No, have never used it on my hair, but it's great for trapping fruit flies. Sorry, I just had to share that.

We've used it on my daughter's thick hair, which tends to be oily. It leaves her hair wonderfully clean and shiny, and there's no odor. Dilute the vinegar half and half with warm water, dump it over the hair/scalp and leave it to sit for a few minutes while you're in the shower, and then shampoo and condition normally. It can also help if you have a flaky/itchy scalp.

I use it. I dilute it with distilled water, I wash my hair and then use the vinegar in place of conditioner. I have really thick hair, hard water and issues with conditioner. Conditioner makes my hair feel so weighed down and greasy feeling, no matter the type, how long I rinse etc. I don't have particularly oily hair. Vinegar leaves it feeling really soft, manageable and shiny. I was worried it would dry out my hair but I haven't had any issues with that. I use it a couple times a week. ( I also use it to trap fruit flies  ) |

I used it back in high school to revive my perm lol. It worked really well for that.

I use it as a scalp treatment every single time I wash my hair. It sits on my scalp while the conditioner soaks into my hair and then they are rinsed out together. So it's basically full strength when I apply it to the top of my head and then diluted as it actually rinses down. I've been doing this for many years and it hasn't caused issues. But I do use really moisturizing conditioners as well. The smell isn't noticeable to me by the time I'm toweling it off.
IF shine is the main factor, I'd recommend a cold water rinse instead though.

I have used apple cider vinegar for wart removal. I have not noticed a smell, and sometimes I pour it into a cotton ball and tape it on.

Apple cider vinegar is good. If you rinse it well the smell should go away by the time you get your hair dried. especially if you use hair products on it. I like to use mayo but you have to wash out the mayo to get it all out.

I pile my hair on top of my head with a bunch of clips. Then I spray it on the scalp (put the nozzle right on my scalp). My hair is super thick so I just use the hair to mop up the spillage. Then I spray the outside and let it set about 5-10 minutes. Usually I get distracted... then I hop in the shower, shampoo and maybe conditioner. No smell that I've noticed. When we all had lice.... sigh.... I soaked my hair in it (closed sink, poured bottle over head, put head in sink to sop it all up), wrapped my head in plastic wrap, put a shower cap on and went to bed. Washed it out the next morning with shampoo and didn't have any smell then either. It did not help with the lice but boy oh boy was my hair soft!  |

Back in the dark ages (pre hair conditioner) we ALWAYS finished a shampoo with a vinegar rinse.
About a capful of vinegar in a glass of water poured over one's hair.
I have not thought of that in years--but that was the home remedy for soft hair in the 1950s.

I use the no poo method when washing my hair, with baking soda and an apple cider vinegar rinse. My hair looks great and I don't have to wash it as often as I used to.

So, I just did this out of curiosity! I shampooed as usual and then put the ACV on my scalp, letting it run down the rest of my hair. I used unfiltered, if that matters. I'm letting my hair dry naturally to see the effects, but I assure you I can still smell the ACV! It's been 20 minutes or so, and I keep getting a whiff of easter eggs dyeing!  We'll see what happens when it's fully dry  |

I use it weekly - one tbsp in 4 cups of water. I don't rinse.
I co-wash and the vinegar gets rid of any build-up and leaves my hair soft.

Did you rinse it afterwards? I think it's supposed to be completely rinsed out, so it shouldn't even leave anything on the towel. I use it every once in a while, as someone else mentioned, you should dilute it with some warm water. It's a shock when you dump a handful of freezing cold ACV on your head in the shower!  |

So, it's however many hours later (4?) and I STILL smell like a dyed easter egg! And my hair doesn't feel any better. I didn't dilute it, but I did rinse it quite thoroughly. Not sure I'll try this again anytime soon!
