Got my eyebrows threaded yesterday, OUCH. Normally I do waxing, not consistently but I do get it done. Is there any benefit to threading? Waxing doesn't bother me, threading did! I would thread again if there is a good reason to do it instead of waxing.

I thread because I blister from the wax. It gets less painful. Give it another try.

I find threading cleaner, more precise. I've also heard that the pulling from waxing can contribute to premature wrinkles. For me, like kelbel827, the main reason I don't wax is that I react very badly to the wax - not blisters, but hives.

And I don't get hives from the wax, but I once got burned from too-hot wax and OMG.

Threading can be more precise, depending on the therapist but as far as how it affects the hair itself (regrowth etc) there's no difference.
Wrinkles could only really be attributed to waxing if it was done often and if the skin wasn't supported correctly.

I prefer threading. I started because I was using retin-a but have continued because I think it is more precise. The pain is the same for me, although with both, time of the month affects how much it hurts. I think they say not to do either when you are ovulating because of the pain differences but I could be wrong about the timing.

For me, it doesn't turn me nearly as red as waxing does, and there's less risk for it to go 'bad.' Sure she could take too much off here or there, but with waxing I was concerned about being burned with the wax, and ripping the skin and causing bleeding. No concern with that with threading. It hurts less than waxing for me now.

The longer your hair the more threading hurts. If you get it done regularly - or at least every few months - it won't hurt as much because the hair won't be as long.
I find threading doesn't last as long but I like that it doesn't pull my skin.

I got threaded once a few weeks ago and that will be the last time. She pulled my skin off so I had little scabs around each eyebrow! I have NEVER had that happen with waxing. Threading hurt so bad too, worse than waxing to me.

A friend tried it and she said it really hurt. She wouldn't do it again.

I used to wax but it left my eye lids red for hours and had a couple of burn incidents. One wasn't too bad but the last time, there was a scab. I've been threading ever since and while it still hurts, I can deal with it for the 3-5 minutes it takes. I feel like the person can get a better shape with threading than wax and it doesn't irritate my skin.

I get a rash from wax, no matter where I get it done. One time the person made me bleed.
Threading is also more precise. It hurts, but eyebrows look fabulous. I hate to stereotype, but the best threaders ARE indeed Indian or Pakistani.
My threader--OMG. She's the bomb. My skin does not get irritated at all. The woman is a miracle worker.

I do threading now and I find it so painful, I think because it's a continuous procedure while waxing was a couple strips off and you're done.

However, with that said, I've had my brows threaded for a number of years now, so I no longer remember what waxing feels like. It may not be the pain-free experience that I remember it to be. I just think back fondly on it, LOL. I am a Retin A user, so no more wax for me. I have noticed, however-- and maybe it's an age thing, but my brows no longer grow in very quickly at all. I haven't touched my brows in a few months and they look decent. Not great, but decent.

I prefer threading, but I always go after I've had a drink. It stings and that seems to help.

I've been getting mine threaded for about 5 or so years.... I agree, it hurts lol! Not the whole thing, just certain areas are more tender. I also get my lip done, and that hurts as well lol! But agree with some of the previous posters, it's much more precise, and in my opinion, looks better. I had my makeup done last year and the lady told me my brows were "perfect" haha! I can only remember one or two times where I got a little tiny scab... so I'd say that unfortunately, that's in the skill (or lack thereof) of the threader. I really rarely get pink or red at all. Could you try someone else?

Did threading the first time just a few days ago and my experience is so different. Pain free and so clean and lovely looking and not a bit of redness.
I was coming to post my praises but wow have a lot of you had bad lucky. Beginners luck? I hope not, I hope it's the same next time and am sorry to hear such crappy experiences. Maybe you had not as skilled of a tech. She had me pull the skin above my eyebrow up with one hand and eyelid down with other to make skin very taunt so maybe that's part of it. Did you all need to do that as well?

I have threaded a couple times and hated it both times. I'll stick with waxing.

Did you all need to do that as well? Yup. I have to participate in my threading experience as well. I have THICK brows that require trimming with scissors before shaping. The shape you get with threading is so much better, if you have gnarly brows like mine. Annabella has a point - getting waxed is like ripping off a band aid whereas you have to endure some pain as they work their way down your brows. Either way, worth it!

She finishes in about 3 minutes max. She is awesome - even if she does laugh at me when I tell her I think she's killing me. But I would be red for an hour plus with waxing, and I don't turn red at all with threading, so I feel like it must be less irritating to my skin overall?

I didn't even know threading was a thing until teen DD told me. She's goes to get it done and hasn't said anything about it being too bad. I'm 50 now and noticed my eyebrows are thinning. No need to thread but now need to see about other options to make them look more full.
