We're going to France in 2 months for vacation and I was pulling the clothes out that I want to wear and realized that I can't button the pants. They fit everywhere else but the button just won't quite make it. Close, but no cigar. Not only that my rain coat is a tad snug in the arms.
DH and I had decided we really need to step up our walking so that we'll be more acclimated when we get there, but now I'm going to have to really get on the stick with eating right. Surely in 2 months I can do well enough to be able to fit comfortably in my clothes??? I DO NOT want to have to buy new clothes.
So wish me luck, please.

Cut down salt, carbs and dairy. Up the veggies, salad and lean proteins. You will be able to button those pants in no time! Have a great trip!

Two months is very doable. And it's smart--there is so much walking over there, even using the metro. You will be glad that you did it.

Two months is totally doable! Get into a walking routine now, plus cut out most of the extra carbs -- the ice cream, chips, crackers, that kind of stuff. Don't give up wine (if you drink it) because you are going to France after all! But cut down. Like if you usually have two glasses then have only one. If you usually have two pieces of toast then have only one. Rice and stir fry? Add extra veggies and eat half the rice you usually have. My philosophy is not to totally give up anything (unless of course a doctor told me to), but just to cut out most "bad" stuff (I still eat chocolate, just in smaller amounts) and cut down on the other things. Also, if you are so inclined you could start doing some crunches, pilates type exercises... Toning up those muscles really helps how everything looks.

Ugh I hate that! Two months gives you plenty of time to fit back into your clothes. I started dieting and doing light exercise Jan 5th and by early February all of my clothes that were tight were fitting great and now in March I have gone down one size.

Thanks for all of the responses. I feel like I should be able to do it. I have worked at home this week because I haven't felt well and I never do as well when working at home. So Monday I will be back in the office working and I'm much better about regulating food then since I only eat the healthy food that I pack.
I am so excited about this trip but know I have got to seriously increase my walking. We've been once before and the amount of walking was just unbelievable. We'll be one week in Normandy/Brittany and one full week in Paris. Eeek!

I got the app My Fitness Pal and have been logging my food. It's an eye-opener--especially the calories from eating out! Anyway, like you, I put on a pair of pants and couldn't button them. One week later, I could button them, but not comfortably. I exercise regularly, so in my case, it was all about the food. I love to snack throughout the day, so I'm trying to cut down on that and make better snacking choices, in addition to better choices at meal times.

they still fit you, just not as comfortable as you'd like-- you certainly can do it! And good on you for planning ahead and checking your wardrobe, etc. now, so you can make sure you have everything you need / want to take. We never think to do things like that ahead of time, and end up scrambling to shop for something specific at the last minute...
