I have several friends who have lost quite a bit of weight on Isogenix. I am seriously considering it.
Can you share any experience you have had. I am trying to decide if it will be worth the money. I need to lose the weight and doing so on my own is not working.

They are losing weight simply because they drastically reduce their caloric intake. Don't buy into the "nutritional cleaning" bullshit. They're essentially drinking a fortified protein shake and using that as meal replacement. If you want to do shakes, it would be more cost effective to go to the health store and buy whey protein. Make smoothies out of them. You'll have that same feeling of fullness.
Isagenix is really a marketing scheme. Yes, there's no question people drop weight. But there is NOTHING magical about that shake. And all of the Isagenix sellers suddenly think they are nutritionists. It becomes cultish pyramid type thing. I have a Facebook friend who is constantly posting about his diet. At first he said he wasn't selling anything... and now it's weekly "Who's next...free shipping!" He'll post a photo of his shake he had for lunch and then "yum" when he posts a photo of a small piece of chicken and brocolli. Hello. You're going to lose weight because you're drastically cutitng back on calories. It's not because of a magic and expensive shake you claim is riding your body of "toxins"!
So my advice to you: You can achieve the same weight loss, in a cheaper way, by using Whey protein shakes instead of the Isagenix stuff. Reduce your caloric intake and you're going to lose weight.

I've had some friends swear by it but honestly, from what I can tell, they all either didn't lose anything to begin with or gained it back. They seem to restart and repeat the cleanse phase every so often and start praising it, then stop for awhile and go back to square one.

I know someone that lost about 10kg on it and now of course sells it. She posts on FB all the time about having a shake for breakfast and lunch then eating (bingeing) on crap all afternoon because she is so cranky and hungry. Really good advertisement for the product!
A couple of workmates tried it and their conversations in the lunchroom were quite hilarious. They hated it, gagged on the shakes etc and were only keeping going until their supply ran out.

No, don't ask me about it. My mom is on Plexus. My thought-out response would be similar to Sasha's. My tired and don't really give a shit response would be "anyone who goes on Plexus, Isogenix, Thrive, or the like, is a total fucktard." So there you go.

I don't know the names of any of these companies as people around me don't sell this stuff (no judgment). If they did I would probably buy into it. I guess I am lucky because I don't have it to try.

I tried it a few years ago. Both my mom and sister were selling it. I did initially lose weight, but it's exactly what Sasha said. I watched my caloric intake more, used one shake as a meal replacement each day. So yes, of course I lost weight. But it's expensive and I only did it for one month. I thought I could continue on my own without the shakes, and just keep watching my intake. Trouble is, I like food too much. So, I am not good on my own. I should have done what Sasha said and buy one of the ones sold in stores like Walmart. Might have had just as good as an experience at half the cost.

One of my friends has lost over 100 pounds using the shakes to replace two meals per day. Even though she is very successful with the weight loss (almost at her goal weight) she does not act as if Isogenix is some magical solution. She knows cutting her calories by replacing most of her food and the long hard hours she spends in a gym with a trainer are the reason she has done so well. I could not be more proud of her!!!
Less food + move more = weight loss

No different than Shaklee and Herbalife and all the other junk people have peddled over the last few decades as a miracle weight loss product.

They taste awful. Don't buy until you have tried one.

I had a good friend who ate healthier than anyone I know, exercised fanatically, and still couldn't lose weight. She was extremely depressed about it actually--she was doing all of the right things and still no results. She is an extremely thoughtful and intelligent person who studied health, was certified as a personal trainer, and was not at all about the 'quick fix'. She tried Isagenix as a last resort and lost 25 lbs in the first 2 months. Now she's totally a zealot about it and she has recruited a ton of people under her and is making all kinds of money. She is a 100% all-around happier person now than she was before, and because she's my friend I'm glad for her.
That being said....I tried the 30-day plan 3 different times. The most I ever lost was 6 lbs in a month and I never felt happier or more energy or blah blah all the things they promise. And when I had the nerve to be upset that I felt like I had been deceived (since they all but promise you'll lose at least 12 pounds and feel more energy etc), the 'faithful' handslapped me and said it was my fault I didn't lose any weight or feel any better. The first month I did it I actually had a personal trainer and was lifting weights 3x per week and still only lost the 6 lbs (and didn't gain any muscle, before you go making that excuse). I actually cried at my weigh-in with my trainer, because I felt like such a huge failure and was so angry that I'd spent so much money (like $700) and gave up real food for a month with no results.
One of my closest friends signed up under the original friend and she's big into it too, so out of respect for our friendship I don't say much about it but my overall experience with the company has NOT been positive.
I actually don't think the chocolate shakes taste too bad. All of the other flavors are gross, and every single other powder or liquid I tried was disgusting with the exception of the protein bars. I think it's all incredibly overpriced and they hugely overcharge for shipping too. I think you can actually buy the shake packets on Amazon if you want to try them first without getting tangled up with Isagenix people.

My coworker started the 30 day program last week. She asked me to do it with her, then she told me it was $600 and I laughed at her. No.chance.in.hell. As Sasha said, she's losing weight b/c she's not eating much. Some of their snack bars, a few shakes, and one normal meal.
There are much cheaper ways to lose weight that are just as effective. The trick is your discipline in following them.

The good thing about the isogenix people that share too much on Facebook is they share from the website isogenix.com or whatever it's named. So, you can click on the arrow on the top right hand side and choose hide all from isogenix and the posts magically disappear!

It's even crazier for my particular friend/coworker Isogenix - $600 (That's what she told me, I don't know if that's the exact price or not) Then, she also pays something like $65/week for a program called "Good Measure Meals" - pre-portioned, fresh meals that she picks up each week AND, she's still keeping her Weight Watchers membership at $45(ish) a month to use that for her weigh ins. But I'm pretty sure she hasn't been since she last went with me in January. I love her, but the amount of $$ she's spending each month is CRAZY. Thankfully, it's her $$ to waste!

I tried it and couldn't do it. I was starving all the time and was so angry because I couldn't eat real food! Of course, I lost a little bit of weight but promptly gained it back. I have a fb friend who posts constantly about "nutritional cleansing" and I always think to myself, how is eating processed shakes 3 times a day cleansing?

She might be talking about their Cleanse for Life product? You drink this awful awful liquid several times per day for either 2 straight days, twice (for the 30-day weight loss program) or for 1 day as needed. You don't eat any actual food, just drink this horrible stuff all day long, and it's supposed to make you feel all refreshed and cleaned out and super energetic. I felt NONE of those things, other than STARVING and hangry. No super energy. Just that I would have punched my grandma to steal her lunch.

There are other shakes out there that you don't have to go through MLM to get them. I have actually tried IdealShape. It is not through MLM. You can order it online and it works out to $1.67 per shake or less (the more you order the cheaper it is). I actually googled weight loss shakes to find one that I didn't have to go through an MLM. We have been using this because we just love food, and my husband and I both need to lose weight. While I have better willpower than he does and can make better choices, he won't do it himself unless I make every single meal of his. This just makes it easier. He has lost about 15 pounds in the last 2 months, so we are probably going to stick with it for a while because it seems to work for him. I've lost about 10 pounds and kind of stopped in the last couple of weeks because of Easter, but I am determined to get back on track now.

If you have tried this, is there something special about the shakes that is different than other shakes? I have a friend who has been doing it for one month and posted the other day that she has lost 16lbs and over 19 inches. She started because she was feeling horrible and recently diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome but says she is feeling better now. I am skeptical about programs like this but it is tempting to give it a try since I don't seem to be getting results with what I am doing.
Bumping to see if there are any others with experiences or insight into what would make it work. From what she has said, she is eating 1200-1300 calories a day (two shakes, two 100 calorie clean snacks and a clean dinner that is supposed to be 400-600 calories). I have my calorie goal set at 1300 but also do 5:2.
