Any other Peas here? I left work early today and came on down. I had already registered for a couple of Saturday workshops, so I decided to add Friday. I even got a hotel room since DH is teaching tonight.
The attendance was pretty light today, but I'm sure tomorrow will be a different story. The enormous crop area is packed as usual. There are lots of vendors, including a Basic Grey booth with close-out paper and embellishments. That was an exciting find!
PM me if you're here! I would love to meet a pea one of these days.

Be sure to hit the booth from Mom and Me Scrapbooking (also known as Scrap All Night). Karen Stott Peterson has the most amazing page kits!

I'm on the fence about coming down. Was at Legoland yesterday and enjoying my pj's but do want to check it out. Love to meet you L if I do! I have a free admission that I shouldn't let go to waste lol. Hoping Authentique has a booth.

jenettycakes , let me know if you decide to come. It would be great to meet you in person! scrapbookwriter , I will watch for that booth. Here is picture of my Basic Grey haul. (Even though I got the warehouse box and have picked up some 6x6 pads at TM. I know you all understand.) Figgy Pudding, Indian Summer, Persimmon, Juniper Berry– who could resist? I'll post more when I get back later. You won't believe the size of the crop area!

I was >>>>THIS<<<<< close to being there this year. But I kept thinking it will be packed, and the parking will be horrible, and I am trying to declutter, and I would just be bringing home more things I don't need. Sigh.....stupid conscience!

Would love to hear about the classes you are taking. I go to the Sacramento one in late Fall and am curious how the offerings are this year.

Hi! Newbie here. I wish I had seen this before I went! I was at the Expo on Friday and spent my day shopping. I don't have any friends who scrap or do any paper crafting so I feel a bit intimidated by the workshops. I'd love to attend some one day! I feel like the quality of exhibitors and the types of products available were better this year compared to last. Or at least that's what my wallet tells me because I managed to spend quite a bit! I do PL + 12x12 layouts and recently started dabbling in mixed media and planners so I was primarily looking for stickers, washi and embellishments but keeping an eye out for mists, stencils, etc. I noticed an abundance of products for cardmakers (tons and tons of stamps and dies in many booths), a fair amount of mixed media products (I saw the new Tim Holtz distress crayons and the Prima watercolor pencils a lot) and very little planner-specific products. As usual, there were also quite a few booths with tons of older, discounted paper though I tried my best to stay away from them because I hate going through the bins and I don't really need any more paper, haha. Anyway, my haul included... The Cat's Meow - Kelly Purkey's My Monthly Hero kit from December 2015 (so excited to use these stamps in my planner!) Close to My Heart - Medium Organizer (to use as Project life card storage) Paper Wizard - Harry Potter/wizard mini set Go Washi - 3 washi sets (glitter, coffee, Japanese-themed) Echo Park - Hello Winter enamel dots (I was so tempted by some of the travel collection packs but I don't need any more paper!) A-Z Scrapbooking - Say Cheese II enamel dots Scrap That - MME Frightful enamel shapes Queen & Co - flower pop-up (curious to try this to make a shaker card), Disney themed epoxy stickers, dog epoxy stickers, 2 bling books (the one with different colored rhinestones and one with just black/white shapes), pearl flower dots, pearl dots, 8 rolls of washi, 5 little bags of the $1 Mickey head buttons and acrylic shapes (huge Disney nerd here), also got one of the toppings bottles free for being one of the first 50 customers Basic Grey - 2 6x6 paper pads (White basics + Urban Luxe), chevron Hero Arts stencil, B-Side ephemera, Mint Julep ephemera, Urban Luxe ephemera, Saturday Morning ephemera, Saturday Morning flower kit, Juniper Berry sequin kit, attach me stickers, Capture printed tape, Second City ephemera, Second City feathers, Hillside die-cut leaves There was actually quite a bit more I could have taken home from the Basic Grey booth but I tried not to go too crazy. I had the Mon Ami collection pack in my hand and also put back the Aurora & Barista 6x6 paper pads and a bunch of chipboard stickers. Now I regret it! BG was my first love way back in 2007 when I started this hobby. I will miss the diversity of their designs! I was also VERY tempted by the Simple Stories Life in Color and Illustrated Faith She Blooms collections after having seen them in person at the expo. I didn't think the prices were that great, though, so I'll probably just grab a few pieces online. Sorry this is so long! If anyone is interested in prices or photos, let me know. Maybe we can do a meet-up next year!

I was there on Saturday. I must say that it is much smaller than the days of it being held in Orange County. The crop was huge and packed. I found a ton of MME and the Nuvo drops to make my own enamel dots. I found one booth- Nicole Peterson, I think, that was more like an LSS and scored some Pink Fresh Felicity 12x12 to go with all of the embellishments I ordered from Scrapbook.com. I also got some dots at the Echo Park booth. The Basic Grey stuff was pretty picked over. Empty tubs.
I was really looking for more LSS style booths to buy the newer stuff. I miss having one to shop at in North San Diego County.

Kel , welcome to the board! Looks like you made plenty of nice purchases. We might have seen each other and just didn't know it. tinksmommy , Nicole Peterson did have a nice variety compared to most. She also teaches a lot of the workshops. There were so many booths with stamps and dies, but not a lot of mixed media and planners, which was surprising. I heard one of the vendors complaining (tacky!) about how the show wasn't what if used to be, and I thought "well maybe if you had something besides tired old stacks of 12x12 paper pads." Sheesh! Can you imagine if there was someone demonstrating mixed media in front of a wall of paint and supplies? That crowd would go nuts for it. Same with planners. scrapbookwriter , the Scrap All Night booth had great kits. A lot of them had sold out, so it's nice to see they are successful. cmpeter , leeny , I took 3 workshops and really like them all. One was the Echo Park Jack mini album (I am a sucker for mini albums) with Nicole Peterson. There wasn't enough time to complete the album, but we got the items needed with Cuttlebug dies done in class and page assembly. It was a technique I hadn't done before making pocket pages, so that was fun. I took the Thinking About Inking class, also taught by Nicole. It was excellent! We received a kit with a pad of each type of ink to try as she explained the properties of each. I finally understand inks completely! Really, really worthwhile! The other class I took was a Heartfelt Creations card. It was very well organized with a nice kit, good visual and verbal presentation as you worked. The technique I learned is using a stylus to get the dimension on the leaves and flowers, and using paint for edging instead of just ink. We made 3 cards with the same type of flowers. Here is a picture of one from the demo sample. The creative station (free) inside the expo had some fun projects. I made a slider card. These would be great gift card holders. One of the booths has kits with the blanks. It's a little tricky, and came out great. Here is a photo of the crop area. It was a sell out. I ran into an acquaintance there I know through work. She has a little group that gets together and crops all the nights, so now I have some new scrappy friends, too.

jenettycakes , Authentique had their usual nice display. I refrained this time, and just got the BG stuff instead. I will probably do Ontario in the fall, so maybe we can meet there! FurryP , maybe next time! That darn conscience! I don't listen to mine very often when it comes to scrapbooking.

SB Expo Anaheim and CKC St. Louis were the same weekend - I think both vendor faires suffered since many had to choose which show to attend. CKC-StL definitely had fewer vendors than typical, and I missed having Nicole Petersen there!

Thanks for the updates! My friends and I have been doing the Make & Take Crop on Thursday night and love it. Beats crowding around the booths and trying to get into their make and take. The downside to going to Sacramento I feel is that it is at the end of the year so I feel there are fewer choices for shopping. However last year I mentioned this to a vendor and he said the Expo chooses who goes based on what they are selling so they don't have too many selling the same items.

I was there Thursday and Friday. We should all meet up next year and crop! Missed the Make n Take Wednesday but I loved the card swap a lot. Got to pick out 16 beautiful cards from some hardcore cardmakers, got a bag of goodies, pin, CardMaker magazine and bag. I won a We R Memory Keepers 3x4 card punch and Queen and Co. buttons. Class is only $20. The convention is trying to expand and focus more on stamping and cardmaking. That's why they changed the name to the Stamp AND Scrapbook Expo. Maybe that is why there were more people there. The refreshments were chocolate chip cookies, cheese crackers and bottled water. I think I'll bring cupcakes next year. Did the Latest and Greatest Embellishments, Cool Tools, Stamping, Cardmaking, and Collections. They could have just combined the new embellishment class with collections. There were only seven of us so we all won prizes. Won a stamp set. They passed out cute Expo bags in all their classes this year. Back in the day around three years ago, the L&G Cool Tools class used to give out a ton of merchandise. The entire class was a big raffle. Now the class consists of doing a couple of projects with our supplies. No We R Memory Keepers tool this year but I got a aqua glue gun holder, cool We R Memory Keepers embossing folders, petal punch set, Deco Foil kit, Heidi Swapp MemoryDex with accessories. RTV $83.92 The L&G Collections used to give out big stacks of 12x12 paper too. Got some Basic Grey which was cool, Bella Blvd., Graphic 45, MME, Paper House Productions, and Photo Play Paper (new co.) collections. RTV $84.87 Made two layouts. Expo bag and chocolate. Won a stamp. We made a couple of cards in the L&G Card Making class. Got a Basic Grey, Elizabeth Craft Designs, MME, Sizzix folders, Totally Tiffany and We R Memory Keepers samplers, Karen Buddy Bag organizer. bag and chocolate. RTV $87.69 The L&G Stamping class was fun. Did some fun inking techniques. Got some Clearstamp ink pads, Faber-Castell water brush and Metallic Gelatos set, JustRite Papercraft clear stamp set, Rubberneck stamps, and Technique Tues. Stamp Cleaner Sampler-spritz and sampler. RTV 91.63 A clear stamp block with Expo logo and chocolate. I'll take this class next year too. Had to get my 'I Created' pin so I did a cute orange citrus 12 x 12 layout kit at the creativity center. More chocolate! I always support the Charity Wings booth and buy their $20 mystery box. They give art classes to disabled kids. Got some Lawn Fawn 12x12 paper, Lawn Fawn 6x6 pad, calendar, Tattered Angels and chalk paint, binder, wooden frame kit, ton of flocked felt, and yarn, embellies, etc. The Expo swag bags came with nice clear document boxes and Pioneer Glue sticks. Bought this years three Expo buttons. Every year I stock up on my Pioneer embellishment glue sticks. He always gives me free extras. Stocked up on Glossy Accents. Bought some stamps, dies, and Crystal Drops. Max & Whiskers stamps and felt stickers from the Basic Grey booth. It was too crowded to go thru everything! Next year I'll pass on the L&G Embellishments and take the Mixed Media class instead, do both card swaps, and the Make n Take crop and hopefully meet some Refupeas.

It sounds like we did just about all of the opposite things, birdgate. I didn't do the Make and Take this time, and always eye the Latest and Greatest workshops. Next time. You really walked away with a lot of loot! It would be really fun to crop with some Peas in the future. cmpeter, maybe we'll see you next year, too.

I was there on Friday! Drizzle and all!
I bought a ton of paper from the Authentique and Echo Park booths. I also got a bunch of loose leaf paper from a couple of other vendors.
The Basic Grey booth was great. Leafing through the vintage collections made me sad that they will not be releasing anymore collections. I didn't like what they released for the past few years but I was a very big fan (and hoarder) of earlier collections. I couldn't believe how cheap they were selling the collection packs for. I mostly bought embellishments from the BG booth because I spent the paper money at the other booths.
It was a fun day though. A couple of years ago I met up with some other Peas from the old board and this one and it was fun to see the faces behind the board names.
