The calendar says Spring, but the weather here is usually anything but warm (it's 35 degrees today). So I always struggle with the weather being too cold to break out the warm weather clothes and shoes, but I'm tired of my Winter clothes and they feel out of season even if the weather is still cold. Anyone else have a hard time transitioning to Spring fashions?

We have had this conversation at work many times. This past week we've been wearing winter clothes. Next week we're supposed to be in the 60s. I'm hoping I can start wearing my spring skirts and shoes soon.

I totally agree! We've had snow, rain, and temperatures from 22-70 this week. And I'm totally sick of my black winter stuff. I want my cheerful colors, but not if I have to wear a wool sweater over them.

I completely agree. I have made several purchases of spring and summer wear over the past couple of months. This is the first time I am taking a very planned and thought-out approach to my wardrobe, and I am so excited about what I have and how it all works together. Now I just wish I could wear it! Lol.

Well, we had 80 degree temps a few weeks ago so I thought surely winter was over. So I put away all the heavy winter stuff, and kept out light jackets, and a couple pairs of those thin gloves you can buy in the drugstore, since early morning can be chilly in early spring.
Then a few days ago when it was a "feels like" 19 degrees out I had to pull the Serious Coat back out, and warmer gloves, and a hat. ugh.

This week is my sons' break and it is 70 today! It's supposed to rain tomorrow and then 2 more days with highs nowhere near 70. ETA: I keep my winter coat in our entry closet until the end of May.

Pretty easy for us, it still feels like winter here! I hate this cold weather!
But many times in May, it's freezing when the kids catch the bus at 6:30am and they need a winter coat. Then the time they get home from school, they don't need a coat at all, and some days it's even warm enough for shorts by the afternoon.

We had an upper 70s day in late March, I really wanted to pack up winter and get out spring! But I have lived in Pgh. long enough that I learned that I can't put winter coats away until late May! We had wind chills in the teens this week, and Sun. morning will be 22. It really puts me in a bad mood. I could vent about the cold weather for hours! The snow this morning and the 1-3 inches tomorrow, my family will be grumpy all weekend.

You should see the lost and found at the elementary school where I do my subbing. It's cold in the morning so everyone wears a coat to school. Then they wear it out for recess because the teachers insist, since you know...it was so cold in the morning. But by then it's warmed up a lot so they shed the coats out on the playground and half of them don't make it back into the building. The playground supervisors go around and pick up all the coats/sweaters/whatever and dump it in the front hallway. Kids then walk right by it as they leave and never check. Every once in awhile we'll see a parent going through the piles but I'm always shocked at the good quality clothing that gets given away to a local charity. That's after many announcements and notes home to parents, so no one can say they weren't warned.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one suffering this! Every morning I stare at my closet and wonder how I'm going to look and feel like spring but survive my workday (and commute) in the winter-like cold. So I end up putting on layers to make an outfit that will get me through the cold but it's such a challenge to find something that looks springy instead of winter drab.
Like several others, I've gotten some new spring things, but can't really wear them yet (well, we had a few days in the 70s a while back, but none lately).

I bet they really appreciate that. I am surprised that after all the notes home and announcements you still have a lot in the lost and found. At least they know they are going to a good place.

I agree. I've been cool at work all week, so I dressed more warmly today since it was supposed to be the coldest day and they cranked the heat today and I was so hot. I was ready to take off my warm fuzzy boots and walk around barefoot.
The transitions are just hard!

Actually, I"m enjoying this year because while we have had some warm days, most days I can still wear long sleeves but it more spring-like colors. It so often goes from winter to summer here without spring temps that I have things in my closet I get to wear maybe once per season. This year I have a few more opportunities to wear those clothes. We have more warm weather months than cold so I get really tired of my warm weather clothes about September and it won't get really cold until Thanksgiving.

The wild swings are annoying. It was 90 here on Wednesday, today 78, tomorrow is going to be 63 with rain. I just want to know what to wear and how to make plans!
