Welcome to the first day of our May 2016 Tell Your Story Challenge! Everyone is welcome to join in as much or as little as your circumstances allow. Today’s challenge is to take a photo of daily life. It could be your daily cup of Joe/tea/Bloody Mary, your kids eating breakfast before school, getting ready for work, workout, chores, watching Dr. Phil, a memorable text, etc. Anything that’s a constant in your life – especially one that may change later so you'll want to document it now. Feel free to share your daily life photo with the rest of us if you’d like. Seeing other people’s pictures and projects are so motivating and encourage more people to join in. Some may take part in the challenge and some will be working on their own goals. That’s OK! Just as long as you’re scrapping more this month! Thanks again to grammadee for helping us all with this challenge. She’ll be taking over the daily threads tomorrow. Just in case she can’t post the thread every day she might appreciate having a few volunteers who can do this for her once or twice. Send her a message if you’d like to volunteer. Come back and share what you accomplished today.

I've been wasting time looking for sketches when I should have just chosen paper and gotten started. My next set of pictures is a month in review type with 24 small square pictures. It'll be a bit of a challenge to fit them all because I scrap 8.5x11. I guess that's why I'm hesitating. I need to just pick paper and go! Linda, great job on getting so much done today.

OK, now I'm on a roll. I've got pictures and paper adhered to two layouts and I'm going to type up my journaling. Anyone else scrapping today besides Linda and me?
I still need to take a daily life picture! Funny how things can be part of a routine but I still can't think of one on the spot.

Layout #4 2 pg layout "Falling Snow" - cardstock, Soft Spoken sticker, die cut snowflakes, 1 photo (screen shot of weather map) and newspaper clippings

Wow - great job ladies! No scrapping here yet. DS age 6 has been sick all weekend, yet surprisingly energetic (despite us both being up half the night with him coughing!). We're also stuck inside with snow, so we're watching some Scooby Doo right now. On the plus side, I got to visit an actual scrapbook store on Friday, when I took DS to a museum on the other side of town. It's an hour away (the closest one to me), so I've only been once before. I didn't spend as long as I would by myself, but it was fun to actually be in a SB store and see new papers in person! And I picked up a few new papers to play with this month.

I took photos today, but not of routine things but definitely life things.
I've been working on albums. I sorted all the layouts by which album set. Then took the everyday family life album ones and sorted by years. Pre-2009 I took my printed photos and put them in 6-up pocket pages for storage and so they'd be there for scrapping. Now I'm pulling those photos out that I've already made a page on as those were the photos that didn't make the cut. and I'm putting in cards and such as separators between different sets of photos. Deciding which to pull for different albums or for a scrapbook layout. It's a lot bigger task than I had originally thought it would be. I've cleared 3 pocket pages, I have 6 pocket pages complete with cards and still am at the beginning of my first album which really starts 2006. (Everything else was in their ds & dd albums for prior).

Thanks Elsabelle for getting this started! I have had a busy crafty weekend, and just got home this afternoon. justjac and I headed up to Edmonton Friday evening, and arrived at a LSS in time to "meet & greet" Dyan Reavely from Ranger and Dylusions fame. Did a bit of scappy shopping in the store while there. Saturday was a full day in class with Dyan... We did art journal backgrounds: with ink in the morning and paint in the afternoon. Followed by more scrappy shopping. This morning we hit Costco before heading home. The photo that I have to share is a quick page I put together for LOAD over at Scrap Happy. I have decided to go with a Sn@p album with 6x8" pages for this adventure. Their prompt today was to document the everyday as well. I had no time or energy to print photos--or look for ones I have on hand--so I put together my page to represent what for me is an everyday experience that I relish. I NEED coffee in the morning. Need it, I say! LoAD516 Day one by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I actually got to meet one of my May goals and use some artsy technique on this page, using one of the art journal backgrounds I created during the class on Friday!

Linda , you're quite productive, too! I'm working on paper for layout #4 today. I just stopped for dinner and I need to get back to scrapping before DH gets me sucked into his superhero movie marathon. I will not watch Iron Man 2!!! Well... I might. No, I need to get more scrapping done!

I'm almost done for the night. I've done paper, pictures, and most of the embellishing for 6 layouts. I've been looking forward to using the On Trend 2 supplies I recently got from Peachy Cheap and I have the perfect pictures for it. Maybe I'll work on one or two of those layouts before I get to bed. It was a good scrappy day.

I didn't do much more than move some papers around last night after I said I wanted to use On Trend 2. It got late and I got tired. There's always this afternoon! grammadee, your layout made me miss my morning coffee. I had to quit about a year ago because it was causing too many problems for me. Insomnia, heartburn, GERD. I've found that I can drink black tea, though, and that has turned into its own morning ritual, this time with my daughters. We drink tea and start our morning together and we love that time. I have pictures of it but I haven't scrapped it yet. Thanks for the inspiration to do that.

I didn't get any scrapping done but I did make 2 teacher gifts, planned two more and got a graduation card done May 1 and 2. Today May 3 I hope to get some quick easy Mothers Day cards done, since the kids made four things for each of the moms! I need to mail them priority tomorrow!
If you knew me this is HUGE as I don't like doing cards at all!
