Cook's Essentials. Are they a good, dependable brand? It looks like Phillips is a big name in air fryers. Ugh. I don't have the time to fully research one of these right now. Will those of you who bought one please come back and report to us on how you like it and what you have cooked?

It came! It came! Two days early!
Since it's my birthday, we are going out to dinner tonight - no cooking for me - but I promise to try it out tomorrow and report back.

Another update. Today I cooked chicken in my air fryer. I first used the pretzel shake and bake on two boneless chicken breast and placed them on the grill accessory. Sprayed a light coating of olive oil on them and cooked. Turned out so crispy outside and tender inside. So good. Loving my air fryer.

I'm so happy to hear that it works great in the air fryer. I'm almost annoyed that it is St Patrick's Day so I can't try it tonight. (((Hugs)))) about your husband again.

Will those of you who bought one please come back and report to us on how you like it and what you have cooked? It is like a super powerful small convection oven on steroids. I'm not sure about something like a frozen pot pie, but I would think you could use it to heat a fresh one, and definitely squash, although it would be more roasted. There are quite a few recipes out there for cooking dessert items in it. On Amazon, quite a few people mention using it for main courses because they are only cooking for 1 or 2. I think I will probably use it more for sides because I cook for 4 - which includes 2 teenage boys who each staggering amounts.

P.s. There are some kindle Air Fryer cookbooks that are free on Amazon. I downloaded a couple of free ones and one $8.99 one.

Wait. What? There's a pretzel shake n bake? Pretzel Shake and Bake is really good. The only place that I have found it is Walmart and it is on the shelf above all of the other Shake and Bake, so you might have to look for it.

I've had my Phillips air fryer for about a year. I love that thing so much! We eat out at least once a week and I never finish my meal. I vrought home half of a Monte Cristo sandwich and almost all of my fries Tuesdau night. When I got home last night I dumped all of the fries and the sandwich in the fryer, turned it to 390 and left it for 5 minutes. My sandwich was hot and crispy. The fries tasted like they had just been fried. It's the only way I've ever found to be able to salvage left over fries.

I used mine tonight to roast some potatoes to go with our corned beef. I quartered some smallish gold potatoes, put them in a bowl poured tablespoon of olive oil, about 2 teaspoons of rosemary and sprinkled some salt on them and tossed to mix and coat well. I made enough to almost fill the basket. I then cooked them on 360 degrees for 20 minutes, shaking halfway through. They were wonderfully crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
DH said he was glad I bought it!

I hate QVC shipping. I hardly ever order from them anymore because of it. Mine shipped two days ago and still just shows that it's at the shipping facility. Thanks for the tip on the cookbooks. I had hoped that I would have it by the weekend but it's not looking good. I'll just read recipes until it gets here.
