She claims to be between a size 4 and 6. She is 5'7" and admits to being 160 lbs. how could this be? She says being 'plus-sized' is great, but she's not plus-sized and doesnt want to be included in that category. i think she's brilliant and hysterically funny, but in no way, shape, or form is she a size 4-6. Why do you care? Enjoy her comedy, why worry about what size she is? Women need to be nicer to each other.

Why would I want to discuss Amy Schumer's weight and size?
It seems clear the intent here is snarky, not kindly. ETA and not just academic interest, either.

She actually stated she was between a 6-8. I've seen her in person at a restaurant--she is smaller than she appears in these photos.

She's using Chico's sizing. I wear a size 18-20. What she actually looks like she is also. But in Chico's I wear a size 4. Now if you really want to fool yourself about your weight, buy ONLY Chico's and never take the tags out.

All I want to know is where did she get those awesome black strappy shoes? Highly doubt I could wear them, thanks neuropathy, but I.WANT.them. :-)

While I question why anyone is curious about what size another woman wears, I don't think that the OP was anything but curious. Yeah.... nah. It was definitely a dig, not simple honest curiosity. But whatever. It's made for an interesting discussion.

Amy commented on the article and her comments have been trending for days, I don't think the op just picked this topic out of the blue. I don't like Amy but I think she looks great

She kind of annoyed me when her entire act is so dirty and then some kid made a joke on twitter, "Just spent the night with Amy Schumer. I pretty sure I'm not the only guy to say that..." and then she responded back, "Oh yeah, right because I'm a whore?" Honey your whole movie, most of your act is based on sleeping around. Lighten up! You aren't the first person I've heard say that (about Amy's reaction to that guy's comment). I just don't think that's fair. When Amy is performing, she creates a persona. Her acts and her character in Trainwreck, with the bad behavior, promiscuity, etc. is just that, an act. Amy was kind to that kid on the red carpet, and then he wrote a a sort of leering tweet about her as a person, not a character from a movie. He was out of line. But he's also young and he apologized, trying to explain himself. I actually thought she was pretty gentle with him. If my 17 year old wrote something like that about a woman just because she played a promiscuous part in a movie, I would have a real problem with that. Actually I would if he wrote that tweet about anyone. As far as the size/weight thing, I really don't care. She says she's a size 6-8 though, I believe her. I think the message she sends about just women appreciating their bodies as they doesn't really correlate with her lying about what size she wears. She completely puts herself out there. She posed naked, opting not to use photoshop, and just letting any natural rolls or folds just show. Why on earth would a woman who lets us see exactly what she looks like need to or want to lie about her size? For people to say there's no way she fits into this size or she has to be that size, how could could you possibly know? You've never even seen her in person fgs!! Every person I know who's met a celebrity in person always say--"They're so tiny in real life!". So however sure you may be about her size/weight by watching her on TV or the big screen, sorry, but you just can't possibly know.

The issue to me is that celebrities claiming they are sizes that are clearly not real doesn't help "real" women.
I am way smaller than Ms Schumer, and I'm not a 6. I am an 8 in Levis, but probably only in Levis.

I am her exact height and at 160 lbs I can easily be a 6 or 8. Easily. And, as we all know there are certain angles, poses that are more or less flattering. I think the picture in the OP post might not be her most flattering. Also, if you see the naked pic she did for that calendar where she is just wearing undies and heals, she FOR SURE looks quite small in that pic. Yes, she has tummy rolls but so do most people when they bend over. And honestly, I couldn't care less what size anyone is, much less Amy Schumer.

In Hollywood, she is plus sized. When you stand her - normal- next to the size 00 of her Hollywood peers she is going to look bigger. She looks bigger because we are used to seeing the 00. If she was your neighbor, you'd think she was a 6 or 8 with maybe a 10 or 12 in there. I'm 6ft tall, I weigh less than my 5'8 friend. She is a size 8. I'm "plus sized" with my size 14 jeans. Our body shapes are just different. I have a big butt, she has a big gut. She has a C cup, I'm a B on a good day.
I do disagree with the post about SHE brought this up or SHE said this. Her instragram disagrees with you. She was not consulted about her size prior to being labeled as plus sized in Hollywood. That would irk me too.
And now I shall sit in shame for participating in this shallow discussion of another woman's weight.

Since I weigh that + I'm 3 inches shorter than her and I wear between sizes 10-12 (M in shirts) in every brand from every store in which I've tried on clothes, yes, I absolutely think she's telling the truth. And I also think it's gross to suggest that she's lying or delusional based on your perception of how she looks.

So... Just curious... Would Pea reactions be the same if Amy S declared that she was 25 in an interview? Would Peas state "whatever she says she is, she is. Why do we have to be so hung up on age?"

I don't care if she's lying about her size or not. She's always looked overweight to me, but I don't give two shits what that weight actually is. I don't find her to be the least bit talented or funny.

My youngest daughter is 5'6" and 160 lbs and wears a size 8 or 10 in jeans. She can often get away with a 6 in a dress with a fuller skirt because she carries a lot of her weight in her butt and thighs, like her mom.
I think Amy is more top-heavy - big boobs and heavy arms - and it makes her look bigger overall.
I think it would be nice if we didn't classify women by size. "Women who inspire us" is sufficient. We don't see articles about inspiring men dedicated to those with a waist size over 36", KWIM?

I don't care what size Amy Schumer wears but I agree with her that it was ridiculous for Glamour magazine to place her in the plus sized category.
Hollywood and the fashion industry basically only recognizes two types of female bodies: 1) those that are perfect (with the help of a personal trainer, good genes and a great plastic surgeon); and 2) everyone else.
I'm not an Amy Schumer fan, but to me she looks like a fit, averaged sized woman, who does not wear plus sized clothing. Why categorize her as plus sized? It's not helpful to plus sized women who are looking for inspiration from other plus sized ladies and it's not helpful to average sized women either.

So what is plus sized? We can't say that it is above average or compare it to average sizes since we are getting heavier year after year.
A size 14 or above? 18?
As soon as zeros ended up on the shelves I knew the clothing industry had gone completely bonkers with sizing.

I honestly thought she was in her 20s....she was born in 1981 though. So good for her. And yes..my response would be the same. She looks fantastic...I don't care what number she is (age or size). Size isn't accurate for everyone. I have a range of 4 sizes in my closet. She clearly works out...her legs show that. I believe she's a 6-8. She reminds me of Marilyn Monroe. Way back in her day she was a 14.....today that would be a 6-8.

I'm really not sure what your point is here. I don't care how old/thin someone claims to be, what does it matter in the grand scheme of things? I'm a UK size 10 and have had to return tops in that size and buy a six recently because they were huge. Clothes sizing is way out these days.

The OP was casting doubt on Amy's claim. Many said it didn't matter if Amy was lying -let her claim what she wanted to claim. Weight is a hot topic on this board. I was curious if the same reasoning transferred to age.

I'm her exact height and weight. I wear a 12. I wear a large/extra large at most places, including the Limited and Loft. Kohl's, Target, Macy's.... still a size 12/large. I'm a 14 in most dresses, for some reason.
I hear people who are my height and weight say they wear 6-8 or a size small. I'm not buying it.

I don't care either way. I would have guessed she was late-20s anyway, so 25 wouldn't be a far stretch in my mind. Again, it's a non-issue to me.

FTR, I don't care how big she is, or what size she wears. I do get a bit put out when people lie about their clothing size and or age. I don't like being lied to, I have no respect for anyone that has a need to do so for the sake of image, and something like this, which is so obviously not the truth, insults my intelligence. There is no way that woman is a size six. She may have clothes that say six, but that doesn't make her a size six.
If she was a body builder with the same BMI, maybe. But she's not.

The fact that this is even a topic is gross.

Sidetrack for a sec...I have never understood this comment. HOW does somebody else lying insult the other person's intelligence? The lie says nothing about anybody other than the person lying. I totally don't get it. Lying is a hot button issue for me. My mother just simply can't tell the truth. Nothing major, just white lies or things to placate people but never being honest or direct. Drives me insane! She wonders and wonders why her life is a train wreck of failed relationships and can't seem to "get it" that it's because she cannot be truthful...with herself or others. Well gosh, I wonder why you can't have a successful relationship?! But it doesn't have anything to say *about* the other people. It speaks volumes about *her.*

Now if you really want to fool yourself about your weight, buy ONLY Chico's and never take the tags out. There's no way she's a size 18-20. That's an obese person, she can still shop at regular stores. If you're a size 4, you're shopping at a plus- size store that starts it's sizing at 0 so plus-size people don't have to wear double digit sizes.

This is why this topic matters and why Amy was right to speak out. And yes, I'm taking it personally. What you have posted is not only rude, it's ignorant and based on your own biases and perceptions. I already shared that I weigh the same as her, am 3 inches shorter and wear between 10-12 and a medium on top. From every store and every brand that I have tried. It is absolutely possible that she is a size 6-8 and the only insulting that's going on is from posts like yours which continue to suggest she must be lying because you "think" she looks larger than she actually is. No wonder women have body issues in this country.

So if her clothes say size 6....then what size is she? That makes zero sense to me. If she can fit a size 6 pair of jeans, then in my book she would be a size 6. I assume they fit correctly and she can wear them comfortably. I don't think she is lying.
