We're looking into upgrading a couple of conference rooms at work, with the current setup of a laptop and projector to be upgraded to laptop and streaming device to cast content from the laptop to the monitor on the wall. We have one room already done with Chromecast and it works well except there is a bit of a lag between the laptop and Chromecast (a second or two). Someone suggested Apple TV has no lag, but reviews I've read don't really mention that. If anyone has experience with this type of setup and can offer opinions I'd appreciate it.

I have Apple TV with a Mac Mini and projector and iPad in my classroom. I use it to project math curriculum, apps from my iPad for science, and youtube for science. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! No lag at all that I have noticed.
I have chromecast at home with a PC laptop, macbook pro, iPad (x2) and cannot get it to do anything but show youtube, netflix, or certain apps that stream video. No lag that I've noticed but we don't use it much at all since we don't watch streaming video at home.

Good to know. The guy who recommended it loves it also, but he's also using it with all Mac hardware and we have PCs at work. There's software available to allow the two to be used together, so it's still a good possibility.
Too bad about your Chromecast issues. I like the one we have set up already and it's only been a month or so. We use it a lot to review site plans, spreadsheets, powerpoints and all other kinds of boring stuff.

We use the Zoom teleconference system at work. It consists of two 65" Samsung TVs, Mac mini, iPad, camera, phone pad and speaker box. It's nice to get rid of our bat phone and projector.
