UPDATE- 4-25-2016... She's not going down without a fight! Had to get admitted to the hospital on Friday. Two pints of blood and a high estrogen dose (over 24 hours), I'm back to feeling human. Tremendous blood loss due to fibroid (grew 1 to 2.5 cm in 6 months) and hormone change (getting close to menopause). Doc said my uterus is giving up and needs to go. I'm working on getting my rbcs and hematocrit back on track for surgery in three weeks.
I did all I could to save you.. but I have to let you go. Hysterectomy scheduled in a few weeks. Hopefully, you can be removed easily, but maybe not. You did a great job of providing for my twins, but you need to go! Later!

Good riddance, you heinous bitch! I cried a bit while the hormones regulated--I had my remaining ovary taken, but I didn't miss it for a second and was so glad all that trouble was finally over with for good.

When mine was taken, my dd asked if I felt as though a body part was missing. I laughed so hard. I said heck no, I feel free!!!
Best wishes for an easy and speedy recovery.

I'll drink to that. I'm sorry that you have to have a hysterctomy, but judging from what I've read at this site you'll feel much better when it's over.

Ditto to what everyone else has said. For me, it was one less thing I had to worry about.
After carrying & having twins, this surgery will probably be a piece of cake for you.

Good luck with the op. I had it last year and haven't missed it one bit. On the plus side if they take out your cervix as well then no more smear tests ever again :-)

My only regret regarding my hysterectomy was waiting as long as I did to have one. Good luck with the surgery and hope you have an easy recovery!
Cheers!

You will be skipping past the tampon aisle in no time! I haven't missed mine one bit. Plus there's a lot more room under my bathroom sink without three different sizes of tampons and two types of pads and pantyliners. Good riddance.
Oh yeah, I forgot to add that it's pretty thrilling to be able to wear something other than black underwear!

Damn, Marie Kondo is good. When I read your subject my first thought was "does your uterus not spark joy anymore?"
