Dd#1 won't be home for dinner as she is going to hang out with her friends after school before they go to a concert tonight ... it's a band I have never heard of I was super excited yesterday though ... I got great seats to see my fav band of all time, Duran Duran on August 30th Anyway, back to food! What's on your menu tonight?

I am craving Pinto beans. So those are gonna cook all day with some ham and I will make cornbread and some fried potatoes to go with it. Butter and sliced onions the only other thing needed! Oh and some sweet tea! Name my region?!?!

It's Chicken Tacolados here tonite. Must remember to put them in the crockpot soon . . . leannec, my youngest sister loved them, too! I remember buying her a tee shirt that said 'Duran says Reflex' (a take on Frankie Goes to Hollywood's 'Frankie Says Relax'). She wore it all the time! Too funny. Have a great time!

Pizza and movie night here!
We got Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Blu-ray, so we'll be watching that while we chow down. Might even pop some popcorn, too.

I think meatball subs. My kids will be really happy. I'll make a salad, too. I forgot to post the other day that I thought that "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" was adorable. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one, too. Lots of laughs and a few very tender moments. All the feels. Lisa

It feels as though I'm drowning in Italian beef and chicken spaghetti. There will never be a day that I'm not eating one or the other or both. Right this minute, I'm eating an Italian beef sandwich for brunch. Anything to make it go away. I think I'll order pizza tonight. If all these extraneous people will just go away and leave me alone. But if they're here at dinner time, they're getting chicken spaghetti. Except the 7yo. If he's here, I'll share my pizza with him.

The calendar says Spring, but the weather outside my windows is shouting FALL, so we're having roasted turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy, roasted butternut squash, roasted green beans, carrots, and cauliflower, applesauce, canned jellied cranberry sauce, rolls, and an assortment of cupcakes for dessert. scrappert, I never serve chili the day I make it. It seems to taste better after it sits at least a day. At least that what dh says.

We were going to eat out after his doctor appointment today but stopped at ATT for ipad situations and walked out a few minutes later with ipad problem solves and we are switching for ATT U-verse to DirecTV (with a Sunday installation date). It will save us a few dollars a month - yeah - anything helps now a days. After that we came home and had breakfast for dinner - eggs, sausage, hash browns and biscuit. Sure wish I had orange juice in the house - I would have had a mimosa. Oh, well!!!!!

Absolutely no idea 16 yr old dd and I are leaving for the weekend at the beach with the dog mushing club. This is our first time going so I didn't realize they start their events at noon today and I don't get off until 5 and it's a 3 1/2 hour drive So we will be grabbing something on the run, but I'm so excited about the weekend I don't care Sounds like it will be fun, breakfasts each morning, a parade, a night run, a luau dinner, another dinner! We probably won't be hooking up my pup to anything (scooter or bike) but it will be good experience for him out there meeting people and other dogs And hopefully next year we can be one of them

Thank you so much, leannec for starting the thread. I had an appointment in the big city and I was given hope that I can tube feed, again. That means that I would feel so much better w/proper nutrition. The unfortunate part was taking a good fall and slamming my wrist onto the seat of the commuter train. I'm not sure if I should say "ouch", yet, but my hand isn't happy. My ds laughed at me. No dinner for him! One year! Anyway, I'm obviously exhausted. So, it's tacos. Last nights tacos turned into leftover night. So, tonight I'll fire up a burner on the stove and look productive.

It looks like I'll be eating in the hospital cafeteria. DH'S gallbladder surgery is entering hour three. They couldn't do it laproscopicly, so it's going to take awhile. Poor sweet man. This is his 5th surgery in the last 7 years.

It's grey and muggy out. Rain is on the way.. again! Ugh! I had planned to make meatloaf, but it's too warm for that. Instead, it will be a big taco salad. Yum! If they boys don't want tacos, I'll probably make them mac and cheese.

Sounds like fun! I had a big salad for lunch and it pretty much filled me up so I think dinner tonight will be a repeat of last night-roasted garlic hummus and chips. And chocolate cake. Maybe more than one piece.

Thanks to those who asked after my husband. I just spoke with the surgeon. DH has so much scar tissue from prior surgeries that it was a tricky surgery. He is resting comfortably now and will be in hospital 2-3 days. And he was so looking forward to eating pizza...that will have to wait.
