Good morning ladies! I hope you all had a wonderful and successful weekend!!
My girls' soccer team won the soccer championship yesterday! They were so excited and I'm so proud of these girls and their team. We're the first team from our soccer club to ever win the championship in indoor soccer. Last year, our team lost more than we won so this year was just amazing. They were undefeated in the regular season and then won both championship games!
We were at the soccer field for almost 7 hours yesterday and the games were intense and emotionally draining. It's my first experience with any type of playoffs and it was crazy. I was exhausted last night and wouldn't you know it, I couldn't sleep. I think my longest stretch of sleep was from 10:30-12:30. Then I didn't sleep much at all. Needless to say, I am dragging in a BIG way this morning. I have my workout clothes on but man I do NOT feel like working out.
My eating yesterday was awful - in that I ate barely anything. I wasn't expecting to be at the soccer place for so long. But the girls begged to stay and watch the older girls' playoff games. So I didn't have ANY snacks at all...and my dh and the other coach brought all of the team out for ice cream after the game and I held strong and didn't have a single bite. And the entire time we were at the soccer place, I refused to eat any of the delicious nachos or soft pretzels. But that meant I went from 11:15am until 7:30pm without eating. And I didn't get a whole lot of fluids in - 24 oz of water and 30 oz of unsweetened iced tea.
Despite not eating a lot yesterday and drinking even less, my weigh in was decent this morning. I met another mini goal - I'm officially less than 10 lbs away from 199. I lost 2.8 lbs this week after last week's small gain. I'm at a total of 33 lbs lost since Jan 4th.
I hope you all have a wonderful day today!!

brandy327 I'm glad your family had a big day yesterday and now I hope you get caught up soon. I had a great eating weekend and even spent time yesterday packing up 4 lunches for this week. I find that having prepared meals really keeps me in line. Although I had a rough eating stretch last weekend, I found I only gained a pound...and since I was already down almost 3 pounds...it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Happy Monday to all.

Brandy, what a great post--championship winners, weight loss, etc. Congrats to the girls and team, and huge congrats on your great loss!!! That is awesome! And I think being without fluids bothers me more than not having a snack though both are bad. Glad you can have a regular day today. Well, the scale was kind. I lost 0.6 lbs. It's not a lot but it's a loss. I was shocked after my bad day of eating on Thursday and my two huge desserts during the week. Now back to full plan as much as I can this week. Mom and Dad come on Thursday from TX so I hope I can still eat right with them here. We tend to go out a lot when they are here. Finally got permission to do DD's blood checks at home and no more doctor's lab visits. That is huge BUT now we have cardio rehab 3x a week, and it's during the puppies nap time. That's great for the puppies so they aren't in their crates more but that nap time is my art/cleaning/me time. I am SO sad I am losing 3 days of "my time." I need that! But we will get through it. Getting DD's heart healthy is much more important. This will last for about 12 weeks. Fun, fun. Well, enjoy the day everyone!

Congrats on the loss brandy327 and Patter. I didn't check in over the weekend. We had a busy time with birthdays and martial arts and just the normal weekend stuff. My official weigh in was this morning and I am down 3.6 pounds! I am shocked because honestly the only thing I changed this week was cutting out all my junky snacking. I didn't worry about what I was eating for meals, just controlled portions and didn't exercise at all. This week the plan in the same. We have a crazy busy weekend next weekend with lots of eating out so just going to stay the course and then add in another small change the following week. Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Happy Monday!!
The scale didn't move as much as it did Saturday morning when I stepped on it Sunday (such a bitch that scale is) but it was still a 2lb loss so I'm quite happy to take it and keep moving on! I did have a baked potato at dinner Saturday night - we were at dinner at a friend's house, and it was half of one of those pre-done, fancy frozen ones with stuff in the filling. And a few glasses of wine, and maybe a small piece of cheesecake. I'm surprised I wasn't up on Sunday!
Brandy - so exciting!!! I have to say, now that we are in basketball, I don't miss soccer at all. It was exciting while we did it, but the pace of basketball is even more intense.
Starting next weekend (30th) we head into 3 tournament weekends in a row. We totally tanked our first tournament this season, so it will be interesting to see how we do our first two before Provincials the second weekend in May. And tournaments always mean lunch out.....so I'll be doing my best to stick to plan!!
Have a great day all!!

Good morning! The weekends are too short. I feel like I didn't get anything done that I needed to. I do have meals planned and prepared and am determined to not have junk food this week. I had a low calorie day yesterday to try to make up for the weekend (I was still within my calories over the weekend but still gained after having cake and a piece of pizza). Weighed 150 today.
I was supposed to leave for work earlier today so took a shower and have makeup on already, but my first client just cancelled. So I have an extra hour. Should I do my BBM workout now and hope I don't sweat much, or wait until later and do it tonight? Hmmm...

After almost a month of no loss (but no gain either!) I finally lost a pound! I was frustrated but also seeing so many signs that I was losing inches, so I knew the weight loss would have to show up eventually. My clothes are fitting better and some of them are ready to move on to the donation basket. And all that with a wine and steak dinner Saturday night - go figure!
We had a beautiful weather weekend & took advantage of it as much as we could, so we were active all weekend. It is so much easier to get my steps up there when we are having fun :-) Today is supposed to be nice and then a cold front is coming, so I'm planning on a long walk with the dogs. Fresh air makes me sleep better!

I'm on my way back to healthy finally due to the pharmacy of meds I'm taking but still haven't felt like running yet. I did a BodyPump class on Saturday, cleaned my house like you wouldn't believe yesterday and got in a Livestrong Stronger workout this morning. Food was dicey but not horrible. Back to the omlets and salads this week.
Brandy- I think the nachos would have done me in. Congrats on passing up the treats!

Congrats to all on the losses! The scale was a little disappointing this morning. Back up a pound. But, it has been up and down this one pound for almost a week. I want to see the scale budge and move down just one more pound. Let the fluctuation be between a new low and this one please. I was so excited to be so close to my goal for April so early in the month and now I'm working so very hard for the last little bit of that! Had my cholesterol and triglycerides drawn for the first time in 2 years. Have really only been back to exercising for 2 months now and back to eating better for a little less than that. I have been on meds in the past, so I am hoping I do not need to go that route. This continued soft diet might mess with that because I've been eating a lot of carbs lately. I have 4 more weeks to go with it... or more. Every appointment, I expect to be released from a soft diet. I've stopped expecting it.

The scale is exactly the same as last week. So disappointing too. I'll keep at it this week and I know it will eventually move.

My cousin is a new Beachbody coach and has been holding mini challenges since she started to get people excited and get some results that she can use as testamonials. I did 2 clean eating challenges with her and just started another. This one is a bit different though. You create an account for Beachbody on Demand, pick one of their programs and follow it to a T for at least 10 days. You have to commit to 10 days for her purposes but can chose to complete the whole program. I signed up for Turbo Fire since she wants people to chose different programs.
She gave me a food plan and asked me to workout in the mornings since she is trying to break me of my night owl habit!! I food prepped most of yesterday afternoon.
Last night I went to bed at 11:45, set my alarm for 5:55 and then the toddler woke up 2 times in that 6 hours. It was miserable waking up at 6 to workout but I did it. I did the Fire 30 workout which is the first in the series that she assigned to me. Ugh, miserable. Seriously, I'll do the 10 days but AM's are miserable!
Breakfast- omelet with blacks beans, spinach and 1/4 of an avocado Lunch- spring greens, dried cranberries, feta and pecans with oil/vinegar. And a veggie sandwich with a flatout wrap, hummus, spinach, spiralized zuchinni, cucumbers, tomatoes and thin sliced bell peppers. Snack- banana and a protein ball Dinner- chicken stirfry with brown rice. Dh and the kids will have the chicken but I'll probably just stick to the veggies.

Oh melissa, I am sorry you are still on the soft diet. That would be SO hard. Hopefully soon! And I need to get my cholesterol checked too. It's been a couple of years for me also. Thankfully my GP doesn't like meds (which I too used to be on). I am now on garlic and some other natural things. Even when I am my healthy weight and workout a ton, my cholesterol is high. It's genetic. Fun, fun. Hang in there. You are doing great! And congrats to all the other losses too. Hoping we all have a good week this week too.

You all are very inspirational! I joined Planet Fitness on Saturday and was there at 4:30 a.m. this morning to get my 2nd workout in. I had a Shake this morning for breakfast and packed my lunch - salad & chicken. Since the weather was so nice this weekend I cooked out some good protein for the week to help keep me on track.

I've decided to go back to 5:2 fasting because my body really likes the 160s, and my weight loss is crawling. I've been losing 1/2 pound or less each week at my weigh ins. And my 16 DD and I are going on a Hawaiian cruise in June and I wanted to be down 10 pounds by then.
In other news, I actually exercised last week. I walked a mile, which is nothing, but exercise has been really hard for me due to MS/Lyme symptoms. My foot drags when I overheat and so I stumble and trip, and end up limping my way home. Swimming is the only exercise that keeps me from overheating, but the only gym in town with an indoor pool is kinda spendy. I've been waiting for our house to sell before joining...
Which, we finally got a solid offer, and so we should be moving at the end of May. HUZZAH! We are very happy. It will be hard to leave, but I'm ready to get out of this limbo we've been stuck in for 7 months.

I finished my 14 day strict carb challenge with my girlfriends. We are keeping our carbs under 50 net grams per day. Lost 6 lbs so that was awesome! Will probably keep going another week or two since it was so successful. My pants fit again! Lower carb works well for me for weight loss. I generally don't eat bread or pasta, so this was more about giving up my sugar addiction. :/ I think I am within about 10 lbs of my goal weight now. We'll see. Worked out a whole bunch over the weekend: weights of course, plus walking and tennis. So fun to be out in the warm sun again!

Great update brandy327! I'm a little sore from our hike yesterday. The whole thing ended up being 11 miles. 4 of that was incline/decline and the rest was flat. My 16 yr old and I could have gone further but DS and GF were whimping out on us so we stopped. Probably a good thing cause my knees are hating me today. Today is my run day. Not sure if that will happen - guess I will know better when I get home this afternoon and see how my legs are feeling. No loss this week. I'm chalking it up to the mini Reese's my mother in law brought over Friday night. It ticks me off when she walks in the house with crap and says "I know your on a diet but I brought these." grrrr.....

Last night when I was digging through the freezer I found a bag of meatballs that I made last fall. I just had some for lunch and they were really good. I hope I can remember the recipe because they would be good to have on game nights since they are portable. They have a greenish tint so I know they had either spinach or zucchini. I wish I would have written the name of them on the bag!

Hi everyone! Haven't been checking in much, I've had such a busy time at work and then going to the gym I'm just about ready to fall into bed when I get home. I am sticking to four work outs a week and I am consistently hitting over 10,000 steps every day. Screenshots of my Fitbit app were used last week for some promotional stuff for my work, so it was pretty cool to be featured in an email blast.
This weekend was good, I stuck well to my planned meals and got some good runs in. My husband caught a nasty cold over the weekend. I know most women complain about men and their "man colds" but he really isn't one to get knocked down unless it is really serious. I will still plan on my spring Cobb salad for dinner and he can have chicken soup!
B - hard boiled egg, 2 slices of turkey breast, a handful of strawberries and coffee L - tuna salad in lettuce cups with dried pineapple on the side D - spring Cobb salad made with bacon, asparagus, radishes, grilled artichoke hearts, green onion, avocado, and hard boiled egg S - jalapeño hummus and carrot sticks

Hey ladies!
It's great to see so many people kicking off the week positively!
Today I ran while DD was in dance class, and my dad ran the Boston Marathon for the 14th-ish time. He's a marathon badass and will turn 71 on Saturday. My brother and I both stalked him all day with the marathon's app, lol.
Breakfast for dinner with DD tonight, and I'm already food prepped for the rest of the week.
I roasted some broccoli and my mom is all "who are you and what have you done with my daughter?" Ha!! I'm trying to like more veggies!

Had these Cauliflower pizza bites for dinner, they were quite good. My modifications were half the cottage cheese, other half Shredded cheese. Used whole eggs instead of whites, and added some mini pepperoni. www.damyhealth.com/2012/03/cauliflower-pizza-bites/

I froze them two to a bag and then just pulled some out when I wanted them. The ones I had today I thawed and then warmed up this morning and put in a thermos. However, they were not really that warm when I ate them at lunch. I can't for the life of me find something that will actually keep food hot. Anyway, they tasted good just barely warm. I had them and leftover sweet potatoes (the potatoes were cold). They would also be good on salad, noodles, zucchini noodles, etc or as a protein snack.

I assume those have to be plugged in? The problem is that many days I have to eat in my car and don't have access to a microwave, fridge, or electrical outlet.
