My DH and I bid on and won a week stay in a Villa in Cabo and we will be using it the week before Christmas. We have never visited this part of Mexico and want to experience all the great things it has to offer. For sure we want to take a boat out to the arches, whale watch and got seep sea fishing (of course, not all on the same day).
What restaurants, sights and activities do you recommend? Tour companies? Any thing to stay away from? Is it terribly expensive? I am used to camping on the beach and living on street tacos ala Spring Break in the 90s. We are ready for nicer side of Mexico.
Thanks in advance!

I may not be much help - we did 5 days at Las Ventanas and never left the resort - oh wait - we did go and golf one day at a different course. I think the best part of this part of Mexico is that you don't have to do a lot. You can relax and sit under a thatched umbrella and listen to the ocean.

There was a thread about Cabo not too long ago. Hopefully there are some good ideas for you here! Cabo

We spent eight days in Cabo the week before Christmas last December.... heavenly!! We were at Casa Dorado and really spent most of our time at the resort or on the beach/ocean. Our room looked right out at the arches! We were a short walk from the marina so we spent time there, shopping in the mall and eating/shopping along the marina. I don't really know much about the deep sea fishing trip that my DH and DD took because I don't do ocean boating ( ) but I do know that DH was pleased with the cost. It was arranged through the resort. We also did a glass bottom boat trip out to the arches. We just talked to a guy at the marina and made arrangements. I think it was something like $15 each, plus of course a tip, and we had the boat to ourselves. I don't know if that is a good or bad price but we were happy with it and the boat operator was really funny and told us lots of great stories. I'm not sure where you're staying so I don't know if the restaurants we frequented are close to you; all were within walking distance (we didn't rent a car). For breakfasts and lunches we liked The Mango and the Office, mostly because both were right beside our resort. We also went to a few nicer places who's names I can't recall... I'll look back at our album to refresh my memory. Enjoy! This was our first trip and we will definitely be making plans to go back!
