Also, I love, love the WW app/tools for the phone. I went around Costco and scanned every single bar (like Luna, granola bars, etc) they have. I couldn't believe that even Kind bars are six bloomin' points. So no more bars for me. Well this is not good news. I'm addicted to bars. I have one every day with breakfast, and I am about to start Weight Watchers. What is a good breakfast for someone who doesn't like eggs?

Your points distribution doesn't sounds so terrible to me. You should be eating all of the allowed points each day and dinner should be your lightest meal, so having 8 points for dinner left isn't really bad, is it? Enough for a small serving of animal protein, lots of veg, I would think (if my memory of points holds true).
I found WW a real pain, especially trying to figure out how to track points with foods I made from scratch. I try to eat real foods with a focus on moderation and variety but tracking points was much easier if I ate prepackaged foods, the same things every day, and not so many different ingredients (it would take longer to figure the darn points than to make and eat the meal). The hassle and the chore of tracking is a big part of why it works. What I was eating became a central focus in my life. BUT the best part was that fruits and veg were a free pass. If in doubt, grab something straight from nature. You can eat a whole lot if you just eat veggies.

I dropped with this last program revamp, when everything I typically ate basically doubled in points. Indeed, it is easy to lose weight if you have start eating half of what you did yesterday! I just couldn't make the switch and am working with my old program materials instead. I guess for me, it feels like I am eating more. I could not survive on a lunch of a Kind bar and water as another poster mentioned. I pile on the vegetables as much as I can and I love that fruits are now zero. They were zero under the points plus, too, but yeah, I think that was a huge improvement for a lot of people.

It was, definitely! I first started WW back when Points first became a thing. A whole banana was 2 points. I basically stopped eating bananas, because I didn't want to spend 2 Points on a banana, and I didn't want to eat just half (and have the other half to find something to do with). When I started back on Points Plus several years ago I swear it was exhilarating to enjoy fruit, especially bananas.

joblackford I cook from scratch a lot. The recipe builder is wonderful for figuring out points for a recipe.

joblackford I cook from scratch a lot. The recipe builder is wonderful for figuring out points for a recipe. Yes, I do this a lot too. I have now entered our family favorite recipes. Most of mine are about 8-9 points average (some over; some under). I can then choose what I want to make that night depending on the points I will have remaining for the day. Love it! And the other night when the college kiddos came home, they wanted a favorite. It was 11 points. I chose to cook it for the family but had leftover pork chops for myself because I didn't want to "spend" that much. I don't usually do that but that particular night I did. And my pork chops were yummy!

I too am a recent WW member. I'm struggling too for food choices. I was on a "diet" from a nutrition center & got sick of it draining my bank account & needed something to keep me on track. It would be great to have a WW thread on the recipe board!
