I was sick for several weeks leading up to Easter and the few days I felt well, I was getting ready to entertain 25 people at our house. Because of time, stress, and lack of energy, I didn't get stuff for my kids' Easter baskets. I went with cards with a couple of gift cards and a small amount of cash. I apologized to the kids for not doing baskets (they were totally fine with that), and DH commented that they're 17 (DS) and 20 (DD). He thinks it's ridiculous that I still do baskets.
At what age did you stop doing baskets for kids, or won't you stop?

Mine are 19 and 17 and I still do them. I probably will until I have grand kids.

I stopped getting baskets when I moved out at age 20. My dh got a basket (me too actually) from my MIL until the grandkids came along.

My 12 & 14 yo dds got a target beauty box and a chocolate bunny each. Does that count as a basket? There was no actual basket involved . It was the first time I didn't do egg hunts for them though.

We just had this conversation. I stopped this year. DD is 23 and DS is 21. Neither really cared but my mom made a big deal about it. That kind of annoyed me. Neither kid eats much candy and spending money on small items they will never use and don't need is a waste of money. I guess I am an Easter Scroogebunny!

I gotta stop? DD is 22. I enjoy putting together a few goodies for her. Mostly GCs, makeup, and cooking stuff for her.

I still do a basket for my daughter-in-law and son-in-law. And she does one for me. We find it to be a lot of fun

I didn't do baskets this year but I still hid chocolate eggs and they went on a hunt. My DDs are 17 & 14 and I will keep hiding eggs/doing baskets until they move out. Santa still comes too

The humorist David Sedaris writes about his mom giving him cigarettes in his Easter basket. I think once you're putting in cigarettes, the kids are too old!

We were in Disneyland last week so I didn't have time to get stuff for Easter Basket. My mom had some candy and I threw together some stuff. My kids are 18 and 21 and I was actually hoping they would say they didn't want one - no, they wanted one. Well it was pretty lame. We were going to skip the Easter Egg hunt with the cousins because all the little ones were not there. Then we realized that there had been an Easter Egg hunt in that yard (my Grandmothers and now Aunt's)for all my life (50 years) and we think it could have been going on for 80 years! We made our 3 "kids" go out and hunt so we didn't break that tradition

Every year my MIL sends the kids something for Easter and I get dish towels and DH get's jerky. Nothing this year but they are coming up next week so I think they are just being hand delivered.
Long story short, I guess the answer is never... I'm 38.

This was our very first Easter with no kids at home... oldest (25) lives in California with her hubby and youngest (20) is traveling in London... and I STILL sent them Easter baskets! I think I probably will until there are grandchildren, maybe?

If they are here for Easter they get an Easter basket (now they all live in another state and received them until they moved a couple years ago). The are 30+. If they bring friends, they also get a basket.

Never! We don't have kids, but we still get an Easter basket, just like we still get stockings from Santa. It's a fun part of life!

My sister does baskets for her kids and they are 30 and 26. And she does baskets for the spouses, too. And of course her grandkids.

My parents stopped doing baskets for me when I was in middle school. Probably a few years after I found out about the Easter bunny. Once the Easter bunny was no more, so were the baskets and gifts. There were chocolate bunnies each year but those stopped when we went to college.
But we never really did fixed up "baskets". My basket was empty until the egg hunt and my chocolate bunny and small toy (if any) were hidden outside.
ETA: My ILs don't do baskets for my DH or myself or SIL/BIL. I guess it was a child-age only thing in both of our families.

One year Easter fell at the same time as our spring break vacation. My kids were in junior high and high school. That was the stopping point. I still get something for Easter in the way of clothing though.

I give both DH and DS Easter baskets and I don't see stopping with DS until he's permanently out of the house. We stopped dyeing eggs last year.

DD just turned 20 this past weekend and is a junior in college -- she asked if she was still going to get her Easter basket too. I imagine I will keep on doing them until I have grandbabies.

My plan is that if you wake up at my house you'll get stockings and baskets.

Apparently 25. I didn't give him one this year. Last year I did. I might next year.

I will have to let you know when I do. I gave them to my 22 and 24 year old yesterday, and my son's 24 year old girlfriend. I also did one for my husband. As long as they like getting them and I don't mind doing it I guess I will.

My guess is that when they move out I'll stop. (As in move out for real, not just gone away to college.)

I don't think there is an age limit on giving Easter baskets. As long as it is fun for you and your kids I don't see why it should stop just because of an age. If it causes stress or no one cares, then I wouldn't do them.

This year. My son is 14.
I wasn't going to stop but my son told me before Easter that he didn't care about the basket and had something he really wanted instead that was $80.
I said fine with me, I usually go all out for holidays, but now that he's older I'm appreciating simpler more. I did give him just a little bag with about $5 in candy in addition to the gift.
Neither of us is overly into Easter, so I think from now on I'll just get him a gift he wants or maybe money and a couple packs of candy since I still like giving him something for each holiday.
It was really easy this year.
Edited to add: My son is the baby of the family so we haven't even done egg hunts for at least 6-7 years. We haven't even done an Easter dinner since my mom passed 6 years ago.

Funny I kind of equate it to stockings so I don't plan on ever stopping. I mean, the contents will just change.
However, I love the whole goody bag, gift basket type of thing opportunity, so that's my go to, love to do things like that so maybe it's just me finding an excuse to put together a gift basket type of thing.

This year I gave each kid a pack of peeps and a gift card. Ds17 got a steam card for his online games, dd got CVS card for makeup and ds11 got an iTunes card.
I dropped the ball on Easter baskets but really didn't love the candy for them. I'm not against candy but the Easter candy we just seem to buy for the sake of buying and they don't eat it.

I never heard of Easter baskets til I read about them at 2 peas. They're not really done here. People give eggs but that's about it.
