I've felt better the past few years (since I had my hysterectomy than I ever did before) well, at least since the age of 13 when I started having my period (+ cramps + PMS + fibroids), lol.
I hope your surgery and recovery is quick and easy!!

UPDATE- 4-25-2016... She's not going down without a fight! Had to get admitted to the hospital on Friday. Two pints of blood and a high estrogen dose (over 24 hours), I'm back to feeling human. Tremendous blood loss due to fibroid (grew 1 to 2.5 cm in 6 months) and hormone change (getting close to menopause). Doc said my uterus is giving up and needs to go. I'm working on getting my rbcs and hematocrit back on track for surgery in three weeks. I did all I could to save you.. but I have to let you go. Hysterectomy scheduled in a few weeks. Hopefully, you can be removed easily, but maybe not. You did a great job of providing for my twins, but you need to go! Later! Are you me? Cause that's almost exactly what I experienced! I was so grateful to whoever donated that blood, because I felt the life flowing back into me when I received it. Now tell them to make sure they close you up nicely and you want to wear a bikini. The doctor who did mine left me with a freaking bike tire situation down there...and I'm still thinking about going for some cosmetic surgery to fix it up.

I had my hysterectomy a year and half ago because of fibroids. Best choice I've ever made!

Hope your other organs are as feisty, and keep you in good health! Good luck as you heal and prep for the big day!

The only thing that I think about when thinking of mine is no more bloody months. and no more baby factory.

By the end, my fibroid was the size of a grapefruit and I had blood clots the size of lemons. My doctor couldn't figure out why I wasn't anemic. Uteruses are tough! Not like sissy balls.

Best surgery I've ever had. It was like the best gift I have ever received times 100!! Haven't missed it for a second. In fact I never think about it until one of these threads pops up or one of my friends who still has theirs complains about their period.

Ugh. Not a good update. I hope your numbers get where they need to be so you can have surgery as planned. I hope you're feeling better soon. Hugs.

Sorry to read your update; I'm glad you're feeling a bit better! Here's to a speedy recovery, that your surgery can take place as planned, and that your recovery is smooth and easy!! (and hopefully in a few months you, too, will be posting on threads like these that having the surgery was the best thing that's happened to you healthwise!) ( 950nancy: I LOL'ed at your comment about tough uteruses and sissy balls... It's so true!!)

I'm in the room waiting to be seen by my gyn hoping for an ablation. I wish I could get rid of mine. My uterus is the most inhospitable place right now. I'd love to be finished with it. And I wish someone would send me one of those uterus shaped cookies to celebrate. That would totally kick ass.

Any chance you can get your surgery moved up? Goodbye uterus!
