I am asking for prayers and postive thoughts for my SIL and his family. My heart is breaking for them.
Several weeks ago, my SIL's Mom started feeling sick. She started having diarrhea and nausea. She went to the dr. when it didn't go away. They just told her it was something viral and there was nothing they could do. This past Friday, she began to cough up blood. Her husband took her to the ER. She spent the night in the ER with doctors running test and doing an endoscopy to see what could be causing her to cough up blood. Her stomach was full of blood and they admitted her to the hospital by Saturday morning. The tests showed a mass on her stomach and kidneys and her doctors are suspecting cancer. They were going to do surgery today but decided to perform another endoscopy and ultrasound this afternoon to see if surgery will help.
My SIL's Mom has been on coumadin for a few years but I am not sure why. According to what the doctors have told SIL, coumadin can mask symptoms of cancer and symptoms would not show up until it was to late. She always tries to take care of her health and this is so hard to wrap my mind around.
I am completely devestated for my SIL and his Mom and Dad. He is an only child and very close to his Mom and Dad. His Dad will be completely lost if something happens to his wife. SIL is a step-father (an awesome one!!) to my grand children and they love their Mamaw D very much.
