Good morning!
Today begins a 4 day challenge, really 5 days. I am working 48 hours over the next 4 days, 36 of those are 7pm to 7am. I have a tendency to eat to help me stay awake and focused and if I don't eat, I am very hungry during my personal bewitching hours, 3am-5am. If I am not asleep during those hours, it takes me a day to catch up almost no matter how much other sleep I get. The day after this run of too much work, I expect to be a bit of a zombie. Hoping I am awake enough to sew that day. I made one new bathing suit yesterday and hope to crank out one more. Cannot tell you how nice it is to have something that I can make fit me! Everyone should learn to sew! LOL. It's not hard once you learn the basics.
Sadly, while I brought some healthy snacks (2 halo oranges and some almonds), I left the bag of refrigerated snacks at home. I bought a little 150 calorie snack pack in the cafeteria this morning. It has grapes, carrots, a tiny bit of cheese and a few mini pretzels. Hoping to skip the mini-pretzels along with the big cake for nurse's week and the box of munchkins.

I spent 2 hours doing food prep this morning and minus making granola tomorrow - I'm done!! Chicken w/gravy over brown rice with broccoli, carrots & peas for 3 days (for dh) and then pork roast, oven roasted potatoes, oven roasted zucchini, summer squash and onions for the other 2 days. Plus 12 egg patties with bacon for dh and ds for the week. And tons of fruit and veggies prepped for grab & go. No exercise today as we're heading out for soccer in a few. Then home to grill chicken & pork chops, steam some broccoli and make some corn on the cob.

When I grow up I want to be as organized and prepared as brandy327! I have cleaned house and went for a short 2 mile run. I need to get in the shower and then I am heading out for some shopping with my dd. My eating has been awesome today. I have been so busy the last few weeks that I have been slipping too much.

So far, today has been a great day! WE FINALLY HAVE SUNSHINE AFTER 17ish DAYS OF RAIN! I can't even express how happy this makes me! I went to my WW meeting and was down 2.6 lbs for a total of 17.4 lbs. I'm slower than a lot of you on here, but I'm doing it. I'm quite proud of myself. After my meeting, I took advantage of the sunshine and the lovely breeze and cranked out a 3.66 mile walk. My foot is sore right now (stupid plantar faciitius!) but I was really missing it. I took it easy--no personal records for time, but I needed the walk. It helps me get out of my head and just "be". It's so nice. Got groceries done and a quick run to Target. Ready to food prep for tomorrow. This evening, the husband and I will do dinner out and then see a movie. It's been a while since we've had a date night, so I'm excited. Going to ice my foot a bit and get a shower in. Then I'm making an appointment for a mani-pedi tomorrow! I could use a little TLC!

I may have to take a no-exercise weekend. I pulled a muscle in my right hip and it hurts! It doesn't mean I get two days off...just no treadmill. It's not even 11am and I have already gone to the grocery store, did significant yard work, 2 loads of laundry. I already have 5,000 steps so I will defiantly get those in with no problem.
Oh...I registered for a 5K that's in 2 weeks. It was totally spur of the moment but I'm looking forward to it. It will be the first timed 5K I have done so I'm interested in seeing how my running on the treadmill will equate to running in a real 5K.

Hey everyone! Getting caught up after (yet another) busy week. DD is at her dad's this weekend so I'm getting alllllll sorts of chores done. Washed and cleaned the car, groceries, trip to TJ Maxx (I get the best deals there!), laundry, bills, etc. etc. etc. I passed up a trip to the beach (sob) because I knew if I didn't get all this stuff done it would just pile on top of everything I have to do next week. Tonight I'm taking prom pictures for a friend whose 17 year old autistic son is going. He asked the girl, got a suit, the whole 9 yards. My friend has been a fierce momma bear advocate for him all these years and I'm so excited to be able to do this for her! brandy327, how do you make the egg patties? They look like something I could use! missfrenchjessica, I never realized how much sunshine affected my mood until I moved from WA to FL. Enjoy it! needmysanity, you'll have to keep us updated on the 5K! How exciting! Take care of that muscle. Do you have a foam roller you can use to roll it out a bit?

brandy327 Yes- I want to know about the egg patties, too. It's a pain to have to scramble eggs- I know I'm lazy! I just want a quickie breakfast. I made another quiche a few days ago and have only eaten a couple of slices. I just want cottage cheese and fruit when it's hot outside.
TankTop What do you put on your pork tenderloin pizza? Tell me again, please.
Today was a day off from the trainer, so I went to regular gym and did my own workout. I am taking tomorrow as a rest day since I've worked out 6 days in a row.
My eating has been good. I did breakdown today and buy some Breyers No Sugar Added ice cream. I wanted CarbSmart, but chocolate was the only flavor they had. Must have vanilla. I will eat it sparingly...

I've had a decent eating day and did several hours of work in the garden. Pulling weeds and mowing may not get my heart rate up, but I'm out there and moving around.
My biggest challenge right now and my goal for the week is drinking more water. I just don't crave water and must force myself to drink. I'm no where close to 8 glasses a day. I bought a container so that I can diffuse water with fruit and I like that a bit better, but I'm still not a water drinker. I know how important it is for weight loss, not to mention your overall health.

littlefish & alexa11 I bought a really small cast iron skillet from Bed, Bath & Beyond...it's only about 5 or 6 inches across and works PERFECTLY for egg patties. I use 2 eggs and scramble them in a cup, spritz my pan with some Spray Pam, put the scrambled eggs in, sprinkle crumbled bacon on top, flip them once and done. Here's my food prep pic for this week and you can see the eggs. ETA: Even doing 12 egg patties one at a time, only takes me about 30-40 mins, if that. They cook really quickly and I'm usually doing other food prep chores in between.

brandy327 Thanks! I'll have to look for ne of those small skillets. You are so organized! It was REALLY cheap - I want to say like $11. WELL worth the money! And I find that things run SO much more smoothly if I have all this stuff prepped. AND, it saves us money in the long run because dh doesn't have to buy breakfast OR lunch. AND, he's eating healthy food. In January when I really started doing more food prep, I was making lunches for myself as well but I've found that as long as I have some chicken breasts cooked and veggies/salad available, I'm good with that for lunch...or I'll eat yogurt with strawberries and granola.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend!
Did my weigh in on Friday... I didn't lose any weight last week, and even though I did lose a few inches, I can't help but feel depressed about that the scale didn't move. Yesterday, though, I did my fastest, quickest, longest run/walk ever! 3.4 miles in 50 minutes, I ran almost half of it in intervals. For me, that's fast, lol! I didn't go today, but I am looking forward to it again tomorrow!
Oh... I had a small piece of vegan cake at a birthday party today. It's the first sugar I've had in over 2 months. It was deliciousssssss. I am really grateful that the cake was all gone so I couldn't have a second piece, haha! That's my first big cheat in a long time, now... Back on track!

Hey ladies! Hope you're all having a great weekend! We took dh out for breakfast this morning for his bday. His bday isn't until Tuesday but he has to work so we celebrated today. I love breakfast foods when we're at a restaurant so I really tried to be careful but yet still enjoy myself. We went to a place known for their pancakes and syrup so I ate 1 pancake with syrup, 1 sausage link, 1/4 of the potatoes, 1/2 slice of multrigrain toast and 1 egg scrambled. I entered it the best I could to MFP and it came out to almost 600 calories. A lot for one meal but I don't need lunch now because I'm still not hungry.
The scale is still being a bitch here too. No movement in any direction. LOL Weigh in is tomorrow and it's going to be yet another gain from last week. *sigh* Annoying but still down about 3 lbs from before the stomachbug2016 hit. LOL So I'm not too annoyed.
Off for more soccer here in a bit!!

Not stepping on the scale today.
Yesterday's 24 hr shift was a bit of an eating disaster. Not as bad as it would have been when I was just not thinking, but I definitely lost track of just how much Kettle Corn I was snacking on through the night. Started off well with healthy snacks, but did not keep it up through the day. Just had the salad bar for lunch with a little chicken on it to try to compensate.
I'm off now until Monday night. Not that it's a lot of time. Trying to get a little bit of sewing work done today. I cut out one more tankini and 2 more bottoms. Going to clean up the dining room again and figure out what else I need to make and maybe get some more things cut out to make creating them go faster during the week. Time is ticking! Hawaii in 9 days!!

My husband and I went out to dinner last night and while I chose the salad bar, there weren't a lot of protein choices. A lot of what I had was fairly high in fat. I'm definitely paying for it today. My gut and stomach do.not.feel.good. at all! Ugh! I also drank diet coke or the first time in a very long time and I don't think that agreed with me all that well either. Today, I'm keeping it light and working on the work-week meal preps. Dh is in the kitchen now, so I've had to pause for a bit. Going to get the rest done after he's done prepping for dinner. Hoping I'll get a good walk in tonight, but honestly, I'm not feeling 100% and I'm definitely feeling lazy right now. If not, I'll survive...and give my foot a bit of a break. I'm ok with that. Working on keeping this week a good and active one--I'm so close to 20 lbs down, I'm hoping to be there in the next couple of weeks!

I used to have a several diet Coke a day habit. I gave it up several years ago. I don't like any cola soda now and really don't like most sodas in general, diet or regular. Having not had tortilla chips pretzels and crackers for 2 months, I'm now finding them SOOO salty! I did eat a bit of all three of those things this weekend, but not in the volume I once did.

For the longest time, it was Coke, Pepsi or Mt Dew - not even diet. A few years ago, I decided to just give it up all cold turkey. Now even if I have a little it leaves me feeling REALLY bloaty and icky. So I just don't drink it. Eating anything high in fat will ALSO make me feel crappy...sometimes I give in to that though.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't do well with old favorites! Misery loves company! I'm really bloated today and my gut is acting up still so I doubt I'll stray so far off course next time! I really wish I'd enjoyed my "splurges" more! I guess it's a good thing--I'm changing and my body is telling me what I can and cannot tolerate well anymore. I actually missed my club soda. It's my only "bubbly" drink. I think I'm going to just continue with that instead of soda in general as I'm not loving it anymore. Here's to tomorrow being a much less "sick" day!

I did the cape cod ragnar this weekend and it was awesome! I ran 17 miles total and my second leg (5.5 miles) was epic for me. I never stopped and ran at a pace I have rarely been able to achieve. It was around midnight, had just stopped raining, and it was nice and cool and peaceful. I was the slowest in my group, but EVERYONE was so encouraging the entire time. even people who pass you on the road take a moment to offer some encouragement and praise.
The hardest part was the sleep deprivation (2.5 hours sleep in 30+ hours)at the end someone asked me if I would do it again and I said I wasn't sure, but after a good night's sleep, I want to do it again!

What a busy weekend! I did sneak an hour nap in today which is heavenly.
We went bowling this afternoon with the kids. It was so fun but I suck. Like embarrassing! But it was fun.
Did a 2 mile walk on the treadmill when I got home, I know I said I was going to rest my hip but it felt better so I did a walk...I should have rested.
I need to listen to my body better!

You can also make the egg patties several at a time using a whoopie pie pan. We also have a nordicware microwave egg thing that makes them in one minute. The kids use it to make their breakfast. You just crack the egg, scramble it a bit and add any spices or some shredded cheese. Put in for 1 min.
