Since the peas know everything and we all appreciate that... My high school kid's team won their regional for FIRST ROBOTICS. Nobody could foresee this event and the team of 40 kids has pulled together along with advisors/mentors and teachers and raised $15,000 in two weeks...I'm actually proud to live in this community that would back these kids.
Anywho, since the kids are going, my husband and I are tagging along but we have never been in this area. I'm assuming we are staying out of the city and the kids are staying in Pontoon Beach, IL
Looking for something nice since this looks like our vacation for the year.
Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

There is an Embassy Suites right next to the dome! About three locks away there are two other hotels. I am not sure of thier names. They are next to Busch Stadium. You could google hotels near the Dome. Hope this helps.

Congrats! At this poiunt you're going to have to just go with anything you can find. We qualified week 2 and still had a horrible time finding rooms available. Have fun!

Congrats! At this poiunt you're going to have to just go with anything you can find. We qualified week 2 and still had a horrible time finding rooms available. Have fun! Ditto this. Our family lives and breathes robotics this time of year. This is our 4th year going to STL, and I've learned a lot. I booked our room before regionals even started, and downtown options were limited then. Many teams book well before the season starts. The good news is that STL is fairly easy to navigate, the area around the dome is walkable, and there is inexpensive parking available since you will likely have to stay further out. (The bad news is that the champs are even more exhausting than regionals and the matches are spaced much farther apart, so you will wish that you had a nearby hotel so that you can chill between matches.) We stayed at the Chase Park Plaza the first year. It is a nice hotel in a very nice area about 20 min from the dome, and may be worth checking to see if they still have availability. Congrats to your team! Is it a rookie team? I'm so glad they were able to come up with the money to go the the champs! It is an amazing experience, and the kids will have such a great time.
