my morning starts around 5 am, either when the dogs milling around gets too annoying or when my alarm clock goes off. Maybe 1 snooze, but after that:
-- go downstairs -- feed the dogs -- let them outside -- take my medications -- play catch & fetch with the dogs to get some of their energy out while my BF gets ready for work -- BF leaves for work -- put the dogs in their crates for the day -- shower, makeup, get dressed, hair -- feed the cats on my way out the door -- 45 min - 1 hour commute to work (breakfast: protein bar and peach iced tea)
Depending on how quickly I get out the door and on the road, I may get to see: -- a glorious sunrise over the mountains or desert -- the herd of wild horses out in the desert or -- tons of traffic and a few accidents, sitting bumper to bumper on the highway

First alarm goes off at 5:50 Second alarm goes off at 6:00 I set timer for 10 more minutes Think about how it's okay to be late for work I can still sleep. Realize that is a lie then think well I can nap after work (which mostly doesn't happen) Let dog out to pee Shower, makeup, hair, get dressed (all that takes about 45 mins) Make sure DD is awake and yell at her to get out of bed Make my lunch and breakfast and DDs breakfast Yell at DD to hurry up Yell at DD again* Get in car and take DD to school I eat my breakfast on the way
*it's really not "yelling" it's more of an encouragement for her to get downstairs. Yeah, encouragement that's it.

I take a medication that makes waking up in the morning very difficult. It also requires that I have a full night of sleep too. So I really, really envy morning people. It takes me a while to become human. My alarm goes off at 6:15. I hit snooze but get up out of bed to make sure that my teens are up. My son is suffering from depression right now, so getting him up can be a challenge. His alarm also goes off at 6:15. I bang on his door, then head back to bed. The second time my clock goes off, if he is not awake, I get up out of bed again and go stalk him until he moves. If he's up, I go back to bed for another snooze. At this point, I am half asleep, half awake and usually driving DH nuts with my clock going off multiple times. I lay in bed trying to wake up and listen for the kids to go, making sure they make it to the bus on time. Then I get out of bed around 7:00 and hit the shower and get ready for work. I leave my house at 7:45 and get to work at 8:00. Once I'm at work, I make my coffee. I have my own coffeepot at work. I ease into my day at work by checking my emails first thing and responding to them. By 9:00, I've had a couple of cups of coffee and I am ready to jump into anything meaty at work.

I get up twice.
First time : make the coffee, make husband's breakfast, make his lunch. Kiss him goodbye. Back to bed.
Second time: bathroom, coffee, wake up the bird.

I'm such a creature of habit, and luckily at this stage of my life I'm alone so no one messes me up. Up at 7, shower/bathroom stuff. Music on (same relaxing/inspirational) music every day while I dry my hair, do make up and dress. Once I'm dressed, it's prayers for a few minutes, then vitamins and glass of soy milk while I read same inspirational book every day (365 writings). In nice weather,I read on the back porch with morning sunshine and listening to the birds. It's a nice moment. I rarely speak until I do my prayers. Then I'm out the door. No tv, no radio, no internet, no phone until I'm in the car.
Last week my niece was staying with me - love her, but she uses a lot of words. In the morning, too.

I am soooooo not a morning person! I get up about an hour before my Crossfit class starts. I have my coffee in bed while watching The Golden Girls. Then sometimes I have pre-workout. Then I feel I can finally function as a member of society, so I get dressed in workout clothes and head to the gym!

I am sooooooooo not a morning person.
Most days I respond to my alarm with the F word while I fumble around to hit snooze.
Seriously. Waking up is miserable.

I take care of the stress writing at night. Otherwise, the thoughts keep me awake.
In the morning, my alarm goes off at 6:15, I turn it off and go back to sleep. I wake up about 20 minutes later and contemplate calling in sick. Once that decision is made, I try to remember if it is a shower day or a non-shower day. DH gets up about 20 minutes af I do. His coffee is ready to go when he wakes up. While he is outside drinking his coffee, I am getting dressed. When he comes back into the house, he starts my coffee. By that time, I am in the kitchen getting my lunch and snacks ready. Then I put sugar in my coffee and head out for my 45 min drive to work. All of that takes about an hour.

I crawl into bed with my daughter and hug her awake. She's 14 and I have been waking her up like this every day since she started school. She has an alarm (that is set to before I wake her up) but she waits until I come in before she gets out of bed. It's the best way to start a day. I did this for my son, too. I would cuddle beside him and gently wake him up in the morning by stroking his face and whispering in his ear. I would never yell GET UP. That might cause him upset during the day and I didn't want that. (I know it's artsy fartsy but I had this stupid bitch scream at me every swear word and racial slur at me in Japanese when I was growing up and I said I would never do that to my own child. So he got woken gently to go into the world that day...he turned out pretty great so I say GO YOU! Keep doing what you are doing!)

Not a morning person either, the best part of being retired, I no longer have to wake up to an alarm clock!!Actually discovered that my natural wake up time is about 8 AM. I wake up, give thanks for the day, get my coffee play on the computer, check emails, facebook, come here, by the 2nd cup of coffee, I'm ready for some breakfast.

I'm a night owl, not a morning person. My during the week routine is:
5:50am - first alarm goes off. I hear nothing. Snooze 6:00am - second alarm goes off. This one stays on until I roll over. Snooze 6:05am - FitBit alarm on my wrist buzzes. Snooze 6:15am - FitBit alarm on my wrist buzzes.
Wish I could keep sleeping. Sit up and check my phone while fervently praying that by some miracle work is canceled. Shuffle to shower Once out of the shower, I do my makeup, hair, make the bed,and get dressed. Open curtains in bedroom. Pet the dog who has wandered in to see me.
7:10am Toss breakfast and lunch items into my lunch bag.
7:15am Out the door.
7:30-7:45 Dock and start up computer. Go to the Keurig.
7:47 Start drinking coffee. Hope I don't have an 8am meeting I didn't know about.
9:00 Finish drinking coffee. Talk to those around me. Consider eating breakfast.

After I turn off the alarm, I think about when I get to go back to sleep.....only 17 more hours, yay.
I get up about 40 minutes before everyone else because I hate the morning and can't deal with anyone.
I have a glass of lemon water and start the coffee maker. I plunk my butt in my chair and go onto my computer while I drink my lemon water. Just before I get everyone else up, I pour myself a cup of coffee. I like to give the lemon water a 1/2 hour before I move on LOL.
I wake up dh first and then the boys.
Dh gets up and moves. He empties the dishwasher, takes the dogs out and then feeds them. The dogs don't even leave the bedroom when I get up LOL. They continue snoozing because dh feeds them in the morning.

Contemplate how many times I can hit the snooze button.
Then I wake up my son, change his diaper, give him his daily caffeine and ipad and hope he's happy in 2 hours when he gets on the bus. If he's calm, I give myself a half hour to look over the schedule for the day and watch part of a show on the ID channel.

I am not a morning person. If I wrote down a "purge" of my morning negative thoughts, they would amount to: "Hate the morning." Over and over and over. LOL!

Up at 5 most mornings. 4 mornings a week I start the day with a run - length depends on what I'm training for but it could be up to 1 1/2 hrs on a weekday. Afterwards I stretch, have breakfast and shower and am off to work by 7.30.
