Not just the mediation agreement that we've been tossing back and forth since January.
We've got the final divorce agreement, with STBXH already having signed it. I will take it to my attorney tomorrow and sign.
His attorney will file it with the court and all we then wait on is the Judge.
Our 29th anniversary is a month from today. I don't know how long it will take to work its way to the top of the pile on the Judge's desk, but would it not be completely ironic to have our final decree be signed on our 29th anniversary?
I felt guilty today that I don't feel sad that my marriage is just about over. (reality is, it's been over for a long time) The emotions I do have are relief that I no longer have to deal with him and excitement at the thought of starting my new life.
No sadness or fear here.
I can move as originally planned on May 27th. I'll be moving into a brand new apartment...first tenants moved into the building last weekend. Still 2 additional buildings to open up in the next few months. The whole complex is less than a year old. I realized I won't even have to change the light bulbs in my ceiling fans. A quick call to maintenance will take care of that.

My divorce was finalized on my birthday. It was kind of bittersweet. At the time I still wanted to find a way to make it work but somehow I knew it was over. I was sad at the time, but now I realize it was the best gift.
There's nothing wrong with accepting that it's over, feeling relief over it, and being ready to move on. Good luck!

I had the ultimate irony and my divorce was final on my 14th wedding anniversary. Even the judge snickered a little at that. It feels so freeing once it's actually done. Good luck with the next chapter.

Our divorce was finalized one day before our 19th wedding anniversary. I was feeling like you, not sad but looking forward to it being over and starting over.

So glad you could come up with an agreement that did not require a court fight.
Good luck on the new chapter of your life.

My parent's divorce was finalized on their 20th wedding anniversary. My mom was more than okay with that.
