(yes I'm bored tonight, can you tell?)
Interesting ties with Smith shooter, former cop
Apparently, Smith was dining with a former cop, who had been sued by the suspect for shooting suspect's father.
Interested to see if there's more to this story.

This story is so heartbreaking. It is stranger than fiction how their circumstances were intertwined. Such a senseless tragedy.

I thought Smith hit the man's car (Hummer) and did not pull over? Did I see this incorrectly? This story is very interesting and so tragic.

What a sad, senseless tragedy. I hope police can uncover the truth, whether it was road rage or something more.

Here's a linkIt looks like there is footage of Smith rear-ending Hayes' Hummer before the shooting. Hayes pulled over, Smith went around him and kept going. Then it seems like Hayes returned the favor, and Smith was shot. But why would Hayes suddenly stop in the middle of the street, half a block from a traffic signal? It doesn't make sense. Was he trying to get Smith to run into him?

I'm sorry I hadn't seen that video. I'm curious to see what they find when they really analyze the video. They're close for sure but it looks to me like a tap to the bumper at most. Sad for the families involved either way.

I just find it so odd that the Hummer stopped right in the middle of the street for no apparent reason. I've heard of drivers who deliberately brake, hoping to cause a collision and collect a settlement. Whatever the motive, it just seems like such a minor reason to pull a gun and shoot someone over.
