Not only YIKES...but WTF were those people thinking by walking up to the sinkhole and taking a look?? How would they know that it was done getting larger? And the person in the car next to it? I would have thrown the car into "S" for Sideways! They showed remarkable restraint in not driving away faster than they did!!

Geez, I'd had a heart attack. I have a long commute to work each day and see some terrible things, including a sink hole. Thankfully the hole had already happened and the interstate had that lane closed and working to start the detour. It was a long 3 months for it to be fixed and then traffic still avoided that lane. Me included hehe.

Maybe from street level as you were driving, it didn't look like a sink hole. Until the black, yawing opening occurred.
Before that, it just might have looked like a bad spot in the pavement.
Who is expecting a sink hole?!

If I was in that black van right next to the hole, I would have been laying on my horn so hard for those stupid cars in the next lane to move to the right a bit. Finally, they did but that would have felt like a lifetime being right next to that hole

I remember growing up on Long Island, on very HOT days, the highways would often buckle upward in the middle of traffic. Talk about driving through a minefield!
