I made my first grocery order this weekend with a pick up scheduled for this afternoon and had a really disappointing experience. I had to wait a long time for my groceries to be delivered to my car (they were slammed during that particular delivery block) and then when I got home I realized that half a dozen items had not been included in my order. I hadn't been charged for them but I really needed them for my weekly menu and for lunches this week. Now I have to go back and do more shopping to pick up the things that I should have gotten. If they couldn't find these exact items I authorized that substitutions could be given but I didn't receive any substitute items. I spoke with a customer service rep and all she could do is credit my account for $5 for my troubles. I'll try this service one more time but if I have another experience like this one, I'll be shopping somewhere else. I don't like shopping at Walmart on the weekends because they get insanely busy and shoppers get crazy and rude, so I thought this would be a good solution to not having to shop inside the store as often, but if they leave stuff out of my order it defeats the purpose!
Anyone else have an experience like this?

I've tried several times but the website always goes "down" as I try to edit my payment method. So,for now I'd say it is a bust. I'd be mad to have items missing from my order and not being told at least at the time of pick up so I could urn in or hit up another store that is less busy.

I have used it weekly for the last 6 months or so! Love it & have never had a problem. As soon as they come to the car, they go over the order paperwork, show the substitutions (if any) and get your approval on those, and signature. It sounds like your location doesn't have the process right.

Huge time saver for me AND I definitely don't spend as much $$ vs when I shop. I pretty much just buy what is on my list and that's it-no wandering the aisles adding more to the basket as I go! I have learned which days are the popular days/times for pickup so I avoid those blocks, just to make the process a little quicker.

I have been using it every week since it started in our area and have only ever had one thing missing. It was my last order and not a big deal. I just went in later (when I had to get something else) and they reimbursed me for the missing item. Their customer service has been absolutely WONDERFUL! The guys are so friendly and helpful. I honestly want to write an email to their corporate offices and tell them how great I think this service is. I love it. Love it. LOVE IT! Did I mention I love it?

Judging from your responses, I'm guessing I happened to be in the minority by having a bad experience. I'm hoping the store irons out the kinks and the service gets better.
Redshoes, which times/days have you found that you need to avoid. My suggested time was Sunday afternoon, which I think probably contributed to the madness. What are the best times to pick up?

Oh my gosh! They have it in my area! Anything that keeps me out of a store is a good thing!

I've only had good experiences. I don't do my big, weekly shopping there but do use the service for specific items - paper products, toothpaste and such, and my staples. I guess they know me so well that one week I didn't order my regular whole wheat tortillas and the guy actually put them in my bag. The only thing I don't care for about it is that I can't use coupons. I also like to pick my own produce so I don't get a lot through the online thing. The guy that works at my store does know that I like green bananas and he picks those out for me. It is really nice that he knows me like that now. My 16 yo daughter has been going after school to pick up for me and even she says they are "always so friendly." I really don't care for going IN WM but do appreciate this service! m

Sunday and Monday are the busiest times at my store-they said everyone getting ready to start the week! I've had great luck with mid-week and Saturday morning pickups.

I just picked up my first order yesterday and I was very pleased! I placed another order for pick up next week too. Like a PP mentioned, I will save money from not buying impulse items. They were all very friendly too. It saves me a lot of time!

I've used our local Vons a couple times but have recently had DS using Amazon. Not too bad except there is sometimes a delay (a couple of hours) getting the order. First world luxury for sure, but I hate grocery shopping.
I don't think Wal-mart delivery is available in our area yet (northern San Diego county).

I hate shopping at Walmart at any time. Our Walmarts are terrible. Dirty, rude and uncommitted employees, horrible produce. Not worth the 50 cents it takes me to drive over there.

I have not used this particular Walmart service. However, Walmart consistently has the worst website of any retailer I deal with. Searching for something - who knows whether you will find it or not. If you do find it and it says it is in the store, you have probably a 50% chance it isn't there. Says it isn't in the store? Well, it might be anyway. Oh, and definitely don't expect to find the same price online and in the store.
I just recently started using their mobile app for the Savings Catcher and surprise, surprise it only works maybe half the time to actually do the scan. It gives me an error message on the first scan every single time and might work the 2nd time through.
So I'm not surprised to hear that yet another on-line experience at Walmart is disappointing.
I shop the store because I live in a small town and there are few other options.

I received an email that this service was available, so I spent over half an hour putting together my cart. When I went to check out, the closest store available was about 10 miles away which in Houston traffic is about an hour. Needless to say, I was not happy.
Normally I really dislike shopping at Walmart, but they just built a brand new one a couple miles from my house, and they've done a really great job of keeping it clean and the food selection is really great. I still go to my local grocer for meat though.

My cc was hacked when I used Walmart. I will not shop with them online anymore.

We have a Walmart, in a smaller city of 25K. I just tried it and I would need to pick up 2 items one day, 21 the next and 1 the week after. But once you hit $50 it's free shipping and it's the day after you would pick it up, so not too, bad I guess.
