It's making me really mad- because the are still hundreds of people still standing in line.. they have it soo screwed up. the news has been reporting on it.. and they called it really early. Same numbers in Utah which maybe right but they are still voting. I voted with an early voting. SO glad I did. I really feel for the people still voting. I mailed it in a while ago. The people in our county Maricopa county ( Phoenix area) is one of the biggest problems. It's a mess. They're saying it's due to they huge turnouts. Really they haven't been watching the news and other states?!

My guess is that some of the early ballots that were mailed in had votes for candidates that are out now, but were still in the running at the time they mailed it in, like Carson and Rubio.
What a joke. Not happy with Purcell and Reagan today. I waited 2 1/2 hours to vote. Two problems: slashing our polling places from 200+ to 60 in Maricopa County, knowing there would be record turnout- duh. And also allowing independents to stand in the same line as the rest of us to fill out provisional ballots (that may or may not count). Let them vote, but have a dedicated line for them since there was extra paperwork to fill out. It bogged the line down.

It was explained that there were a number of early voters who voted for canidates who have dropped out. Arizona has a large number of early voters - more than vote on the day of.

I think I'm some places they only open and count the mail/ins if they need to. I don't know if that is the case here or if it helps explain what you are seeing. I don't think they should call it before polls close either.

my cousin waited so long to vote last night. He said it was miserable. The elderly with no place to sit, parents having to get out of line to change diapers, no water or shade waiting out in the sun.

Yes, the early ballot listed lots of candidates who have dropped out. I heard last night that the state had decreased the number of places to vote which contributed to the huge, unacceptable lines. Also, misinformation had been out there. My DH who is registered as an independent was not allowed to have an early ballot mailed to him. Mine was sent to me as I'm a registered republican. BTW I had changed my registration from independent to republican a few years ago when I realized you could never vote in primaries if you are an independent. BUT it was announced on Facebook thru some government agency that independents could vote yesterday. Well, they wouldn't let them after standing in lines forever. So you had some very disgusted, angry people. As far as the Cruz caucus win in Utah, there are articles online by attendees as to how rigged it was. One guy was given a handful of about 50 ballots he could fill out. No checking of credentials and when he wanted to watch the counting of the ballots, was asked to leave.

Michigan had a mess as well. Voters turned away because places ran out of ballots. Really? How does this even happen? They KNOW that voter turnout is extremely high this time around. Ay ya yay.

They had 200 voting places open in 2012 to 60?!! The county recorder is absurd. No wonder there are a lot of upset people in Arizona today. Here's the ABC 15 link MaricopaCounty Voting Recorder takes Resposibility she had a totally different tone and answers last night in her interviews.
