This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Hello, Pokeys. I'm sorry to be slow getting the thread posted. Somehow I missed that the end of April was getting near! LOL! It kind of sneaked up on me.
I hope we have the same kind of mojo that we all had last month. The Pokeys were pretty prolific in scrappy projects.
I'll be back tomorrow to chat. Happy MAY DAY!

Hello, Ladies! I had a busy weekend, but am home now and trying to get caught up everywhere. Thought I saw scrapincin 's badge this afternoon, but now I can't see it again.

Happy Monday!
I never figured out how to even upload my badge into my tagline, how technically challenge am I?! Sad thing is, I'm the tech savvy one out of my hubs and me. I thought I saved it from 2peas to my hard drive but can't find it now.
Yesterday, I had an unplanned relax day. Since Don is home to watch dd, DS & I were going to church. The first time in a month. I was up and ready. DS was up, mostly ready, and at 5 minutes until we had to be out the door, he started to get dressed. DS mainly wears sweatpants and hates jeans. So jeans, khakis and dress pants are for church and very special outings. He could not button ANY of his pants that fit a month ago. They were also 1/2" or more shorter than they were a month ago. I was ready to let him wear sweatpants to church, but only 2 pairs of his sweatpants still fit in length and....they were in the laundry. I knew that I was going to need to buy both kids new spring/summer clothes and had already order gift cards with my credit card reward points, now I'm wondering if I might need to redeem some more points. I"m looking forward to taking dd, but ds, well, I think I'd rather be poked in the eye!!! But I hope the gift cards come today so we can go before next weekend.
Today is a work day, but I still plan to attack some of my album organization project that I started yesterday. I'd like to get through 1 album before clearing it all off of the kitchen table.

Grammadee is correct there is a new badge if you are interested. I will post it here in the thread so you can see it and it is also in my signature. I made this a little larger so you could see it better. The one in your signature is only allowed to be a certain size. If you would like it in your signature the following will tell you how. 1. Go to your profile. On that page on the right hand side you will see "edit profile". 2. It will go to another page and you will see tabs above your screen name, click on the one that says Personal. 3. It will bring up another page, scroll down until you see signature. 4. You will need to type the letters-IMG with [ before after the letters and ] after the letters then copy and 5. paste this i64.tinypic.com/2rpela0.jpg[/IMG] into the box. 6. Then below the box is PREVIEW click there to make sure your badge is there. Go to the bottom of the page and click on save. now your badge should show up in your signature when you post.

Thanks, scrapincin ! I got it into my signature. Trying to figure out how to make them all flow in one line, but will figure it out!
Completed my LOAD challenge this morning. Feel like I am cheating because I am using the prompts to create journal sized pages. And I am basically just on "grab & glue & go" mode with these. Just respond to the prompt, no photo. But I am having fun and using some of my inky/painty pieces from the workshop this last weekend.
Here are my LOAD pages for days 1 & 2: LoAD516 Day one by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I make a MESS! by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have a "real" sb page drying. May have to redo the title because I think I overdid the glitter... And I have the photos out for its partner page. May get that one done today. If I get a chance to photograph them before dh gets home and it will be all garden all day, then I will.

Just testing to see if my badge shows up. Wow, Cindy, you are good. You taught me how to put it in the first try. That's amazing. My DD worked with me for 30 minutes teaching me how to get an emailed photo into Picasa, and I worked for another 2 hours after she left. The next time I tried to use it, Picasa wouldn't even come up. Then I got a warning that I had some security problems and that I needed to fix them immediately. Doug was at a program with his girls so I had to wait several hours for him to tell me if the warning was a scam. It was not a scam, but Doug couldn't link into my computer. I did the fix and rebooted and everything worked. Sometimes I hate computers. The little badge is adorable. Thank you, thank you!! Now I don't know how to get my 2peas 13 badge back. I have it on my desktop, but it is no longer on Photobucket. grammadee , I will be back to leave love on your great layouts. So glad your had a good time over the scrappy weekend!

Nylene I will tell you a lot of times when I don't know how to do something on the computer and otherwise I go to ehow.com. They use common every day English not computer talk and that is how I learn a lot of this stuff. By the way I used the tiny pics but I will get you a link for it as the official site would not give me a code. It works like images shack and does not store your photos etc. Here is the link: plugin.tinypic.com/plugin/index.php

Hey ladies! I hope you all had a nice weekend. Nylene, thanks for our new May thread. You really keep us rolling. But I think we might need to change our name since we have been so busy here! LOL! We had a fun day yesterday. Our city hosted a "Ride and Stride" event where they blocked off certain streets and your could walk, bike ride or whatever. They had six or so activity centers along the routes that had music, games, food and all sorts of fun stuff to see and do. It took over a big area and our street was right in the middle of it all. So we walked along with lots of others up the middle of the main street and made it to one of the stations. They had a dj, games and Ron even tried his luck at a basketball toss game. He isn't ready for the NBA though. LOL! It went on most of the day and it was so fun. I hope they have it again next year. Wow, after all that walking though, I am pooped out today. Also, I am happy because I got my K. Simone Designs card business back up and running. We sold several of my Mother's Day cards and that made me smile.I will post more pictures too of some of the designs. For you newer ladies, my dh and I started our business in 2011 and sold cards even at actress Tori Spelling's store. After a few years, I got a little burn out and took a break. So it feels great to get it going again. Since I have been out of it for a while I just assumed I could get my envelopes from Staples like usual. But on Saturday, I found out they don't carry that size envelope in store anymore! I called around to several places and none of that had what I needed. So I was getting a little stressed. Here I've made 20 or so cards but how am I gonna sell them or even use them without envelopes??? But the Good Lord smiled on me because I was gonna order some but just not sure I could get them this week. So there was one last local paper store that Ron went to this morning that not only had them but I got the on sale for $6.00 for 25!!!! Man was I happy and felt so relived. Of course I should of known a store called "Kelly's Papers" won't let me down. LOL! Nylene- You are so sweet! I am glad your dgd liked my art. I learned lots by just watching videos and just sitting down with paper and paint and going for it. I think what really helped me too was when I started art journaling. It was a nice place to experiment and practice as well as express my feelings. If she is as talented as you, she will be an awesome artist! Cindy- Thanks for our new cute badge! You are so good at making these. Hey, your Brown's just drafted our former USC quarterback Kessler. I hope he works out for you along with RG3. Grammadee- You fun back to back weekends you have had. I would love to go to a mixed media party. How was it and what did you all make? ALso, you have been scrapping away. Great job! Waving hi to Lisa, Maribeth, Maryann and all you other dear friends. Have a good one!

Hello, everyone. I'm glad to see the Pokeys off and running already this month. scrapincin, thanks for the link. I have bookmarked it for when I need it later. I was able to repost to Photobucket, but they may remove it again. I am loving seeing the little Pokey Pea pop up in our signatures. Thank you again, talented lady! #grammadee, great job on your pages. I love photos of little boys involved with grandparents. Very sweet. I don't know how much I will get done on the May challenge. I was looking at my calendar and I think every grandchild who lives nearby has a year-end activity before the 27th. Could be a busy month! kellyr21, I am so glad you found the envelopes that fit. That would have been terrible. I just checked out your art shop. What fun! Do you plan to add your cards to your shop? Your Ride and Stride sounds like fun. Sometimes I wish I lived in a larger city. I think I would have sore legs too. Is this held right in Downey? maribeth, you have done so many pages already. I would like to be a little mouse and ride along to some of your interesting places. You probably know more about the West than I ever will. Keep up the good work! LisaDV, how is all the reconstruction going? It sounds like it's a bit cold there still. We had horrible winds over the weekend, but it's warming up a bit now. When you homeschool, do you take a summer break, or do you teach year round? My little students are so tired of school that they are not accomplishing a lot. It seems to take half of the time to just get them moving and out of their funk! I finished a page last night, but it's one small photo and the rest of the entire page is journaling. I really hate it and am trying to talk myself into tearing it apart and making the font tiny and adding embellishments. Aargh! I will probably just leave it and call it an informational page. I need to go get things done around here. I'll be back later.

Happy Tuesday. Dh has a vehicle service appointment, then lunch with friends and some shopping in Lloydminster (He LOVES going to Canadian Tire and Princess Auto and Home Depot). Then he has a barbecue supper tonight with some friends he used to work with around here.
So I have the whole day to do my own thing. I have been scrapping up a storm: one journal page and 4 scrapbook pages so far. This is the last day I have to play all day for awhile. Tomorrow I need to do a greenhouse run. Thursday and Friday we will be planting potatoes and set onions. Saturday we have dinner theatre, and then Sunday we are going to dd's home for mothers' day brunch. I will be staying for a few days to babysit Mikey while dd is away at a course.
Not sure if I will finish any more pages today. My creativity is starting to sag. Might just pull out the next set of pictures, and then I can find papers and embellies as I walk by later.

nylene, I love pages with lots of journaling. I go through galleries and see pages without any journaling and wonder if they add it after uploading. I've done that a few times. Or if they just never have any details. I'm not fond of no journaling pages, but those with lots make me happy. - As for homeschooling and summer's off, it depends upon the year. When they were young, yes. Now? I prefer keeping at least something going - usually it's math and something else that changes. A good thing about homeschooling is that we can be flexible. I don't think my kids could make it in public schools. Typically, they can finish their actual book work in just a few hours, unless a new concept is being covered in multiple subjects. They can take their books outside on nice days or work in the morning, break for outside play all afternoon and work in the evening. We don't have snow days, but we do at least one nice weather day each year. Also, if both of my kids can't concentrate, I've called a mental health day. It's for my mental health, otherwise I'm going to get upset and yell at them. They usually have 2 or 3 of those per year, but they don't know the rhyme or reason behind it. scrapincin, I found my little 2peas icon. It's on my hard drive and I don't have a photobucket account. Do you by chance know how I link the little guy to my sig line? grammadee, You're already planting? We've only done our orchard trees that came without dirt. Construction update: We had a fence put in yesterday. Although Don didn't get the right kind of fencing or gates for the chicken and rabbit pens. Also the rabbit pen gate faces the road. Although DH told me it was to face the garden right after meeting with them, so I think the fence people are the ones who screwed that up. But it wasn't like there was a finished little map and a sign-off. I should have double checked it all. Actually I should have just been there. DH still needs to finish the flooring in dd's room and the hallway, but for the last month plus a week or so, he's only been home a day to a day and a half. Last week he was home for 5 days, but the weather was nice so...he spent all his time outside, not like that was a big surprise. Also I had a DUH moment yesterday. DS's room has the flooring already down. I still haven't bought trim, but I could totally have been moving him in over the last month. So Don will help me this weekend put up the bed. DD Health: She will be starting immunotherapy hopefully next week or the week after. We'll being doing drops instead of shots which are not covered by insurance, but also doesn't require us to go to town to have them. She has a neurologist referral for her motion sickness and the initial consult is July 21st and in the meantime we will try those cruise ship patches for even our local trips to town. I'm off. It's taking me an hour to write this post as I've had to keep getting up for the kids and for phone calls. (I should have snagged DH's laptop instead of trying to do it on my desktop.)

grammadee , You're already planting? We've only done our orchard trees that came without dirt. We start the first week in May with potatoes and onion sets. Then the second week we usually seed the more hardy plant seeds like peas and corn and carrots. I get bedding plants some time in there: tomatoes, cabbages, cauliflower, celery, peppers, broccoli, ... We keep those on a wagon that moves between the garage and the driveway for at least a couple of weeks: we get frost here until late May. Then the last week in May or first week in June, we put in the more sensitive seeds like pumpkins and cucumbers and beans. And we set out bedding plants.
Today I am going to the greenhouse to pick up some onion sets and to order my flower pot: she seeds it for me for pickup in a couple of weeks. May get some seeds as well. I have some from my Stokes order last year, so don't need a lot.
Hoping they find an answer for your dd's health, LisaDV !

More Mother's Day Cards by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr Happy Wednesday! Here are more of the cards I made for Mother's Day. My mil ordered these and I was happy to deliver them to her on Monday night. She was so happy! We sold more this week and I am so happy with how our restart is going. I have lots of ideas for my business and hope to get some sold in a few stores again too. Nylene- How are your teacher cards coming along? Yes, I plan to get some of our cards back on my Etsy shop and/or my blog. Still need to decide. Also, the walking and riding event was held in our little city. It was so fun to see all ages out enjoying themselves. Maribeth- I didn't even think of putting my latest painting on my art shop but thanks for asking about it. I think I will. Your camping sounds so wonderful. Just hearing you talk about your relaxing trips makes me want to at least take a day trip somewhere. Look at all the pages you have done. Awesome! I must go over to gallery and see them up close. Lisa- You asked on my blog if I have a place at home for my new art. So far, I have it in my front room and I hope to find some wall space for her at some point. I just love looking at her. LOL! Hey, your place is really coming along. You really sound like you are on a farm. When I was growing up, I lived in a semi-rural area. We had a friend's horse for a while and then later I got a pony and lamb. I was in 4-h club and that was a cool experience. So, I can imagine how wonderful your home and yard is gonna be. Grammadee- Congrats on the special new challenge you are running here. It is nice to see all this activity on our Two Peas again. Also, your garden sounds like it is gonna be delicious. How is the weather there? Does it get humid in the summers?

kellyr21 , thanks so much for posting your cards. They are just gorgeous. Makes me miss my mom...she would have loved one of these! I am glad you are going to include them in your shop. I made 16 cards today after school. Little by little I am getting enough to fill a box for each teacher. Well, for the first time ever, I completely tore apart my layout that is mostly journaling and added just a little embellishment. Usually, I can just consider a page done and move on, but this one really bugged me so I had to start over. I also made cards for my grandson and granddaughter's b-days tomorrow and the next day. I will get them all posted soon. I have not been following the prompts, but I am scrapping and that's the goal, right? grammadee , I agree with Kelly, your garden sounds delicious. We have a small plot for tomatoes, but that's all we grow, besides flowers and weeds! It sounds like you are really scrapping like crazy. I'm so proud of you. Keep it up! I love reading the prompts and one of these days there will be one that fits what I have that needs to be scrapped. In the meantime, I plan to scrap whatever. Thanks for all the work you are doing here at 2peas. Edited to add, I made 1000 posts today! Yay!

Wow, nylene , that is a lot of cards you are producing, and remaking a page as well, you are certainly getting some scrapping done! All I did craftwise today was the journal sized page for ScrapHappy, and finished a 12x12 page I started yesterday. Spent the day visiting greenhouses. Got onion sets, a hanging flower pot, and about half the bedding plants I need. Left a large planter pot to have them put some plants into it for me. Dh has been busy on the tractor working up the garden and spreading fertilizer. Not sure when we will be putting in the potatoes: Thursday or Friday. It has been hot here--around 30C, which is about 86F--but low humidity. Supposed to be cooler over the next couple of days, so perfect for doing the planting.

kellyr21, your cards are so lovely! I did 4-H for a couple of years as well. We're hoping after dd's health improves that they'll be able to as well. nylene, you are busy. Congrats on 1000 posts!! YAY! grammadee, I'm still trying to figure out my last frost date. The 3 main towns that box us in have dates of 5/24, 6/9, and 6/23. I was telling Don that even just a mile up the road have flowers that bloom at least 2 weeks before mine. I was hoping to finish off dd's floor before we start planting. At least we'll have a garden this year, but I look forward to the day when we have it all down pat like you. Thanks for posting all of the TYS threads and moving that along. I've been looking forward to jumping on first thing every morning this month! You are not pokey at all. I love it! I think I mentioned how I wanted some time for crafting where hubs takes the kids, but it wasn't going to work out. So I told him I still wanted him to be the responsible one, meal planning/preparation being the chore he has to really take over. I told him even if I was helping him with the floor it would be good for him to have to then come and cook when we take a break, which is what I normally have to do. He's came home with groceries and a meal plan last night. What a good man! With my cold kicked up a notch, I'm off. It's 12:30 and I think I'll go get dressed for the day. ha. I want to play a bit, then I'll rest a bit, then maybe go get wood (still need fires in the morning to take the chill out of the air & because we like fires; and with the colds, we want it warmer through the day too), then rest, then craft. awe. sounds like a good day.

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not been able to get on for the past couple of days! Got a new entertainment center and then we took the older one apart and saved the two ends for storing my stereo and the other stores video tapes. But you have to take it apart before you can do it. Anyway I was trying to help him when he needed it. Tuesday we went to Maggie's spring concert. She had the only solo! It was part of a medley of songs from Annie. Next week is Bobby's concert in which he has a speaking part! My talented grands! LOL My scrap room is a total mess so I need to go in there and straighten up so I can do some scrapping as I am behind on the kids special events! Nylene- congrats on 1000 posts and all the cards you are making! Those teachers are going to love them!
LisaDV the link above for tinypics -where you don't have to have an account is plugin.tinypic.com/plugin/index.php you will upload your photo and copy the image code for it then paste it into your signature box lined up right next to your Pokey badge.
Kelly I am so glad to see your store opening again and your cards are gorgeous! I am excited to see this guy Kessler play and they also picked up Bruce Matthew's son as a center and he is the nephew of the previous star player of the Browns Clay Matthews!
Grammadee-sounds like you are going to be busy planting for a few days but oh how good those veggies will taste at harvest time.
Ok I have work to do and will be back later.

scrapincin , I hope that all your work taking apart your entertainment center means that you are feeling much better. Are your shingles doing better? Congrats to your sweet Maggie. What an honor to have the only solo. I hope Bobby's concert goes well too. You do have talented grands! LisaDV , I love your idea of having DH take over the planning and fixing of meals. I was thinking that same thing today. What I'd like to ask for Mother's Day is to having nothing at all to do with meals for a whole week. No shopping, no planning, no fixing and no clean-up and let DH do it all. I'm afraid it would be a week of McDonald's, Burger King, etc. LOL I hope your cold gets better and you get some real scrapping or crafty time. maribeth , how's the organizing going? You must be busy, I'm missing your happy quotes! Hope you are well. kellyr21 , I just saw your cards on scrapbook.com. I left you some love there too. Such beautiful work you do. grammadee , I don't know how you have time to help plant when you are really scrapping up a storm!! I don't know where in Canada you are, but I hope you are not near the big fires. What a tragedy for all those people. Here is my layout I tore apart to add the cut-outs of birds. It's not an artistic layout, but I wanted to get the story recorded. Backyard Birds by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Glad you got your page the way you wanted it, nylene . I often find that if I leave a page for awhile, an idea will suddenly occur to me of how to make it work. We live about 400 km (or 250 miles) south of the Ft McMurray fires. I can sense smoke in the air here, but it is not overwhelming yet. It was worse last year from fires in BC that were a lot further away, but in the path of the prevailing winds. Thoughts and prayers are with the Ft Mac people. It is hard to imagine all those people being evacuated so quickly from a community that has only one major road on which to drive out. The airport was shut down because of poor visibility.

Good morning Pokeys nylene - unfortunately my absence from the board over the last few days was not due to scrapping or organizing. My husband's daughter (50) and her friend came in for a visit. Hubs is all things wonderful, but being a "host" is not really his strong suite so it was kind of up to me to keep the conversation going in the evenings when I got home from work, and then I am so OCD about waking people up that I got up in the morning and went out the the RV to get ready for work so I didn't bother them with the hair dryer etc. Your page looks great! Will be leaving love after my post. grammadee - You are scrapping up a storm! So glad to hear you are not currently in harms way, I had been wondering that as well. I have a FB friend I met through playing games years ago on FB that live in Canada, I need to touch base with her. The few news feeds I have seen and the photos posted on FB look absolutely frightening. Oh my gosh as I was typing this a news report came on with even more scary footage. kellyr21 - your cards are beautiful. I love the color pallet you chose they are so feminine and bright and cheery. will leave love after my post LisaDV - Hope you get to work some scrappy time into your busy schedule soon, but first you need to rest and take care of that cold. Feel better soon. scrapincin - Busy, busy, busy, but thankfully it is all good things going on for you. I know the feeling of wanting to get caught up on those events. Scrappy time will come soon, I am sure you will make it so. I have some great Courthouse Lady news - In 2013 when I realized I was not going to be able to travel to the 3,144 US counties myself to get the Courthouse photos I began my search to find people who would give me permission to use their photos on my pages. At first I focused my search on those that had large collection of photos. I found several that had complete collections of individual States. Right away I was given permission from individuals and groups for Washington State, Arkansas and Ohio. The I experienced several vehement "NO's" by several others that had large collections. I took those NO's pretty hard and stopped looking and concentrated on getting the ones I had put on pages. After my March Madness in Calvinball, I am finally down to about 10 Courthouse photos from those initial States. I decided I needed to begin my search again and hope I can find some more generous photographers. I had contacted John Morrison of Prairie Vistas Photography back in 2013 who has an absolutely beautiful collection of the Kansas Courthouses. He sold his photos in large format (like poster size), and I had asked him if I could purchase them at a 4 x 6 size. On our last email in 2013 he said he was willing to do that and that he would work on a price, and then he never go back to me. I didn't pursue at the time. Desperate for more photos I decided to contact him again to see if he would still sell me the photos in that 4x6 size. He responded to my email with a link to dropbox and he gave me all the digital files to print the photos myself in a 4x6 size. How great is that!!!!! Now I have another batch of Courthouse photos to keep me busy! And hopefully I can find some more generous folks to help me fulfill my dream! Have a wonderfully Pokey day ladies!

maribeth, that is great news. Glad you have some new photos to work with. Also that's very sweet of you to go to the RV to dry your hair. You are definitely quite the hostess. scrapincin, thanks for the info. Will try it out soon. nylene, I love your layout! the cutouts are a great accent. I see why you re-did it. To not get fast food, you have to move to the country so it isn't an option. It also helps to have a daughter that can't eat processed foods or frozen meals. We have to cook from scratch with gluten, egg, cheese, and dye free ingredients. I did do some crafting yesterday. I finished a very simple layout, I worked on some ATC card items, and I have another working layout on my desk this morning. It's good. And I feel a better today. The cold is still there, but hopefully, I'm on the upswing. I have DS & I taking our maximum allowed Airborne everyday. DD has her multiple vitamins to help. I expect Don to kick me out of my craft room later, well, really, he just wants to play a game and veg on my computer, but I don't really like to be crafting with him right there. Plus my set up, sometimes I need things on the side of the desk the computer is on. I'll grab his laptop and hop on the gallery to leave when it happens.

Happy Friday! It has been raining here and Lord knows we need it. I have been taking nice long walks but today I think I will stay in and be cozy! Thanks for all the love about my cards. They have brought me so much joy and joy to lots of others who bought and will receive them. We just about sold out and that is so cool! I shared some pics of these cards in the gallery at Scrapbook.com and today I got an email that I won a $10 coupon to their store!!!! I was so surprised and elated especially since I wanted to order more stuff soon. Lisa- I hope you continue to feel better! Sending you some virtual hot tea. Hope you get to scrap this weekend. Cindy- Of course those dgks are talented. Look at you! LOL! I know you all must be so proud of them. School is going to be out soon. are you planning some fun crafting with them? Also, wow your team got Clay Mathews brother? I hope he will be a great player for you all. Nylene- Oh boy, you did get lots of cards made. I know the teachers will love them. Maribeth- That is so cool that you got all those courthouse pics. I know you will have a ball creating new pages with them.

Another gardening day. Got the onion sets in the ground Somehow I managed to finish 3 pages today, along with my LOAD journal page. Two of the pages were pretty quick and dirty: 3 or 4 photos, a title, some journaling. Here is the only one that was a little different, and even this one has very little for embellishments: natural hockey fan by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Good news about your photo haul, maribeth . Do each of the photos have a title or a sign in front to identify which courthouse it is? I need to go now and set up the TYS prompt for NSD.
